I. BINDING

A. OUTLINE OF BIBLICAL USAGE

1. The Greek word for bind, “deo” de'-ō (Strong’s 1210) means:

a) to bind, fasten with chains, to throw into chains

i. Luke 13:16 (NKJV) “So ought not this

woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom

Satan has bound—think of it—for eighteen years,

be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?”

b) to bind, put under obligation, of the law, duty etc.

i. to be bound to one, a wife, a husband

c) to forbid, prohibit, declare to be illicit

B. TWO KINDS OF BINDING

1. There is a binding, which imprisons and chains something up, and

there is a wonderful, helpful side of binding that holds and heals.

a) In the Old Testament, the positive side of binding is shown in

the word “qashar” (ka-shar) which means

to tie (1)

gird (2)

confine (3)

compact (4)

bind (5)

conspire (6)

join together (7)

knit. (8)

b) This is the same Hebrew word used in the following

Scriptures referring to the value of God's wisdom and truth:

Let not mercy and truth forsake you; (1)

Bind them around your neck,

Write them on the tablet of your heart,

(Proverbs 3:3, NKJV).

(2) "Bind them {your father's God-given

commandments, (AMP)} continually upon your heart;

Tie them around your neck.” (Proverbs 6:2I, NKJV).

2. There is a good example of two different sides of binding in Isaiah

61:1 (KJV),

a) "The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the

Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek;

he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim

liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them

that are bound.”

b) The Hebrew word chabash, (khä·vash) translated as "bind"

in this verse, means to heal, bind up, wrap about, and hold

together. We read within the very same Scripture that spiritual

prison doors are to be opened to set free those the enemy has

bound (Hebrew: 'acar’ ä·sar'), made prisoner, held fast, girded

about, and kept.

c) So many people see only the side of binding that produces a

mental image of chaining up something so it can't hurt them.

Picture parents binding babies to their bodies with cloth

baby-wraps as were used in the sixties and seventies in the

United States, as well as in many other countries.

When that little one was bound to the parent, wherever the

parent went, the baby went. The baby had a distinct

personality and thoughts of its own, but it was bound to and

experiencing the more mature will of the parent.

If the parent went into sunshine and warmth, the baby went

into sunshine and warmth. If the parent came into the

presence of a sweet scent or a pleasant sound, the baby

smelled that same sweet scent and heard the same sound.

When the parent avoided dangerous situations, the baby

avoided danger. For all intents and purposes, the baby

became as one with the parent even though it was still an

individual entity.

For all intents and purposes, the baby became as one with

the parent even though it was still an individual entity.

d) Another word meaning "to bind" also means to compact

(sumbibazo süm-bē-bä'-zō in the Greek) (Strong’s 4822) as used

in Ephesians 4:16 (KJV),

"From whom (Christ) the whole body fitly joined together

and compacted (bound together) by that which every

joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the

measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto

the edifying of itself in love.”

e) Thayer's Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament

describes "compacted" as used here as to mean to cause to

coalesce, to join together, to put together into one whole.

11. Mathew 16:19 clearly tells us that Jesus said, “And I will give you the keys

of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound

in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

Christ’s giving of these keys in the first part of this verse represents

the giving of permission, authority and ability to enter into the

kingdom of heaven to transact spiritual business. The remainder of

the verse tells the believer how to transact that spiritual business.

12. Paul said (Acts 20:22, NKJV), And see, now I go bound (Greek: compelled

by his convictions to follow through on what he had determined the

Lord’s will was) in the spirit (Greek: the power by which a human being feels,

thinks, wills, decides, i.e. the soul) to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that will

happen to me there.”

This a powerful translation of Paul’s feeling compelled in his

soul to do the Lord’s will.

13. Strong’s #6960 tells us that the Hebrew word translated “wait” in Isaiah

40:31 is qavah (kaw-vaw).

Page 9: ALL MANNER OF PRAYER Binding and Loosing...bound (Hebrew: 'acar’ ä·sar'), made prisoner, held fast, girded about, and kept. c) So many people see only the side of binding that

“But those who wait on the LORD

Shall renew their strength;

They shall mount up with wings like eagles,

They shall run and not be weary,

They shall walk and not faint.”

i. This Hebrew word means to bind together; to gather

together; and to expect. What a wonderful concept we could

figuratively draw from these definitions: that by binding

ourselves collectively to God and His will and purposes

(having gathered together), we could corporately expect to

rise above our circumstances and renew our strength to run

without getting weary.

things do those keys represent to us?

C. TWO KINDS OF BINDING CHART HOLDS AND HEALS IMPRISONS AND CHAINS SOMETHING UP

1) “Let not mercy and truth forsake you;

Bind them around your neck,

Write them on the tablet of your heart,”

(Proverbs 3:3, NKJV).

Psalm 45:1 (KJV) “My heart is inditing a good matter: I

speak of the things which I have made touching the

king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.”

