TheseveralyearoldCouncildirectionstillstandsforourCityAttorneytoperformamiracle:Getaccessandaroad(southofthetreelineifpossible)withinadequatefundingtosupporttheprocess.NOTE:MorefundsarecurrentlyallocatedintheupcomingbudgetforaparkroadextensionattheendofEvergreenCourtthanarebeingmade

availabletoimprovecar,busandpedestrianaccessforthesafetyofthePleasantViewneighborhood.EconomicDevelopmentCommissionDissolved–(Notfunded)

TheCouncilrecentlydissolvedtheEconomicDevelopmentCommission(EDC)andcreatedthe“FranklinForwardEDC”.Newmembersarecurrentlybeingappointedtothiscommitteeandwillhaveatoughtaskaheadofthemgiventheeconomyandlackofmarketingfunds.

WaterSupplyProjectsandWaterRateIncrease–(Fundedbythetaxpayers)

TheCouncilapprovedbuildinga$1.3MBoosterPumpStationonPuetzRoad.StaffstatesthisisforreliabilityandtoservetheWESTportionoftheCity.InthemostrecentCitynewslettertherewasanoticeofawaterutilityrateincreaseover3%,effectiveJuly11duetoOakCreekwaterrateincreases.Residentsmayhavepreferredusingthe$1.3Mtooffsetthewaterrateincrease.Anewwatertowerhasalsobeenmentionedseveraltimesoverthepastfewweeks(seetheRCItopicbelow).

ApublicmeetingwillbeheldatFranklinCityHallforreconstructionofCollegeAvenuefrom27thto51st .MilwaukeeCountyrepresentativesandHimalayanConsultantswillbepresentfordiscussionandapresentation.Nolandpurchasesarerequiredanditwillremain2–lanes.Thepavementwillberemovedandreplacedwithasphalt.Onthesouthside,a6‐ftpavedshoulderwillextendfrom27thto43rd.andnarrowto2‐ftfrom43rdto51st Onthenorthside,shoulderswillvaryfrom1‐2fttofitwithintheexistingroadway.Drainageissueswillbecorrectedwithditchrepairs.

TheCitysanitarysewersystemhas165.6milesofsewerpipefrom8to36inchesdiameter.Mostarenewer,with96.7%installedafter1970.Theoldestparts,constructedinthe1950s,includetheRawsonhomesareanear37thPlace(betweenRawsonAvenueandMadisonBoulevard).Thissectionand36thStreetisbeingmonitoredforflowlevelsandunderconsiderationforprivatelateralimprovements.Privatelateralsareusuallytheresponsibilityofhomeowners
