Unity is strength. Where there is teamwork and collaboration,

wonderful things can be achieved.

- Mattie Stepanek

It’s finally the week of our third term tests, the culmination of all the hardwork that we have

all been putting in our virtual classes. You might be starting to feel stressed out as the end of this

academic year approaches, which is normal and common. Let us remember that there is still

plenty of time to finish strong!

This week, let us be inspired by our featured Valiant Knight, Efraim Christian Winarto. Here is

an account from his parents:

A year ago when the pandemic broke out and students had to continue their studies

through online classes, we were a bit worried about how my son would adjust well.

However, we are grateful that the VOLT program of SSIS-Batangas for online school activi-

ties during this pandemic has enabled my son to follow lessons well, even allowing him to man-

age his own routine schedule.

We appreciate the school's efforts (principal, teachers, and staff) in giving the best you can

give us, so that students including my son can continue to study even from home. You're off to a

good start, let's continue doing great. Thank you so much for this wonderful school year. You are

all amazing.

Thank you for inspiring us all, Efra! We hope that you keep this positive spirit.

Do you want to be the next person featured? Just send your stories and photos to

[email protected] or to [email protected].

We look forward to hearing from you!

P arents aim to provide their children with the best education possible.

They always lean towards international schools which help in provid-

ing a complete sound education. An excellent international school

will provide numerous benefits to your child as he or she prepares to

become an adult. Also, the student will be exposed to new, different experi-

ences and cultures.

Read through this article to know more about these characteristics.

Visibly and substantially improves the community it is embedded within. Community schools represent a place-based strategy in which schools partner

with community agencies and allocate resources to provide an “integrated

focus on academics, health and social services, youth and community devel-

opment, and community engagement.” Family and community engagement

found in schools is associated with positive student outcomes, such as improved

academic outcomes and student awareness and engagement to the commu-

nity they belong.

Stonyhurst Southville International School - Batangas (SSISB) raised for and

led the Valiant Knights Give Back Community Pantry in the past weeks. With the

collaboration of our school to the community, we reached our goals which is to

give back and make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate in our imme-

diate environment. SSISB keeps at doing the best to improve student learning

and well-being, as well as improve relationships within and beyond the school

walls.

Adapts quickly to social change. An effective and good school can cater to

the needs of the fast-changing world of the 21st century and can quickly

adapt to the changes.

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to some elements of teaching-learning

being changed permanently. Stonyhurst Southville International School imple-

mented Virtual Online Learning Teaching (VOLT) that allows Valiant Knights to

facilitate online distance learning and allows a more manageable and flexi-

ble schedule of online classes. VOLT allows students to continue learning in this

time of pandemic and become productive while enjoying and balancing aca-

demics and personal life at home. As we near the end of this academic year,

we have plenty of stories to share that will really showcase the amazing ac-

complishments that our school community has achieved together.
