Preparation before Infusion

1. Attach infusion pump to I.V pole with pole clamp.

2. Prepare I.V container and disposable I.V set.

3. Remove I.V set from pouch and close roller clamp (4) .

4. Remove spike protector (1) from spike and insert spike (2) into container.

5. Hang container, fill drip chamber (3) by squeezing until approximately 1/3 full.

6. Open roller clamp, allow fluid to fill entire length of tubing and then close the roller clamp (4).

7. Open pump door and load I.V set properly onto the pump, according to the following 4 steps.

Steps to load I.V set to pump

1. Open pump door and push Tube Clamp Opener (6) to open Down Tube Clamp (4).

2. Gently pull tubing and secure it in each clamp including Air Detector (1), Up Tube Clamp (2), white clips (3), Down Tube Clamp (4) and Tube Retainer (5).

3. Before closing door, make sure tubing is loaded straight in channel and is completely clamped by Down Tube Clamp to prevent free flow.

Start Delivery

1. Flick power switch on the back of the pump to turn on the device.

2. Press ENTER/SET to enter infusion setting menu.

3. Press Arrow keys or or Numeric keys to set desired flow rate; press ENTER/SET key to confirm rate setting and enter into volume limit setting.

4. Press Arrow keys or or Numeric keys to set desired volume limit; press ENTER/SET key to confirm setting and return to main menu.

5. Open roller clamp on I.V set, and remove tip protector from adapter.

6. Press BOLUS/PURGE key to prime I.V set and expel air and occlusions from tubing.

7. Attach adapter to venipuncture device and connect it to patient.

8. Press START/STOP key to start infusion.

BOLUS Function

1. During a primary infusion, press and hold BOLUS/PURGE key for 2 seconds to enter SETUP BOLUS menu.

2. Press Arrow keys or or Numeric keys to set desired Bolus Rate; press ENTER/SET key to confirm rate setting and enter into Bolus Volume setting.

3. Press Arrow keys or or Numeric keys to set desired Bolus Volume ; press ENTER/SET key to confirm setting.

4. To start a bolus, Press BOLUS/PURGE key.

5. While pump is running a bolus, screen will display bolus volume delivered. Once delivered volume reaches pre-set bolus volume, pump will automatically switch back to primary infusion rate.

6. To stop a bolus, press START/STOP key.
