I have had original compositions performed by Ligeti Quartet, Marci Saxes (both professional ensembles based in London). Winner of the Joyce Dixey Prize (2013) for outstanding composition and finalist of the David Lovvett competition (2014). Attained the George Hurst Memorial Conducting Scholarship for the Sherburne School of Music in (2013/4). Conducted University of Surrey symphony orchestra at their end of year concert and the University of Central Florida Symphony orchestra mid-year. Created and run the University of Surrey New Music ensemble, commissioning 6 local composers (along with myself) to write short pieces for a purpose built ensemble. Elected president and re-branded Uni of Surrey Concert Band, tripling attendance and addition an additional concert over the elected year, also was principle conductor. Continued as conductor over the next 2 years. Qualifications Employment Masters (Mmus) degree in Music (Composition) – Distinction 1 st Class honours degree in Music (Bmus) Musica Viva and Young Music Society (2014-). Two not for profit organizations in Australia, which participate in a number of concerts and events throughout the year. Freelance Music Copyist and Orchestrator (2013-15) Interests I am a keen musician with a passion for new music. I am driven by discovering new composers and artists performing today as well as other 20 th /21 st Century contemporary classical composers, particularly the music of Thomas Adès and Mark-Antony Turnage.
