Aksa Power Generation, which continues its innovative activities with “Aksa Power Generation” institutional magazine, the publication of which began at the end of 2014, conveys its in-house activities in their most transparent state to wide audiences. I would like to individually thank each one of our employees, who have contributed to this magazine. We are a rather big family as Kazanci Holding. The foundations of Kazanci Holding, the leader integrated energy group of Turkey, were laid in the 1960s. The Group, which started generator production in the 1980s, built its structuring that is integrated in the energy value chain over time. ACE of M.I.C.E, which has realized the first and only exhibition of Turkey in the congress, meeting, and event area, hosted many participating firms from Turkey and the world in the exhibition it organized

for the 3rd time this year. The energy sponsor of the exhibition, which was held in Istanbul Congress Center, was Aksa Power Generation. ACE of M.I.C.E was organized between the dates of February 26 and 28 this year. A total of 325 firms from 25 countries participated in the exhibition that brought together the major sector representatives from within the country and abroad. The award ceremony was held at Golden Horn Congress Center in the second day of ACE of M.I.C.E exhibition, which was realized with the support of Aksa Power Generation. A total of 27 awards were given in 4 main categories in this ceremony. The exhibition, organized to increase the recognition and awareness perception of M.I.C.E sector in Turkey, has as its primary purpose to ensure unity and solidarity within the sector and to attain new customer markets.

The eighth Eurasia Boat Show organized this year was held at CNR Expo Yesilkoy between the dates of February 14 and 22. In the exhibition that was held with the participation of nearly 1000 brands, many

marine vessels and equipment were exhibited for sea lovers; from small boats to million dollar yachts. In the exhibition, where entire accessories and equipment of the Marine Sector was exhibited, Aksa Power Generation marine group sets and portable generator products attracted the attention of trendsetting visitors in the marine sector.

Middle East Electricity, the biggest Trade Show, Fair and Exhibition of the Middle East opened its doors to visitors for the 40th time in Dubai. Aksa Power Generation attracted great interest in the exhibition that was held between the dates of March 2 and 4 of 2015.

THE ENERGY OF AKSA POWER GENERATION IS IN THE MIDDLE EAST

Middle East Electricity, which was organized for the 40th time this year, was held at Dubai International Exhibition Center.

Leading names of electricity, electronics, and lighting sectors from 22 countries took place in the exhibition that was held between the dates of 2nd and 4th of March. In the exhibition, where thousands of professionals were present, Aksa Power Generation, the leader brand of the generator market, was present also. Aksa Power Generation CEO, Alper Peker, who made a statement with regards to the Middle East Electricity Exhibition that brought the leading names of the global energy sector together, said the following; “Exhibitions, which provide

the opportunity to closely follow innovations and developments in the sector, also provide us the opportunity to observe the overseas markets. We had the opportunity to explain to participants our products and quality understanding at the exhibition as one of the leading names in the Turkish generator sector. The International Hospitality Industry Equipment Exhibition, which is the major meeting point of the hospitality equipment sector, was held between the dates of January 21 and 24. A total of 24,000

professionals from the sector were hosted in two days at the exhibition this year. The exhibition, which displayed the products of 3,500 brands from 408 participating firms, grew by 26 percent in size. Aksa Power Generation, the leading brand

of the generator market, also took its place in the exhibition, in which thousands of professionals from Turkey and abroad participated. Aksa Power Generation CEO, Alper Peker, said the following regarding the exhibition; “The International Hospitality Industry Equipment Exhibition is hosting thousands of professionals who are experts in our sector. Thanks to this, besides having the opportunity to promote our products, we also are able to have our partners try our products.”

K onya 13th International Agriculture Exhibition: Konya Agriculture 2015 was hosted by TUYAP Konya International Exhibition Center. Konya Agriculture Exhibition, organized for the

13th time this year, brought important representatives of the sector and professional visitors together. Konya Agriculture Exhibition was realized with the participation of 978 brands, 558 firms and firm representations from 20 countries in 2014. It succeeded in bringing together at total of 203,121 visitors, who came from 74 provinces in Turkey and 46 different countries primarily from the Middle East, Central Asia, Africa, Caucasus, and the Balkans. A large number of participation was achieved from within the country and abroad this year as well with the encouragement of the successes of previous years and the impressive exhibitions that were held throughout the country. Aksa Power Generation again displayed the products in its product range at this event.

