    Fault id:-7655

Fault Name:- Neighbor cell ambiguity detected

Meaning:- A handover target cell cannot be uniquely selected because several candidates are available for a certain PCI

    value and carrier frequency.

Effects :-No handover can be performed to cells with the affected PCI and frequency

    Instruction :-

    1. Add the LNREL object pointing to the correct neighbor to allow the handover or enable the UE based ANR . (An LNREL

object represents the unidirectional relation between the source and the target cell and acts as a container for relationship-specific

information. The ECGI is used as a reference. The LNREL object is created, if a neighbor cell is detected and reported by a UE

provided that the LNADJL/LNCEL object exists and an HO attempt was initiated to this neighbor cell.)

    2. Enable PCI Management feature

    3. Remove parameter inconsistency from neighbor cell:- enode parameter should be configured according to baseline value.

    4. Remove wrong neighbor:-To remove wrong neighbor eNBs and their X2 link, first they shall be X2 black-listed, then thecorresponding LNADJ&LNADJL shall be removed. This can be done for each eNB individually.

    Fault id:-7653

    Fault Name:- Cell blocked

Meaning:- A critical fault (or faults) has occurred in a unit (or units) that belong to the sector indicated in the alarm

Effects :-Calls are not possible through the affected cell(s)

Instruction:-Verify the configuration of a BTS by checking the commissioning, cabling and correct installation of theunits/modules at the BTS. Make sure the environment does not cause the fault.

Before a unit/module is replaced at the BTS, the site should be reset to recover from any temporary faults which might

have caused the malfunctioning of the unit/module. When an active alarm is a 'Start' alarm, a site reset is required to

cancel the alarm. If the site reset or module block/unblock does not help, replace the faulty unit/module

    Fault id:-7654

Fault Name:- Failure in optical RP3 interface

Meaning:- The FlexiBTS has detected an abnormal operation or a failure in an optical RP3 interface between two modules. Thefailure cannot be attributed to a specific module but there are several possible fault sources.

Effects :-Depending on the reported alarms, the fault situation might have no impact on the operation (BASE STATION NOTIFICATION)or the BTS capacity might have decreased (BASE STATION OPERATION DEGRADED or CELL OPERATION DEGRADED, or CELL

FAULTY) or the BTS might not be operational at all (BASE STATION FAULTY)

    Instruction:-

    1. Check the other active BTS faults and act accordingly.

    2. Check the cables between the System Module and RF Module. Note that dirty optical connectors might cause

the signal level to drop too low.

    3. Depending on the fault source, reset the RF Module and/or System Module by blocking/unblocking it.

    4. Replace the alarming module's Small Form Factor Pluggable (SFP). Check also the SFP in the other end andreplace it if needed.

    5. Replace the alarming RF Module

    6. If the System Module is the only alarming source or replacing the RF Module does not clear the fault situation,

    replace the alarming System Module

    Instruction:-

    1. Check the antenna lines: antennas, antenna cables, connector torques, and antenna line devices.

    2. Check the antenna line (TX-cable-antenna) impedance matching.

    according to instructions and recommendations.

    3. Check if excessive sunlight is causing overheating. Install sunshield following mounting instructions and

Effects :- The RF Module may overheat, but there is no immediate effect on the module operation.

    Instruction:-

    1. Check if environment temperature is within design limits for radio module. When environment temperature is out of

limits then alarm is expected and no further actions are needed.

    2. Check if airflow is not blocked by some objects or walls. Remove any objects blocking airflow and mount module

    Fault Name:-Unit blocked

Meaning:- A module is blocked with BTS Site Manager. The purpose is to avoid fault indications that might be raised during the module maintenance task.

Effects :- The BTS does not send faults related to the blocked module to the network management system (NMS). The fault sendingto BTS Site Manager is always enabled. The fault cancellations are always sent to the NMS.

It is not possible to establish phone calls through the blocked module.

    Instruction:-

Unblock the module with BTS Site Manager

    Fault Name:-TX failure in MIMO

Meaning:- Because of TX path failure MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) functionality is not operational or is degraded in thecell related to the faulty TX.

Effects :- Because of TX failure MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) functionality is not operational or degraded for the cell relatedto the faulty TX. An attempt of the operator to configure any other mode than the single TX mode for the cell will be unsuccessful in this

    case.

    Instruction:-

    Fault id:-7654

Fault Name:-Increased BER detected on the optical connection to Radio Module

Meaning:- Increased bit error rate has been detected on the optical link to radio module which results in sporadical LCV errors indownlink baseband processing.

Effects :- Calls and data transmissions are possible with degraded quality and lower bandwidth because of increased bit error rateon optical connection

Instruction:-Section A : Check on system module & radio module side:

    1. Check if connector seal is properly mounted and firmly in place.

    2. Check if the SFP (Small Form Factor Pluggable) is properly connected/mounted in the System Module. If SFP connection/mounting

is not correct readjust the connection/mounting

    3. Check if the LED indicates the faulty SFP (connected to System Module), the connection/mounting Replace the SFP if it is faulty.

    4. Check if the optical cable is properly connected/mounted in the SFP.

    5. Clean the optical connectors that are connected to SFP. Reset RF HW

unit by block/unblock procedures and check if this solves the problem.

Section B: Check of optical connection:

    1. Check if optical cables are not over bend. If yes then replace the optical cable since over bending the optical fiber cables damagesthe cables and can detach or damage the connectors.

2 OPTIONAL: Test the fiber cable (f.ex. measure the optical attenuation) from System Module end. Please check measuring

    equipment documentation for instruction details
