On 23rd October we visited Willington Hall for their

annual art exhibition. Willington Hall is in a lovely

setting and our friend Tanya Ravenscroft was there to

show us round.

The Residents enjoyed seeing all the art work and had

a cup of tea there before returning to the home.

On 6th October we

celebrated Rita’s’

Birthday.

We had a Film night

and watched “Red Dog” in the Lounge.

We all sang Happy

Birthday and shared a

Cake whilst enjoying some wine and

nibbles.

Rita had a lovely evening and some of

her family came in to

help us celebrate.

We also celebrated

Brenda’s Birthday

on the 10th October,

we had an afternoon

tea-party and

celebrated with tea

and cake.

On Tuesday 28th October we went for lunch at The

Bluebell Cafe in Barrow.

We took residents from Beeston View and Iddenshall and we all enjoyed a slap up lunch of Egg, Bacon,

Sausage, Beans, Mushrooms, Black Pudding and Toast.

The residents tucked in and there were clean plates all

round. The staff there were amazing. The Bluebell cafe is run by

volunteers and the money they take is donated to The

Red Cross and St John Ambulance.

It is in a lovely setting and we had a short walk around the grounds before heading back to the home.

We have refurbished the

Lounge/Conservatory and

Entrance Areas plus some of

the bedrooms at Iddenshall

Hall this past Month. The

colours and furnishings are

lovely and bright and

everyone has had positive

things to say about the

improvements.

On 1st October we went to a Tea Dance at Chester Town Hall. The Dance was attended by the deputy

Mayor of Chester and his wife. We met some very inspirational people there too.

On route we stopped at Christleton Pond to have a picnic and feed the ducks.

John and Connie especially enjoyed the dancing, some of which was out of our league, but we all tried

our best. We were given Tea and Biscuits and enjoyed the raffle too.

We were enjoying ourselves so much that we were a little late back for our tea!!

On 13th October Susan Walker joined

us again with her musical

entertainment, delighting us with her

saxophone and clarinet.

She played some requests for us and

we are all going to learn the words to

her songs so we can sing along.

As usual there was lots of dancing and

the residents joined in with Maracas

and tambourines!

On World Food Day this

week (16th October) we

celebrated by having a

Tasting session of exotic

fruits.

The residents enjoyed

sampling the delights of

Melons, Passion Fruit,

Bananas, Star fruit,

Pineapples and Grapes.

We spent the morning

learning how to peel and

cut the fruits and then

enjoyed eating the

results.

Throughout Halloween Week we have been busy

preparing for the 31st. We have done some Pumpkin

carving and designs and also have spent time

putting up the Halloween decorations at Iddenshall

Hall.

The staff have dressed up today in the spirit of the

season, trying not to scare the residents too much!

We had Pumpkin Soup for our tea and a Halloween

quiz in the afternoon too!!!!

On Tuesday 7th October we had a Pamper

Evening at Iddenshall Hall. The ladies enjoyed

having their nails done and Ruby enjoyed a Foot

Spa followed by a foot rub, which she found

most relaxing.

Even the men joined in!! Rob had a hand

massage and a head rub.

We drank some wine and had a film on in the

lounge, there was chatting and some laughs, and

everyone was extremely relaxed.

Our Newest Resident at Iddenshall Hall is an absolute wiz on the piano; she spent an

afternoon entertaining us with her talents.

Thank you Joan.