Providing uninterrupted electric power in hospitals is of vital importance especially in units that require emergency intervention. In units such as operating rooms, intensive care units, emergency

units, and laboratories, it is mandatory to have uninterrupted electric power as they require immediate intervention. Diesel generators need to be used as the power to supply about 70 percent of the energy of the hospitals against any power cuts that may be experienced in hospitals. Alper Peker, Aksa Power Generation CEO, made the following comments with

regards to power cuts frequently encountered in hospitals in Turkey; “power cuts that negatively affect life, must also bring about their solutions if experienced in hospitals. As intensive care units and emergency services at hospitals are of critical importance, serious problems may be experienced even during slightest power cuts. Power cuts experienced throughout Turkey have affected life negatively both financially and morally. The hourly cost to Turkey, primarily in industry as well as all lines of business with regards to these power cuts reached millions of dollars. Many firms moved to the use of generators to avoid production halts.

Power cuts experienced all over Turkey also led to financial losses. Upon cuts occurring for long periods of time, many producer firms applied to generator dealers and met their generator requirements. Aksa Power Generation CEO, Alper Peker, who said that they could not keep up with the phones of those who were demanding generators during power cuts, continued, “We could not keep up with the orders of those who were calling to buy generators a while after power cuts began. Those calling our call centers increased by 500 percent and web site traffic increased by 800 percent. Many

producers, who were aggrieved by power cuts, contacted our firm to purchase generators.”

“Regular maintenance is a must”Alper Peker added, “The selection of generators that are in accordance with energy requirements and are properly maintained reduces the damage caused by power cuts. Generators, whose maintenance is regularly performed, prevent our life from being negatively affected by stepping in right away. Firms with high-quality after-sales services should be preferred in addition to brand while purchasing a generator.

The number of callers to our call centers increased by 500 percent and those visiting our web site went up by 800 percent during the power cut.

FIS Snowboard World Cup took place in ITU Stadium on December 20, 2014, for the first time in Istanbul. A 42-meter high and 125-meter long ramp was installed at the stadium, and nearly 400 tons of snow was produced. This ramp caught the attentions as being the highest ramp installed up to now. Aksa was one of the sponsors of this major organization. 43 snowboarders from 22 countries came to Istanbul and participa-ted in FIS Snowboard Big Air Istanbul. The world cup was realized for the first time in Istanbul following London, Moscow, Que-bec, Barcelona, and Stockholm.

SPONSORING BREAKTHROUGHSThis year women had the chance to com-pete for the first time in FIS Snowboard Big Air history in Istanbul. While 43 competitors from 22 countries came to Istanbul for FIS Snowboard Big Air Istanbul, to which Aksa Jeneratör was one of the sponsors, snowbo-arders - 6 women and 10 men - competed fiercely for the first prize in finals. After ex-citing finals at FIS Snowboard Big Air Istan-bul, Ty Walker from the USA was awarded the 1st prize, with the 2nd prize granted to Sina Candrian from Switzerland, and the 3rd prize to Cheryl Maasyer from the Net-herlands. In men, Seppe Smits from Belgium ranked 1st, followed by Jonas Boesiger from Switzerland in the 2nd place and Brandon Davis from the USA in the 3rd place. Athena band performed an enjoyable concert after the ceremony held following the finals.

Professional service Customers who have purchased generators from firms that do not provide after-sales services applied to us during the power cuts experienced. We on the other hand provided assistance with our professional team that provides after-sales services to people who were experiencing issues due to power cuts. At this point, it was once again seen how important the after-sales service of a generator is in addition to its quality.”

A total of 195 awards in 65 categories were handed to winners in the awards ceremony oriented at exporter firms of Turkey.

IMMIB, which realizes 30 percent of the total exports of Turkey and incorporates six associations, gave the Stars of Export awards to firms that have the largest export share in the Turkish economy. At the awards

ceremony held at Hyatt Regency Istanbul Atakoy Hotel, the Minister of Economics Nihat Zeybekci, TIM Chairman Mehmet Buyukeksi, and relevant association presidents handed over the awards to winners. Aksa Power Generation won the second place in the Electrical and Electronics category, after Arcelik in the ceremony held for the eighth time this year.

The ‘Stars of Export’ awards were given to their winners organized by Istanbul Mineral and Metal Exporters’ Association (IMMIB). Aksa Power Generation was awarded the second place in ‘Electrical and Electronics Equipment’ category.

AKSA POWER GENERATION IS THE BEST DOOSAN CUSTOMERAksa Power Generation was awarded the ‘Best customer of 2014’ by Doosan Engine, the biggest engine producer of the world. The South Korean firm announced that Aksa Power Generation was the firm that sold the most generators worldwide with Doosan engines.

