Introduction to Apprenticeships
Being an apprentice means that you have a job that includes gaining recognised qualifications and essential skills whilst you are working and earning a wage.There are three types of Apprenticeships:
• Intermediate Apprenticeship• Advanced Apprenticeships• Higher Apprenticeships
The current minimum salary for an Apprentice is £3.40 per hour and they are expected to work a minimum of 30 hours per week.

Business Administration Apprenticeship
OverviewThe intermediate apprenticeship in business administration is a nationallyrecognised qualification suitable for anyone who is starting out on anadministrative career in a business or office environment.
The advanced apprenticeship in business administration is the next step up and is designed for apprentices who are taking on more responsibility and are starting to manage processes and people.
How is it delivered?These apprenticeships are delivered via regular 1:1 tutorials in the workplace, supported by online and paper-based training material

Different levels
Intermediate (Level 2) Apprenticeship in Business AdministrationIs suitable for anyone who is starting out on an administrative career in a business or office environment. - This will take approximately 12 months to complete.Advanced (Level 3) Apprenticeship in Business AdministrationIs designed for apprentices who are taking on more responsibility and are starting to manage processes and people – This will take approximately 16 months to complete Higher (Level 4) Apprenticeship in Business Administration Is a nationally recognised foundation degree level qualification suitable for anyone who is in charge of administrative teams and complex functions – This will take approximately 18-24 months

Progression
Business and administration can be a stepping stone towards more specialist apprenticeships such as accounts or team leading.
Learners who achieve a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Business Administration can progress onto the advanced or higher level Apprenticeship in the following areas:• Customer Service• Business Administration• Team Leading Some learners have progressed onto a different apprenticeship framework such as Customer Service at the same level.

Customer Service Apprenticeship
OverviewThe intermediate apprenticeship in customer service is a nationally recognised qualification suitable for anyone who is starting out on a customer service career. The advanced apprenticeship in customer service is the next step up and is designed for apprentices who are taking on more responsibility and are able to make decisions when dealing with customers. There is more independent learning at this level.
How is it delivered?These apprenticeships are delivered via regular 1:1 tutorials in the workplace, supported by online and paper-based training material

Progression
More specialist apprenticeships such as team leading or management can often follow on from customer service.
Learners who achieve a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Customer Service can progress onto the advanced or higher level Apprenticeship in areas such as:
• Customer Service• Business Administration• Team Leading Some learners have progressed onto a different apprenticeship framework such as Team Leading at the same level.
Career progression• Receptionist• Reservation consultant• Telesales or call centre operative• Food and beverage team member• Retail team member• Hotel concierge
