The Cambridge CAP computer was the first successful experimental computer that demonstrated the use of security capabilities, both in hardware and software. It was developed at the University of Cambridge Computer Laboratory in the 1970s.

Speed:

A computer can process and calculate large amount of data and problems at a very fast rate. It can outdo a man in adding two numbers by hundredths of a second.

Repetitiveness:

A computer can do a job or a task as many times as you want it to be done. It never complains or gets bored like a human being.

Accuracy:

A computer can process data quickly with 100% correctness if it is fed with right data output.

Logic Operation:

A computer can operate by itself if all data and instructions are fed properly into it. T can execute instructions without human intervention.

Store and Recall Information:

A computer can keep info for later use. It uses either a diskette or the memory that can store millions of characters. A computer can also retrieve or get information from the disk or the memory.

Store and recall information Example:

Self-checking:

A computer verifies the correctness of its work to ensure that all data are accurate. It has its own built-in system that regulates the data flowing inside the computer.

Self Operation:

Computers are in the fields of business, communication, education, and entertainment. They are an essential tool of everyday living from simple household task to the most complicated activities.

-Informative Tool

-Constructive Tool

-Co-constructive Tool

-Situating Tool

Teachers can employ the computer as a/an:

Page 20: alice edtech final (2).pptx

-the computer can provide vast amounts of information in various

forms, such as text, graphics, sound and video.

Informative Tool:

Page 21: alice edtech final (2).pptx

-the computer itself can be used for manipulating

information's, visualizing one’s understanding and building new

knowledge.

Constructive Tool

Page 22: alice edtech final (2).pptx

-students can use constructive tools to

work cooperatively and construct a shared

understanding of new knowledge.

Co-constructive Tool:

Page 23: alice edtech final (2).pptx

- one way of co-construction is the used of electronic whiteboard where students may post notices to a shared document/whiteboard.

Page 24: alice edtech final (2).pptx

-by means of virtual reality (RS) extension systems,

the computer can create 3-D images on display to give the

user the feeling that are situated in a virtual environment.

Situating Tool:

Page 25: alice edtech final (2).pptx

- A flight simulation program is an example of a situating tool which places the user in a simulated flying environment.
