Zoonotic diseases can be transmitted by wild animals to humans , to their pets, or to other wild animals directly as by bites or scratches or indirectly as by vectors like mosquitos or fleas.
Of particular concern on the peninsula is the possible spread of the plague from the wild rodent population on San Bruno mountain. Fleas from the California Ground Squirrel are a particular public health concern.
Rabies spread by infected bats, skunks or ground squirrels remains a constant threat.
Raccoon roundworm parasite, a potentially fatal zoonotic disease, has been found by necropsy analysis, in over 90 percent of the raccoons taken from homes and properties in San Mateo and San Francisco counties.

Birds & Their Droppings Can Carry Over 60 Transmissible Diseases
Some of these diseases are highly virulent and sometimes fatal
like H7N9 Avian Influenza
Nesting birds are also associated with over 50 kinds of ectoparasites
Bird Strike !
Most accidents occur when there is a collision involving a bird (or birds) and the windscreen or a bird (or birds) is sucked into the engines of mechanical air craft.
Bird strikes cause annual damages that have been estimated at $400 million within the United States of America alone and up to $1.2 billion to commercial aircraft worldwide

VANISH - raccoon eviction paste
• Vanish is a natural by-product extracted from the urine of boar raccoons, which are predators to female raccoons during the birthing period.
• Vanish has the consistency of a thick, creamy paste and has been formulated to stand up well in all weather conditions. Easy to handle, it will stay where it is placed.
• When Vanish is placed in a den area, the female instinctively senses that a danger to her young is nearby and will relocate them to a safer location. The inside top of the entrance hole may be an ideal place to place a gob of paste so that it gets smeared onto the female raccoon as she enters the home.
