INSTRUCTIONSThis class takes about an hour or more to be taught and introduces the passive voice, while

providing students with opportunities to discuss the theme of the song, its video and learnsome new expressions. It is intended for students beyond the low-intermediate level.

I suggest the following order of activities:

1 Teacher introduces the theme of love and invites them to listen to the song

2Students listen to the songand reorder the songs stanzas or verses (the lyrics are divided

in pairs of verses for them to be cut out).

3Teacher checks the order with the students and asks them if they know the meaning of the

    expressions in bold.

4Teacher introduces the glossaryso that students may get to know the meaning of all

expressions (skip this part if students already know the meaning of all expressions).5- Teacher checks the matching of the expressions with students and raises a discussionabout

the theme of the song. S/he can ask questions like:

Whats the name of the song? What is the song about? Do you agree with the its message?

Had you heard the singer before? What do you think the music video is about? Lets watch it?

If you have a slow group, you may want to use the two opinions about the song found in the

    SongMeanings website.

6Teacher plays the video(available in YouTube) and asks questions about the video:

What does the video add up in terms of message? Did you like the video and the song?

7Teacher tells students they will study a specific structure introduced in the first stanza of

the song (passive voice) and gives them the passive voice worksheet. Teacher guides students

    through the questions and answers.

8Teacher gives students the true and falseworksheet so that they have the opportunity to

get to know a little bit more about the song and practice their reading skills. The teacher may

want to work with the music-related vocabulary in bold if needed. Teacher asks students what

they learned in the class (expressions, passive voice etc) so that they have a sense of

    improvement.

"All Is Full of Love" features sounds inspired by machines, and is accompanied by orchestral instruments and

clavichord performed by Guy Sigsworth. It was first released as a dance single by Funkstrung with their remixes in

The song has been acclaimed ever since its release, with music critics calling it the highlight of the album, and also

The video starts with a robotic Bjrk lying on a white platform in the centre of a sterile room being assembled or

repaired by mechanical arms in what appears to be a clinic for robots. Even before finishing the assembly, the first
