Tsar Shate 2 presents Lewis Carroll’s

Alice in Wonder land

Page 2: Alice in Wonderland

1 Prologue [ All in the golden af-ternoon [ Full leisurely we glide;

[ For both our oars, with little skill, [ By little arms are plied, [ While little hands make vain pretence [ Our wanderings to guide [ Ah, cruel Three! In such an hour [ Beneath such dreamy weather, [ To beg a tale of breath too weak [ To stir the tiniest feather ! [ Yet what can one poor voice avail [ Against three tongues together ? [ Im-perious Prima flashes forth [ Her edict to begin it - [ In gentler tone Secunda hopes [ “ There will be nonsense in it ! ” - [ While Tertia interrupts the tale [ Not more than once a minute. [ Anon, to sudden silence

won, [ In fancy they pursue [ The dream-child moving through a land [ Of wonders wild and new, [ In friendly chat with bird or beast - [ And half believe it true. [ And ever, as the story drained [ The wells of fancy dry [ And faintly strove that weary one [ To put the subjet by [ The rest next time - It is next time ! [ The happy voices cry. [ Thus grew the tale of Wonderland : [ Thus slowly, one by one, [ Its quaint events were hammered out - [ And now the tale is done, [ And home we steer, a merry crew, [ Beneath the setting sun. [ Alice ! a childish story take, [ And with a gentle hand [ Lay it where Childhood’s dreams are twined [

In Memory’s mystic band, [ Like pilgrim’s wither’d wreath of flowers [ Pluck’d in a far-off land.

2 The White Rabbit (Into the Hole) I’m late ! I’m late ! [ I’ll never

make to the Queen [ I’m late ! I’m late ! [ She’ll punish me ! How can that be ? [ I’m late ! [ I lost my way [ I found it back I try to make it fast [ I’m late, I check the time I’ll never make it there ! [ Into the Hole ! [ Hello ! Hello ! [ Don’t have the time to say goodbye [ I have to go ! [ They wait for me I have to be on time ! [ How can I stand [ The pressure I am under ? [ Tell me how to live [ I need

Page 3: Alice in Wonderland

some air I need some time to spare [ Into the Hole ! [ Down into the Hole ! [ I’m late ! I’m late ! [ I’ll never make to the Queen [ I’m late ! I’m late ! [ She’ll punish me ! How can that be ? [ I’m late ! [ Into the Hole !

3 The Fall Falling into the hole [ And never make it back home [ Slowly

drowning by [ A pack of engines running ! [ Falling through the earth [ And never going back up [ Am I missed above ? [ And have they fed my cat tonight ? [ Down down down… [ Down down down… [ Down I’m falling down !

4 The Pool of Tears Dry your tears now Let me go ! [ Don’t cry

little girl [ Have no fear now [ Open up your eyes and (reprise) Show me out of this hole ! [ I drank a flask and I grew small [ Then ate a cake and grew so tall ! [ Who am I in the world ? [ The rabbit has a clue ! [ Dry your tears now I’m alone ! [ Don’t cry little girl [ Have no fear now [ Open up your eyes and (reprise) Where has the rabbit gone ? [ I may be drowning in my tears, [ The sound of freedom in my ears [ Drives me further inside ! [ Could I be go-ing mad ? [ Dry your tears now Let me go ! [ Don’t cry little girl [ Have no fear now

[ Open up your eyes and (reprise) Water flows from both my eyes !

5 A Caucus-Race and a Long Tale Ready to run ! [ I was born to

conquer ! [ I’m the Dodo King ! [ Fresh and full of power ! [ Dryer than your lips ! [ Let’s have a race in the hall [ Who will win we don’t care we’ll win all ! [ Now don’t stand like a tree ! [ Run with me ! [ To feel a sun in your mind [ Better grow a feather in your arse [ Allo ? Hello hello ? Moshi moshi ? [ Cats and me are three ! [ I am the lord of the ducks [ Clever as a mighty rat and solid as a rock ! [ And I glow in the

Page 4: Alice in Wonderland

dark : [ Like a shark ! [ Don’t be afraid it’s a game that we play everyday ! [ Never the same ! [ Fasten your seat belt and follow the dance as you can ! [ You never lose : you never choose, no ! [ We are the birds and we’re running to dry up our hips ! [ We never loose ! [ Don’t be afraid it’s a game that we play everyday! [ Never the same ! [ Playing the night and the day !

6 The Rabbit Sends in a Little Bill Let’s burn this house of mine !

[ And smoke that little child ! [ We’re gonna burn her [ ‘Till she screams ! [ ‘Till the little monster leaves. [ I’m scared and

full of haste [ I guess that it’s my fate [ I you could leave me alone [ I would use a gentler tone ! [ Gather you all for the burning ! [ A fire from floor to the ceiling ! [ Don’t mind the house : it’s not mine ! [ I’ll just buy another one. [ We want the blood we want the flesh ! [ We want her dead we want to rest ! [ Bring all the people wood and matches, [ There’s a fire to be made ! [ Gather you all for the burning ! [ A fire from floor to the ceiling ! [ I don’t really like it, to kill a child, kill a nice girl [ I’m no genius at all and I have to tell who’s the boss…

7 Advice from a Caterpillar Who are you ? [ What are you doing

on my mushroom ? [ I know a secret that nobody know, [ It is the first time that I’m telling it [ Open your ears now ! Open your mind and [ Keep your mouth shut ! [ There’s a place, Where no one sleeps and no one cares [ About the way you and I live [ About the way you and I breath [ You’re going there and [ Beware your head for the [ Queen chops them off ! [ Think right, think tight !

