ALL INDIA WEATHER BULLETIN (Evening)

Monsoon Watch

The withdrawal line of southwest monsoon continue to pass through Kalpa, Hissar, Jodhpur and Naliya.

Main Weather Observations

RAINFALL: (From 0830 hours IST of yesterday to 0830 hours IST of today): Rain/thundershowers has occurred at most

places overnortheastern states; atmany places over Jharkhand and Andaman & Nicobar Islands; at a few places over eastUttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat region and coastal Karnataka and at isolated places over Himachal

Pradesh, Uttarakhand, west Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Bihar, sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Saurashtra &

Kutch, Konkan & Goa, Marathawada, Vidarbha, interior Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamilnadu. Weather remained mainly

dry/dry over rest of the country. Chiefamounts of rainfall (2 cm or more) recorded at 0830 hours IST of today are: Dahanu-13;

Lumding-7; Dibrugarh and Fursatganj-6 each; Ratlam-5; Indore-, Passighat and Ranchi-4 each; Nagpur, Haldia, Guwahati,

Cherrapunji and Lengpui-3 each and Patna, Gaya, Canning, Malda, Kailashahar, Hirakud, Agartala, Panagarh, Mumbai(SCZ),

Satna, Betul, Seoni and Machilipatnam-2 each.

TEMPERATURES: Minimum temperatures are above normal by 4-6C over some parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal

Pradesh, Punjab, west Rajasthan, Gujarat region and isolated pockets of Uttarakhand, Haryana, east Rajasthan and by 2-3C

parts of Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Saurashtra & Kutch, coastal Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamilnadu. They are below

normal by 2-3C over isolated pockets of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam and near normal over rest parts of the country.

Kalpana-1: Cloud imagery at 1430 hours IST shows convective clouds over some parts of Chhattisgarh, south Bihar,

Jharkhand, Odisha, south Gujarat region, east Madhya Pradesh, north Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Gengetic West Bengal,

Arunachal Pradesh, eastcentral Bay of Bengal, Andaman Sea and east Arabian Sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over rest

parts of the country.

Meteorological Analysis based on 1430 hours IST

Morning's low pressure area over Tenasserim coast & neighbourhood now lies over Tenasserim coast &

adjoining north Andaman sea. It would concentrate into depression during next 24 hours and move slowly inwest-northwesterly direction initially. It would emerge in Andaman sea during next 24 hours and will intensify

further.

The upper air cyclonic circulation over northeast Madhya Pradesh & neighbourhood extending upto mid-

tropospheric levels persists.

The upper air cyclonic circulation over Assam & Meghalaya and neighbourhood extending upto 3.1 kms

above mean sea level persists.

The east-west trough from Assam & Meghalaya to Gujarat region across Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh

between 3.1 & 5.8 kms above mean sea level persists.
