The purpose of this method is to install a BSC which is not yet integrated in the network.
The procedure is applicable only at the BSC site.
The 9130 BSC Evolution has the following Ethernet network connection:
• One External Network for connection with OMC-R
• Two local networks
As follows:
– Local Service Network 0 (IP 172.17.y.x)
– Local Service Network 1 (IP 172.18.y.x)

Check BSC Status
Note:
Task Description Site Time/Task Outage
Check BSC Status BSC 5 min. None
Procedure
Attention: Try to connect with the BSC terminal immediately after you observe the
active LED on the OMCP board, otherwise is very possible to lose some
FIRMWARE-NOT-UP-TO-DATE alarms for a small number of boards.
Check the the status of BSC with the BSC terminal:
...................................................................................................................................................................................................
1 Open the BSC terminal:
On the NEM PC, click on Start->Programs->WinBSC->9130–>B12–>Windows 9130
BSC Terminal B12, and introduce the Virtual IP address of the BSC.
The Virtual IP address is 172.17.33.1
The Compressed Report View window opens.
...................................................................................................................................................................................................
2 Wait until the status in the Report Type field is SYSTEM INITIALISATION.
...................................................................................................................................................................................................
3 At the BSC terminal, enable the alarm reporting.
...................................................................................................................................................................................................
4 Check if the FIRMWARE-NOT-UP-TO-DATE alarm was reported and for which boards.
If the alarm is:
• Present, it means that a newer firmware version is available and is recommended for
application. Perform Firmware Upgrade from the Alcatel-Lucent 9130 BSC Evolution
- Maintenance Handbook.
• Not present, continue with the next step.
