Why Alabama? Why Benin? Words from Mr. Smith The Alabama Benin Trade and Economic Cooperative Forum is a

facility for  educational and technical meetings convened  to install legislative and administrative ideas which leads to a competitive position for Benin and Alabama in trade and development relations. The Forum is also convened to install a model which leads to new opportunities in labor growth and economic freedom for individuals and families in poverty in distressed Alabama communities and in the Republic of Benin.

Freedom from the current conditions of poverty and inequality are vital for the global image of the State of Alabama and the moral requirement for even distributions of wealth without forced interventions from government. The 21st century is  placing complex demands on life in Alabama and Benin and we have turned our attention to the non-partisan business of planning, design and installation of an economic and social agenda, which advances true economic freedom. Trade development and investment opportunities between the Republic of Benin and Alabama offer these ends.

Message From the Founder Part 2The State of Alabama  has significant histories and capacities to promote Alabama's and the United States’ prospects with Sub-Saharan Africa. The State of Alabama is home and site of Africa Town, USA and the only State to be represented at the UN Special Session on Africa during the 1980’s. The State is a significant contributor to the leadership of the United States in the promotion and emergence of Africa’s economic and social position in the new millennium. The Alabama Benin Trade and Economic Forum Resolution, the Africa Town, USA Folk Festival, the Africa Town, USA Act creating the Africa Town, USA State Park, twinning agreements with the City of Ouidah, Benin, the cities of Prichard and Tuskegee’s Foreign Trade and Investment Zones, and the founding President and Secretary General of the World Conference of Mayors are all contributions made by the State to building greater ties with Africa.

The City of Prichard's proposal to build the Sub-Saharan Africa and Caribbean Trade Center within the boundaries of its municipality while taking advantage of Alabama's Port facilities, and access to the Tom Big Bee Water Way are also giant steps by the people of Alabama to lead the Africa Growth and opportunities movement. Steps by  citizens of Alabama to create this reality for themselves, the rest of the State and for Africa are supported by faith based institutions, the financial services industry, institutions of higher learning, the manufacturing sector, other cities in Alabama and members of the legislature. As founder and Chairman of the Forum I want to thank you for your visit to our site and we invite your support and continued involvement as investors, educators, public officials, bankers, faith-based leaders and ordinary citizens in this new public diplomacy initiative. John H. SmithChairman

Top Reason to Support & Invest in the Alabama Benin Trade Forum

If You Ask, You Will Receive As the old saying goes, “A closed mouth won’t get fed.” Well, there are many non-profit organizations that are not getting “fed,” aka supported by African American donors. In Diversity in Giving, twenty percent of African Americans surveyed, compared to nine percent of all donors, agreed with the statement, “I would support more nonprofits if I was asked more often. ”In my own research, 48% of black millennials surveyed said non-profits don’t do enough to engage them. So which nonprofits should be engaging African Americans? Diversity in Giving reports that more than any other group, African Americans are interested in supporting their unique heritage and community. African American donors favor social service organizations(40%), children’s welfare organizations(37%) and health organizations(37%). Therefore, when non-profits in these cause areas argue black donors don’t give, the first step to a solution is to simply. However, giving to the Alabama Benin Trade Forum is not only seeking African American donations. We need local, national and international support. Our history is American History. We need funding to preserve the history, create an edifice of museum to house the collected artifacts from the descendants of Africa town , the writing and personal papers of The Honorable John Smith and to implement trade with Africa and the Globe.
