Special Program in Foreign LanguageProgram ObjectivesTo develop students’ skills in listening,
reading, writing, speaking and viewing as fundamental to acquiring communicative competence in a second foreign language;
To prepare students for meaningful interaction in a linguistic and culturally diverse global workplace; and
To develop their understanding and appreciation of other people’s culture.
Special Program in Foreign LanguageMechanicsA foreign language is tried out in the last 2
year levels of high school when students are deemed ready to manage learning a second foreign language
The subject is offered for 120 minutes weekly in the 3rd and 4th year levels. The subject earns 0.6 unit credit.
The subject takes the place of Career Pathways in TLE.
Special Program in Foreign Language
Assessment follows the principles of diagnostic, formative and summative assessments.
The subject appears in the Student Report Card in Year III as Basic Language Year IV as Intermediate Language
