I had finished Master's Degree in Business Management from USA, and then I make

plan to come back in Oman and to start my own business. My father told me to

consult any of Consultant Company about business. For that I had make visit to three

consultant companies in the Muscat, then I choose the "TRADEMAX LLC." The

manager of the company told me that it will be better if I make visit some of

companies in the Muscat. So then I can have a good idea for the business. For that he

consult me three companies name in Muscat,

"AL HASSAN GROUP OF COMPANIES, SHANFARI GROUP OF COMPANIES

AND MUSCAT FINANCE CO LLC".

So I had chosen the AL HASSAN GROUP OF COMPANIES for my visit to the

company to see what they had in the business. In the start I will give some

information about the company products and services.

AL HASSAN GROUP OF COMPANIES

Al-Hassan group of companies was established in 1975 as an electric trading shop. Al

Hassan Group of Companies has expanded, bringing new business ideas from around

the world into the Sultanate Oman to help build a vibrant and modern nation. Today,

it is the group of 11 companies in it, having more than 5000 workers in it. They had

one joint venture in Oman and UAE.

Al Hassan Group comprises of three Strategic Business Units,

Manufacturing, trading and contrcting.

They are manufacturing MV & LV Switchgears, Control & Relay Panels and Light

Fittings at Muscat and Buraimi. They also had wide network of exporting their

products in the GCC countries. There all products are in very good standard having

the awards of ISO 9001: 2000 compliant.

Al-Hassan Group is well run by the qualified managers, professionals and executives

and also a well committed work force also which is making this group in high

standard and for producing the quality products not only on the Oman only as well as

in whole Arab world. They are also continually exploring the opportunities to

establish joint venture with other companies.

This group is associated in the growth and modernization of Sultanate of Oman in the

sector of oil and gas, desalination plants, power plants and petrochemical plants also.

They are playing a important role in making the economy of Oman good developed

and strong.

Now I will describe the internal structure of this organization. First of all I will take a

look on the internal environment of the company.

Environment of company

They are concerning their whole intention on the environment of the company. They

are following the rules of international health, safety and environment guides. They

had got many awards for their rules and regulation about the company environment

also. They had got ISO 9001:2008 Certificate for their company environment policy.

Main keys of their environment policy are,

Minimizing of the wastage from the evaluating operations and making sure them as

efficient as they can

They are implementing the training programs for their workers to getting better

awareness of good environment for the development of the company.

Ethical Practices:

Company had set a best goal for their ethics. They had set a policy of good ethical

behavior to their workers, staff, customers and clients. For anyone good company

ethical behavior is much important for the development of the company and for their

workers also. Obviously the workers of the company are the rear bone of the

company. If the workers are happy with their company policies they will work hard

for the company development.

But if there is un-ethical behavior shown by the company will goes in the loss of

company. If company will miss anything about the ethics soon company will be out of

the market. They are giving the best assurance for their workers about the work and

other things. They had made good environment for maintaining all things there in

company. They are giving the long term career to their workers, they are giving all the

benefits to their workers even they at age 60's.

Then they are offering the "well structured career growth" for their workers also. In

each level of the workers they are giving good guidance to their workers. They had

good co-operation with all of their workers. Even he is new joiner or he is old workers

of the company.

After in they had "Continuous Learning Opportunities" in which they are giving the

training to their workers, also they are holding the workshops, seminars and courses

for their workers.

Then they also are giving the "Competitive Compensation Package" to their workers.

They are awarding their workers on their good work.

Business Responsibility

They are doing best job about their business, well qualified managers, executives and

other staff is working there to giving more and more development to the company.

The decision power authority is making good decisions and long term decision about

their workers.

They are making decision about the interests of company employees

They are giving special attention to their clients and their customers

They are making good impact the company's operation for the community and

environment

They are keeping the company standard with the international standard of business

conducts.

They are acting fair with the company partners or shareholders.

Principles of management

Often time Al-Hassan group of companies in holding the training programs for their

staff so they could know well about the principles of management. In these programs

they are giving the training about the fundamentals of principles of working in the

organization. They are building the good one manager and workers for the tomorrow.

With these programs they are getting the fresh talent for the development of their

company and as well as the development of the Oman. In every section of the job

level they are giving them good skills and modern ideas for the management

principles.

In every time they are arranging the programs of training and other event in different

sectors of the company. So they are keeping eye on all section of their company. It is

the more important point for the development of their company.

For anyone good organization it is so important that they held the good programs for

their staff in further time so they can develop their management skills and then they

can apply that skills on others to give them a good lesson of good work in a good one

company.

Planning process

Al-Hassan group of companies ion running in good one planning process. Their

planners are making efforts all the time to make good planning for the company.

Which is the most important part of the development of any comapany. They are

making the good planning for the new projects and new ideas which can give better

developlment to the company. They had keep all thing in front of them to get

company more developled,some of the points are below,

In "Contracting" company is growing very fastly. They are getting much more

projects for their company, to get their company more established in contracting field.

Al Hassan Power Industries LLC (AHPI)

Al Hassan Lighting and Fan Industries LLC.

In this field they are manufacturing the quality standard switch gears with the

international standards. They also manufacturing the lights and fan and other

electrical equipments as well.

Trading section of this company was started at very start of the company. They had

take start from the trading company. As of now they are making trade for electrical

equipment, lighting products, energy management systems, transmission and

distribution equipment, building construction, oil & gas, petrochemicals and water

related products and services in Oman and as well as they are exporting also in the

GCC countries also.

Devices for Employee's Selection

Employee selection is the main part of the staffing process for the company. In this it

includes the activities for Human resources planning, recruitment and retention,

implementing of recruitment. The goal of HRM is to maximize the productivity of an

organization by optimizing the effectiveness of its employees while simultaneously

improving the work life of employees and treating employees as valuable resources.
