Celebrate the Alaska World Arts Festival with us, created in Homer, Alaska USA’s Cosmic Hamlet by the Sea. Thanks to our diverse economy of mariners, tradespeople, and artists, and small and growing community, we proudly welcome folks from around the world to our Alaska World Arts Festival. Whether you’re here with us in Homer or elsewhere in the world, we hope the Alaska World Arts Festival creates memories to last a lifetime. BRAD ANDERSON, EXECUTIVE DIRECTORHOMER CHAMBER OF COMMERCE & VISITOR CENTER

Welcome to the Alaska World Arts festival. Homer is world-famous for peonies, fishing, and the arts—recognized by Coastal Living Magazine as one of America’s happiest seaside towns. I’m proud to be associated with a place of unsurpassed beauty and so many talented and civic-minded residents, working in cooperation with folks around the world to produce our festival. As we struggle with a virus that also attacks the arts scene, we must do what we can do from where we are to save it. Thank you.KEN CASTNER, MAYORHOMER, ALASKA

Given the unprecedented global events due to COVID-19 and the concern for the safety and wellbeing of our greater community and Alaska visitors, we are excited to bring you more worldwide artists and access by a larger audience, presenting the majority of festival events as unique virtual activities. Art is our greatest means of expression and helps us to understand each other’s history, traditions, and values. It honors the differences between cultures, and at the same time allows us to put aside our differences to learn from each other, work together creatively, and share our dreams. Art is a potentially metamorphosing treasure and an asset to all of humanity that brings us together as a world community. Welcome to the Alaska World Arts Festival, where we all speak the common language of arts.SALLY OBERSTEIN, DIRECTOR/PRODUCERTHE ALASKA WORLD ARTS FESTIVAL
