OBJECTIVES

i) To inculcate sound abilities, proficiencies, values, self-confidence and creativity

among the pupils;

ii)To imbibe the basic values of democracy, secularism, equality, mutual tolerance,

peaceful co-existence, social justice and ethics as enshrined in the Constitution of

India;

iii) To make the institution a seat of higher legal learning by promoting research;

iv) To disseminate advanced legal knowledge based on common sense and wisdom

by preserving India's cultural heritage;

v)To equip the pupils with basic skills to face the day to day challenges in the legal and

judicial field by sharpening their decision-making and problem-solving

capabilities;

vi) To develop a sense of self-respect and dignity among the backward and weaker

sections of the society;

About the Akola Education Society:

Akola Education Society (AES) was established on the auspicious day of Tilak

Jayanti on 23rd

July 1927. The Society is a pioneering educational trust formed

and established by members drawn from the teaching community wi th the

objective of propagating education in the region, providing education from the

grass root level , i .e, play group to the post -graduate level.

AES, the well -managed trust , has successfully established 12 educational

institutions, Akola Law College, being one of them.

About Akola Law College:

Akola Law College was established in the year 2004-‟05. The Govt. of Maharashtra granted

permission to the Society to start a five-year law degree course college on permanent no-grant

basis vide its letter No. NGC 2004/ (1/04)/MS-4, dated 15th July 2004. The college is affiliated to

Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati, which granted its first affiliation vide its letter

No. AU/8/C-2274/2004, dated 01st September 2004. The college started its regular functioning

by admitting students from the academic year 2005-2006. The college introduced LL.M. course in

five groups from the academic year 2009-2010. LL. B. Three Year Course will be introduced in

the College from the Academic year 2017-18.

Eligibility and Admission Process:

LL. B. Courses:

The admissions for both LL. B. Courses at Akola Law College, Akola will be through MH-CET

LAW only.

MH-CET Law Eligibility Criteria

Indian National candidates are eligible to apply for this exam.

For LL.B (five-year) programmes, students must have passed 12th

or equivalent exam

from any recognized board securing 45% marks for general and 40% marks for SC/ST

candidates.

For LL.B (Three year) course, candidates must hold a graduate or post-graduate degree

with obtaining minimum 45% marks for general candidate and 40% marks for SC/ST

candidates.

To be eligible for LLB programme, candidate must have completed their qualification in

the pattern 0of 10+2+3.

Students who are appearing in the qualifying exam are also eligible to apply.

MH CET Law 2017 Exam Pattern

Exam Date: Examination for 3-years LL.B. programme was held on 21st May 2017 and

for 5-years LL.B. programme, the examination was conducted on 20th

May 2017.

Exam Mode: The examination was organized in online mode (computer based test).

Question Paper Type: The question paper was containing objective type questions with

four options.

Paper Language: The question paper was asked in English and Marathi language.

Exam Duration: The exam duration was two hours (120 minutes).

Sections: The question paper was comprised in different sections such as Legal Aptitude

and Legal Reasoning, General Knowledge with Current Affairs, Logical and Analytical

Reasoning, English and Mathematical Aptitude.

Number of Questions: Total 150 questions were asked in the examination of 1 mark

each.

Negative Marking: There is no negative marking in this exam.

LL. M. Course: Information regarding admission criteria, procedure and fees for LL. M. Course offered at ALC

shall be available at the college office (kindly Contact us).

Necessary Documents:

Admission must be taken by the student in person, by submitting the following documents in

original with attested 3 sets of photocopy and recent passport size photographs, with name written

on the backside. Old/ marked/used photograph will not be accepted.

Additional Information:

Attendance: Students should attend the classes regularly. 75% attendance is compulsory as per

university rules. Otherwise, the students shall not be qualified for appearing in the university and

college examinations.

Medium: The medium of instruction shall be English.

Term and vacation: The term and vacation shall be as prescribed by the University.

Uniform: Students should attend the college in uniform as prescribed by the college authorities.

Adherence to dress code is mandatory.

Identity card: Identity Card will be supplied by the college. Students shall keep the identity

card in their possession while on the college premises. They should produce the same as and

when demanded.

College hours: The classes will be conducted in the morning and noon session.

Infrastructure and Other Facilities:

Library: The College provides excellent library facility to its students with more than 4530

number of books. Library is stacked up with books on law and allied subjects. The college also

subscribes to current and back volumes of A.I.R., Cr.L.J., S.C.J., M.L.J., other journals and

databases of Supreme Court cases, High Court cases and Central and State legislations. Book Bank

Facility is available for the students on payment of necessary deposit.

Auditorium: The College has the auditorium and conference hall with a seating capacity of

300 persons.

Computer Centre with internet connectivity: - The College has computer laboratory

with adequate numbers of computers with internet facility. Students have free access to use the

computer laboratory.

Legal Aid Clinic: To help the needy persons and to give the students the practical knowledge

of law, the college has set up a „Free Legal Aid Clinic‟. The college organizes free legal aid

camps, legal literacy camps, women & children rights awareness camps etc.

Games and Sports: Facilities for various games and sports are available in the college

including play ground for volley ball, basket ball, cricket and other out-door games.

Scholarship and Concession: Government of India Scholarship is available for the

students of S.T., S.C., O.B.C. and N.T. etc. The management will consider the grant of

scholarship and fee concessions in selected deserving cases on receiving applications. The

decision of the management in this regard shall be final.

National Minority Scholarship: National Minority Scholarship is also available for those

students who have from minority community.

Moot Court Hall: Moot Court room has been set up at the college with all required facilities

including furniture, books and others. The college regularly organizes moot court activities.