8 Pig and Pepper Speak roughly to your little boy, [ And beat him

when he sneezes : [ He only does it to annoy,

Page 5: Alice in Wonderland

[ Because he knows it teases. [ Wow wow wow wow ! [ I speak severely to my boy, [ I beat him when he sneezes ; [ For he can thoroughly enjoy [ The pepper when he pleases ! [ Wow wow wow wow ! [ (appear and disappear) [ Don’t mind where you go [ I’m grinning I’m a cat [ I’m mad and I’m about [ To disappear oh my ! [ You’re mad and you’re about [ To have a croquet game [ Give my words to the Queen [ And Kings and Jacks around !

9 A Mad Tea-Party I like what I get I get what I like ! [ I try not to rest I

rest not to try ! [ I breath when I sleep I sleep

when I breath ! [ I see what I eat I eat what I see ! [ Does your watch tell you what day we are ? Say ! [ What’s the year we’re living to-night ? Girl ! [ If you knew time the way that I do [ You’d love your watch too ! [ I find what I smoke I smoke what I find ! [ I mind when I choke I choke when I mind ! [ Enough of nonsense I’m not feeling right ! [ You’re go-ing crazy all, let me return home ! [ Though I must say you’re pretty funny too ! [ I’m tired of seeing, smelling, touching, tasting, hear-ing this farce ! [ We leave when we want we want when we leave! [ Say the magic word and we might keep still, [ Keep in silence !

10 The Queen’s Croquet Ground We spades are paint-

ing roses red [ If she finds out : off with our heads ! [ The Queen will be here in no time, [ Hurry there Mr. Five ! [ No way but paint for our lives ! [ Sharpening our weapons made of steel [ Protect our one and only Queen [ We clubs are ready for the fight [ “ Royal is always right ” [ We pledge to serve ‘till we die [ Forty alike ! [ Diamonds and clubs and spades and hearts ! [ Full deck of cards ! [ We serve the Queen and King of Hearts [ Day and Night. [ Hail to the crown ! [ Raised in a royal atmosphere [ We’re children of our loving Queen [ She

Page 6: Alice in Wonderland

hates to have us playing round [ Down on the croquet ground [ Believe us life can be hard ! [ Forty alike ! [ Diamonds and clubs and spades and hearts ! [ Full deck of cards ! [ We serve the Queen and King of Hearts [ Day and Night. [ Hail to the crown ! [ Finally the courtiers we appear [ We’re diamonds and we like to please [ Welcome the mighty one and only Queen !

11 The Mock Turtle’s Story This is my story [ Do you wish to

listen ? [ The life and time at sea [ The story of my ocean. [ Once I was a turtle [ That when we were little. [ We went to school at

sea [ Our master’s name was Andy [ We had the best education [ I was so smart and [ Each day was a lesson too [ We had an extra for washing [ Boy ! That was something ! [ Music was around to sing ! [ Like a morn-ing ray ! [ Feeling happy those were the days [ I wish I could stay [ Stop the time and go back again ! [ Reeling and writhing [ Started off the morning [ Then arithmetics [ Ambition and distraction [ Uglification [ Hardest was derision [ Dusty mystery [ Bor-ing seaography [ We had the best education [ I was so smart and [ Each day was a les-son too [ We had an extra for washing Boy ! That was something ! [ Music was around to

sing ! [ Like a morning ray ! [ Feeling happy those were the days [ I wish I could stay [ Stop the time and go back again !

12 The Lobster Quadrille“Will you walk a little faster ? ”

said a whiting to a snail [ “ There’s a por-poise close behind us, and he’s treading on my tail [ See how eagerly the lobsters and the turtles all advance. [ They are waiting on the shingle - will you come and join the dance ? [ Will you, won’t you, will you, won’t you, will you join the dance ? [ Will you, won’t you, will you, won’t you, won’t you join the dance ?” [ “ You can really have

Page 7: Alice in Wonderland

no notion how delightful it will be, [ When they take us up and throw us, with the lob-sters, out to sea ! ” [ But the snail replied, “ Too far, too far !” and gave a look askance - [ Said he thanked the whiting kindly, but he would not join the dance. [ Would not, could not, would not, could not, would not join the dance. [ Would not, could not, would not, could not, could not join the dance. [ “ What matters it how far we go ? ” his scaly friend replied. [ “ There is another shore, you know, upon the other side.” [ The further off from England the nearer is to France - [ Then turn not pale, beloved snail, but come and join the dance. [ Will you,

won’t you, will you, won’t you, won’t you join the dance ? [ Will you, won’t you, will you, won’t you, won’t you join the dance ?

13 Who Stole the Tarts ?The Queen of hearts, she made

some tarts, [ All on a summer day : [ The knave of hearts, he stole those tarts, [ And took them quite away !

14 Alice’s Evidence I greet you all to judge a girl who stole

the royal tarts [ Be merciless and fill your heart with hate as for a start [ The wit-nesses conclude the same it’s “ Guilty guilty

guilt ! ” [ No talking-thinking let’s just chop her head off on the hill ! [ You say the meaning lacks in ev’ry evidence we have [ We’ll save some time if we know there’s no meaning to be found ! [ The words don’t fit or so you think but nonsense to my Queen [ Prepare your mental for the blade that’ll cut your head and quick ! [ “ Dear sister ! Wake up now ! [ Dear sister ! It’s time to go ! ” [ “ Sister ! Wake up now ! [ Alice ! Alice ! Wake up ! It’s time ! [ Now ! Now ! Open your eyes now ! ” [ Hey ! It’s suppertime way back home [ Hey ! It’s summertime in your life ! END
