Adults Learning for IntergenerationalCreative Experiences
Introduction: ALICE’s outline
In the complex contemporary European society, social cohesion needs to be built on the basis
of a new integrated and complex dimension of social tissue, where diversity (among cultures, age, gender) is considered an opportunity.
Intergenerational learning (IL) bring to the fore the question of “differences” that enrich: in
fact, IL can be a twofold purpose process, that improve dialogue among generations through civic
participation in common social and institutional spaces, while at the same time enacts processes of
informal learning towards the achievement, both byadults and children, of key competences for
lifelong learning. The processes of IL are hence, a mean and an end to foster social cohesion.
ALICE project aims to work with parents, grandparents, volunteers and other adults interested to
interact with children through new spaces of edutainment, to train them to the importance of use of creative languages (art, storytelling, social media) to build rich and caring environments for
childrens to grow up. This learning process will in time provide adults with key competences 1 , 4,
5, 7 and 8 . Adults will be engaged in at least six local specific informal educational experiences tobetter interact with children, through creative languages; experiences will cover a range of
activities, from "use of art to communicate and express", "storytelling in Europe", "games and
social media for all", aiming at discussing the complex role of adults as informal educators and
hence promoters of learning beyond the school. The project will look for engagement of two types
of adult-learners (at risk, like immigrant parents, and volunteers) in order to strengh social support
networks. In order to promote the better quality of adults' learning activities, the project will launch
a transversal, European training of adults' trainers as reflective support to local activities througheLearning methodology to discuss the topic of intergenerational learning at European level.
Aims:
To help adults, senior citizen and volunteers to reflect and acquire competences necessary to
become effective educators, and the impact their actions can have on future learning of children.
To provide adults, senior citizen and volunteers with creative languages to generate “zones
of proximal development” for intergenerational learning;
To train adult's trainers to adopt ALICE methodological approach, becoming aware of therole that adult's as educator can have on social cohesion, and hence, re-considering the
value of adult's training institutions.

Adults Learning for IntergenerationalCreative Experiences
Objectives:
To improve knowledge on cultural diversity and values of European patrimony, as the base
of creative languages, with impact on adult's acquisition of Key competence (KC) 8
“cultural awareness and expression” . To favour sharing of creative experiences among generations, as spaces of reflection,
awareness and learning on otherness towards commitment and solidarity, with impact on
adult's acquisition of “social and citizenship KC6”
To develop knowledge and skills for using art as creative language to dialogue with
children with impact on adult's the acquisition of KC 5 (learning to learn), KC7 (sense of
initiative and entrepreneurship) e KC8 To develop knowledge and skills for using storytelling as creative language to dialogue
with children with impact on adult's the acquisition of KC 5 (learning to learn), KC7 e KC8 To develop knowledge and skills for using games and social media as creative language to
dialogue with children with impact on adult's the acquisition of KC 4 (digital competence)
and KC5 To empower alliances among local government, school, elder people centers, cultural
associations, private sector, University, as spaces of implementation of creative experiences
for intergenerational learning
To improve the perspective of interdependence between adult as educator and adult as
lifelong learner, improving the participation of adults to lifelong learning. To contrast processes of exclusion and marginalization of adults-children at risk because of
the low competences of the former in caring/educating the latter.
To achieve aims and goals, the project will implement a “toolkit” of potential creative
languages as engaging instruments for intergenerational learning space, making use of:
European and non-European cultural heritage: art (music/paintings/theatre); elder people
stories; children's literature;
Social media to promote sharing of learning results -digitalization of contents created
above-
Games, according to children ages, to stimulate problem solving, creativity,
entrepreneurship.

The 2nd Partners’ Meeting
The Second Partners meeting is a intermediate important milestone for the project.
In fact, it is aimed to launch training of trainers, as well as deepen on projects’ methodology
and strategies for dissemination.
The initial phase, started by November 1st
, has implied first online contact through the webbased working environment (DLV1), the realisation of the KoM and the following agreements
giving place to the construction of the fundamental assets of the project. This meeting has a
character specifically focussed on the pedagogy of the project, to strengthen partners collaborationto launch training pilots.
Accordingly, the agenda will focus the following work packages:
Training of adults’ trainers (WP3),
The project Methodological approach (WP5)
Dissemination (WP6).
Issues regarding management and quality assurance will be treated in order to monitor the
ongoing processes. During this meeting, the amendment proposed at the KoM should be approved.
