General Information

Bio: Yo wassup my name is Lithium but my bros call me Li. I’m three protons and one valence electron tall. I weigh in at 6.914 grams per mole, rock solid.

General Information Con’t.Yeah I’m the lead singer of the alkali

metal group, but its no big deal. Really I’m soft and light. Even silver white. I’m not really dense, so they don’t use me to make a fence. I made this track one time, called Nirvana.

My Daddy

My daddy did not love me until 1817. His name Johann August Arfvedson. He found me accidentally when he was foolin’ with my gang Petalite (LiAlSi4O10). He named me after the Greek word for stone lithionlithina.

Why am I Special? I am special because I have a little

something for everyone. Batteries use strips of me to contain the energy for easy access. Want drugs? I am used in most every methamphetamine recipe. I can even be used to make nuclear bombs. Shout out to Korea. I float on water and oil.

Important Things I’ve Done I started from the bottom, being

grease for World War II airplanes. AKA lithium grease

Then, during the cold war they started using me for Nuclear Fusion bombs. I was stockpiled.

In 2007, I turned over a new leaf and became lithium batteries. I work good here for now. That’s my other bro, the energizer bunny.

Important Things I’ve Done When compounded with glass, I

make heat resistant glass and ceramics. Also, I go on space craft due to my light weight.

Some of my salts can also be used as a mood stabilizing drug.

Important Compounds I Make I am so reactive, that I never appear

in nature freely and am always compounded.

I am reactive due to only having a single valence electron, which I give away freely.

The only way to keep me from compounding is slathering me in petroleum jelly.

When I am compounded with oxygen and water or water vapors, I explode.

Important Compounds I Make I am the only metal that will

compound with nitrogen under normal conditions.

Lithium can react inorganically to form strong bases with things like sulfur and chlorine