Aksa Power Generation, which works with the strongest suppliers in international markets, was elected as the best customer of Doosan Engine Company in 2014, as was the case in 2013. The South Korean Doosan, the biggest

engine producer of the world, named Aksa Power Generation as the winner of the ‘best customer of the year’ award due to the sales throughout the year. Aksa Power Generation CEO Alper Peker, who mentioned that they continued their works in line with customer satisfaction, said the following on the subject: “Cooperating with firms that are on the same path as us such as Doosan contributes to our customer focused and reliable brand image. Awards given to Aksa Power Generation by Doosan for the last couple of years will show us the way in achieving our 2023 targets.”

INTERMAT, International Construction Machines, Construction Material Machines, Construction Vehicles and Mining Machines Exhibition, hosted its visitors at Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Center. Turkey was one of the 37 countries that participated in the INTERMAT Exhibition, which brought

together those involved in business and construction technologies. Turkey had a success story at the exhibition held between the dates of April 20 and 25. The country with the most exhibition area following the UK and USA was Turkey, as the third country with Aksa Power Generation. Aksa Power Generation did not break the tradition of representing Turkey at the Paris INTERMAT Exhibition, in which many global brands participated, and attracted great interest with its products and stand.

INTERMAT, the third biggest exhibition of the world in construction, hosted its visitors in Paris between the dates of April 20 and 25. Aksa Power Generation, one of the important players of the energy sector from Turkey, also had the opportunity to introduce its new products to participants in the exhibition where international brands were represented.

On the centenary of the Dardanelles Campaign, Anzacs, who came as guests to our country from Australia and New Zealand met at the dawn ceremony. Aksa Power Generation, which is the

first brand that comes to mind when generator is mentioned in the world and our country, did not also leave thousands of Anzacs in the dark by showing them warm hospitality on this meaningful day. There is no power system installed to meet the needs of visitors during the annual ceremonies organized every year at and around the Anzac Cove. Ceremonial grounds are illuminated by electricity generated with generators. Anzacs, who started the ceremonies by watching documentaries and films related to the Dardanelles Campaign at dawn on giant screens installed at the ceremonial grounds, performed the ceremonies with the 32 generators that Aksa Power Generation had specially installed. No power cut was allowed as the grid system available at the Turkish and Anzac war cemeteries was supported with generators supplied by Aksa Power Generation.

Aksa Power Generation, which had previously also illuminated important organizations such as Presidential Cycle Tour of Turkey, Republic Day celebrations, air show of the 100th Foundation Year of the Turkish Air Force, also commemorated the Centenary of Dardanelles Campaign by illuminating it. Murat Donmez, Aksa Power Generation Rental General Manager mentioned the following with regards to the subject: “Power was a necessity on the stage and at the areas where Anzac memorial services were being held. On such a day during which we share common feelings when memorial services are held for Turks and Anzacs, we saw it as our duty to support the organization and did not leave the Turkish and Anzac War Cemeteries in the dark. We welcomed thousands of Anzacs, who came for the dawn memorial with lights and Turkish hospitality.

CURLING STONE AND BROOMCurling stone at first used to be made from special granite found in the Craig Island in Scotland. However, after the Island was put under preservation, a different surface was formed by bonding special granites to this stone. A brush called the broom is used in order to move this stone in the desired direction on the ice curling sheet. Players may take advantage of the ice in order to give direction to the stone. A suitable pair of gloves and shoes are worn in curling. Team uniforms are worn as clothing.

ANGEL FALLSThe deepest waterfall of the world is the “Angel Falls” in Venezuela. Although the falls was discovered by Ernesto Sánchez La Cruz in early 20th Century, it takes its name from the surname of adventurer pilot Jimmie Angel. The falls, which evokes the sense of infinity with its view, signals the fact that there are still many places left to discover in the world. The waters of Angel Falls free fall 807 meters from the edge at the top to the bottom without hitting any obstacle, and the waters reach their journey’s end at Churun River.

NIAGARA FALLSNiagara straddles the international border with

Canada at Buffalo city, in the State of New York, USA, and virtually forms a natural border of water

between the two countries. Niagara, the largest among three falls forming the river, holds the

The artist, whose family was forced to migrate from Anatolia, recounts his efforts to bring together the two societies through the “secret harmony” of Lesbos as follows; “My purpose is to share the memories of homes we lost; and to look for a path that will liberate and bring together as well as heals us.”
