Alive Tuning TDV6 EGR Bypass Kit  This document is scalable, so you can zoom into the pictures using the scroll wheel on your mouse for better clarity.  The kit consists of four parts; Two Exhaust Blank Plates, and two Inlet body blank plates.   Firstly, remove the oil filler cap, and pull the engine cover upwards, popping it off its four mountings. Now Refit the oil filler cap, to prevent anything from falling inside of the engine!  

 Remove the nut circled in red, with a 13mm spanner, then remove the Torx bolts holding the EGR pipes onto the air inlet body.  

  Remove the EGR Pipe retaining bolt (circled) on either side of the engine 

  Using some side cutters or a screwdriver, gently prise out the plastic retainer shown.   

  Now remove the two retaining bolts, holding the EGR pipe to the EGR valve at the exhaust manifold.   

  Pull the EGR pipe up, and away from the engine. Remove the O‐Rings from the air inlet end of the EGR pipe, and fit these onto the machined grooves on the two larger blank plates in the kit.   Fit the exhaust blank plates onto the exhaust manifolds. The mating surfaces should seal okay, but you can use a thin smear of exhaust jointing compound on the plate, just to be sure.

  As we did on the Right Hand Side of the engine, Remove the fasteners shown from the EGR pipe.   

  And remove the Torx bolts as on the other side. Access is much tighter on this side, so you may have to improvise to get a tool to fit. 

  Undo the jubilee clip, and pull the boost hose off the Air Inlet Plenum.   

  Using a screwdriver, prise the spring clip upwards to release the Plenum from the air inlet body.   

  The air inlet body will now tilt up slightly at the front to give better access, but take care not to pull it up too much!  Remove all four bolts holding the EGR butterfly modulator to the air inlet body.  

  Withdraw the modulator, and detach the plastic ball joint from the butterfly shaft.

  Using a flat stubby screwdriver, gently prise the EGR butterfly shaft away from the body...  

  And then, holding the EGR butterfly in your other hand, remove the shaft completely.  

  Take the butterfly out of the air inlet, and replace the shaft, and modulator, remembering to refit the plastic ball joint as well. 

  Fit the air intake blanks, ensuring the O‐Rings from the EGR Pipes have been fitted first. Re‐assemble the Air intake/Plenum assembly  

       Use cable ties to hold the cables in place, then refit the engine cover, and you’re done!
