A Message From The President Dear AKPsi Gamma Nu Alumni,

It is with great pleasure that I announce that the Gamma Nu chapter at Babson is being re-chartered! This endeavor began last year as we started to contact the AKPsi Herit-age Center and the Babson administration in the hopes of getting the Gamma Nu chapter back on campus. There were many discussions and meetings, but in the end we got approved by the both sides and were able to embark on this adventure. In order to re-charter we have to go through the colony phase again, as well as get approved by the Student Government Association at Bab-son. It has only been two and a half months since our first colonization ceremony, but so many positive things have already happened. We have had Professional (VC Panel), Social, and Service events and are looking forward to all of the others in the future. Everyone is working hard to make sure that things go smoothly and that we are ready to be installed as a chapter and initiated as members in the spring. Since the beginning of the year we have grown to over 70 colonists and it has been great getting to meet so many interesting people. Since our group is so large, there is a lot more that we will be able to learn about each other as the year goes on. I am sure that the closer we get to each other, the better this experience will be. One of our main goals is to bring the diversity of the AKPsi alumni to Babson’s campus. While Babson is great at finance, accounting, and consulting, we would love to see some other industries (such as enter-tainment, technology, etc.) represented. We hope that our members will be better able to know about the various career paths available to them and pick something that they are truly interested in. We are also hoping to connect with the other chapters in our area to build our professional and personal networks. Having met some of the people from those chapters, it seems like we have a lot of support and enthusiastic people who want to help us along the way. As the year goes on, we will keep you updated through this newsletter of any news and events that are happening. We would love to get to know you better, so if you would ever like to stop by, just reach out to us and we can figure something out. All of your support and advice is greatly appreciated! We are looking forward to getting to know you in the future and bring-ing back the Gamma Nu chapter and all of its glory to Babson’s cam-pus. Sincerely, Rada Ilieva

Why I Joined Alpha Kappa Psi Coming from Belarus, I have never seen examples of Greek Life organizations. More so, I have

never expected to be interested in this kind of community. However, after my first year at a busi-

ness school, I have reevaluated my previous preferences and realized that I want to be a part of a

community that not only I would care about, but would also take care of me and my future. This

community was Alpha Kappa Psi.I believe that AKPsi and I are a great match for many reasons.

First of all, being an international student at Babson, I care a lot about future opportunities for my-

self and other non-American brothers of AKPsi after graduation. Having a strong net of AKPsi

alumni from all over the world makes me confident that no matter where I am, I will always be able

to find and provide support from other AKPsi members. Secondly, I have chosen AKPsi because

of the existent members of AKPsi at Babson College. Besides the fact that all these people are my

good friends, they all are also very hardworking, diligent and purposeful young people and it is a

pure pleasure to work with them. Last but not least, being one of the founding members for Bab-

son AKPsi is a unique opportunity for me to build and establish something purposeful and benefi-

cial for future generations of Babson students. Understanding that the contribution of my own as

well as other existing colony members makes Alpha Kappa Psi stronger and more recognized mo-

tivates me every day to work harder to achieve my goals. -Contributor: Lizaveta Litvinava

Hometown: I was born in Nha Trang, Vietnam, but was raised in Dallas, Texas.

What is your main involvement on campus: I am currently the founder and Presi-

dent of GIVE Tower, a community service organization at Babson dedicated to building

a force for volunteerism on campus! Our purpose is to be a community that provides a

centralized source of opportunities, resources, and hands-on experience to students

interested in generating social value.

What does being a member of AKPsi mean to you: I think that being a member

of AKPsi means pursuing the entrepreneurial spirit that Babson cultivates in all its stu-

dents. As a colony, we get to build and shape the organization for future years, and

that is truly exciting!

One thing you want to accomplish during your time in Babson: I’d like to leave

Babson knowing that whoever is the next president of GIVE Tower or AKPsi will bring

forth an innovative spirit tthat pushes both organizations into their golden years and

they are able to add value to the community.
