VIII. IP TERMS AND CONDITIONS (Maximum of one (1) page)

If applicable, in this Section the applicants are required to address the following issues: Ownership of ‘foreground’ IP generated by the project; Rights to use ‘background’ IP required for use in the project; Licenses to use foreground and background IP to the different project participants; Management issues related to foreground IP (such as patent expenses, patenting

decisions, dividing fields and scopes of use); and, Risk management issues (what special risks might be present in this project and on

which project participant do those risks fall).

Upon a Notice of Award to successful Projects, the applicants will be required to submit a signed Term Sheet that shows agreement on the above-mentioned issues.

IX. BUDGET INFORMATION (+ Excel Budget Template)

Please refer to section 5.0 the Program Guidelines for details about eligible costs. Proposals integrating co-funded activities or expenses must incorporate the funding as budget lines in the overall project budget. Projects that include funding requests for expenses incurred by private industry must be able to demonstrate at minimum an equivalent amount in OTHER FUNDING being contributed to the overall project by industry.

Please complete the excel Budget Template provided. Instructions on how to complete the Budget Template are found on the form.

If applicable, please describe in writing which proposed activities will be funded with OTHER FUNDING and which activities will be funded with the requested funding from Genome Alberta/AAF in a successful application. Note that OTHER FUNDING must:

1. Be integral to the activities of the project.2. Be secured prior to the commencement of the project. Do not list any sources of

funding that you have applied or will apply for.3. Only include those activities which are/were scheduled to start after May 1, 2018

The activities in the Budget Template must correspond to the activities listed under Section III “Research Proposal” of this document.

Attach a copy of OTHER FUNDING documentation (if applicable) in Appendix 3. Please provide a statement of work or quote for all Services and Technology Costs (S&T)

in Appendix 4. Once the budget is complete, please complete the checklist provided in the section below

to ensure project costs meet the general eligibility as outlined in the Program Guidelines.

In addition to completing the Budget Template, please paste the “Summary Report” from the excel Budget Template into this section. Note that you have to “refresh” the info in your “Summary Report” in order to update the information that is coming from your Budget tab in your Budget Template.
