Dougherty County School System Superintendent Dr. David Mosley Associate Superintendent Dr. Ufot Inyang The Office of Global Programs hosts the annual International Education Week (IEW), an initiative developed by the U.S. Department of Education to promote programs that prepare Americans for the global environment and attract future leaders to study abroad, learn, exchange stories of their experiences across the globe. This week gives all Albany State University and Dougherty County School System students, faculty, staff and the community members a chance to share and appreciate global engagements at Albany State University (ASU). All participants will learn through various study and exhibitions, country stands, and entertainments about the importance of international education, which is a critical component in realizing both the USG, ASU and DCSS Strategic Plans. You are welcome to all events.

Chelsea Wooden, Overall Best Study Abroad Student

Social Work Major Trinidad & Tobago Summer 2015

Chelsea Wooden is a 22 year old native of Bainbridge, GA who is currently a senior Social Work major at the unsinkable Albany State University. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Wooden and the younger of their two daughters. Chelsea traveled to Trinidad & Tobago this past summer with ASU Professor Dr. Irma Gibson’s study abroad program, where they studied at the University of the West Indies St. Augustine campus. Her favorite hobbies are spending time with her family and enjoying the beach. Chelsea hopes to graduate in the Spring of 2016 and go on to complete her graduate degree and become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Her future aspirations include opening her own private practice in Jacksonville, Florida, serving as a marriage and family counselor.
