Experience/proven ability to work with behaviour-designated, disengaged, and/or high-risk youth at the secondary level is preferred. Youth Care Worker, Drug & Alcohol Program Build a collection of resource materials on the subjects of tobacco, alcohol and drugs, to be used by staff when teaching drug and alcohol prevention – build relationships with at-risk students - become known to them as a support and advocate for them – provide information for students in need and refer them to appropriate agencies/resources – assist in coordinating events at school involving large groups of students, bringing awareness to drug, alcohol, and tobacco prevention (ex: anti-tobacco poster contest, invite speakers from ICBC to present the dangers of drinking and driving to Grade 8 students, etc.) General understanding of the middle-school model. Training and/or experience in Threat Assessment and Suicide Assessment an asset.