Indite: to put down in writing; compose and write

These verses state that the tongue is a pen and the

heart is a tablet. When we speak the Word of God out

loud, in faith, we are writing it on the heart.

1) Luke 13:16 (NKJV)

16 So ought not this woman, being a daughter of

Abraham, whom Satan has bound—think of it—for

eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the

Sabbath?”

2) "Bind them {your father's God-given

commandments, (AMP)}

continually upon your heart;

Tie them around your neck.”

(Proverbs 6:21 NKJV).

2) Isaiah 61:1 “The opening of the prison to them that are bound.”

3) Ephesians 4:16 (KJV), "From whom (Christ) the whole body fitly joined together and compacted (bound together) by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.”

The Greek word used here for compact means to cause to coalesce, to join together, to put together into one whole.

4) Isaiah 40:31 “But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.”

The Hebrew word used here for wait means to bind together; to gather together; and to expect.

5) Ephesians 4:16 (KJV), "From whom (Christ) the whole body fitly joined together and compacted (bound together) by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.”

A GOOD EXAMPLE OF TWO DIFFERENT SIDES OF BINDING IN ISAIAH 61:1 (KJV)

6) “He hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,” “The opening of the prison to them that are bound.”

Page 11: ALL MANNER OF PRAYER Binding and Loosing...bound (Hebrew: 'acar’ ä·sar'), made prisoner, held fast, girded about, and kept. c) So many people see only the side of binding that

II. BASIC BINDING PRINCIPLE

A. BIND YOUR WILL TO THE WILL OF GOD

1. This is not a once and for all thing. It requires repeated efforts to

keep your will at the foot of the Cross, for it keeps trying to sneakily

creep away every chance it gets.

a) Ephesians 2:10 (AMP) says, “For we are God’s [own]

handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus,

[born anew] that we may do those good works which

God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking

paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should

walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged

and made ready for us to live].”

b) This verse offers tremendous insight into what God desires

after salvation.

i. . God calls us His workmanship or His artwork, from

the Greek word poiēma (poi'-ā-mä). We are

something crafted, with skill and a purpose, by God,

for His purposes. Specifically, we are "created in

Christ Jesus for good works." Good works do not give

us salvation, but they are absolutely meant to be the

result of salvation.

ii. Planned beforehand –

(G4282 proetoimazo pro-e-toi-mä'-zō ) means to

ordain before, to make ready in advance or to be

made ready beforehand.

iii. God prepared what He wanted us to do for Him long

ago. He has already planned what He wants us to do

with our lives. We do not need to copy what someone

else has done or is doing. He has a unique plan for

each of us to serve Him in this world. This includes

Page 12: ALL MANNER OF PRAYER Binding and Loosing...bound (Hebrew: 'acar’ ä·sar'), made prisoner, held fast, girded about, and kept. c) So many people see only the side of binding that

certain spiritual gifts and the work of the Holy Spirit in

our lives to lead us in service to Him.

c) We are all allowed our own choices.

i. A right choice (one that agrees with His plans for us)

will always lead us into the good works, the good

paths, the good life that He has purposed for us to

enjoy.

ii. A wrong choice will always lead us away from our

preordained destiny as overcomers, saints, and

winners.

iii. All choices have consequences. (1) Right choices create good consequences.

(2) Wrong choices create difficult consequences.

d) We must choose to believe that God’s Word is true and

forever. We must bind ourselves to this truth, driving it into

our souls like a stake that can never be pulled up.

e) God has already set His will for everything, everyone, every

time, every place, in heaven. When we pray and bind

ourselves and others involved in certain circumstances to

God’s will, God’s will can be manifested on the earth in the

situation.

2. As saved people, according to Ephesians 2:10, who are we?

_____________________________________________________

_____________________________________________________

a) What are we to do?

_____________________________________________________

_____________________________________________________

_____________________________________________________

3. Since God has a predestined plan for my life, I don’t have to make any

choices. True or False? Why? __________________________________

B. PRAYER EXAMPLES

Lord, I'm standing on the truth of Your Word: You said You would give me

the Keys of the Kingdom, that whatever I would bind on earth would be

bound in heaven and whatever I would loose on earth would be loosed in

heaven.

In the name of Jesus Christ, I bind my body, soul, and spirit to the

will and purposes of God.

I bind myself to the truth of God.

I bind myself to an awareness of the power of the blood of Jesus

working in my life every day.

I bind my mind to the mind of Christ so I can have the thoughts,

purposes, and feelings of His mind and heart in me.

I bind my feet to the paths You have ordained for me to walk, God,

that my steps will be strong and steady.

I bind myself to the work of the cross with all of its mercy, truth,

love, power, forgiveness, and dying to self. I know that this is where

the power to become a new creature in Christ lies.

I bind myself to the attitudes of Jesus Christ.

I bind my (wounded, battered, ragged, negative) emotions to the

healing and comforting balance of Your Holy Spirit.

I bind myself to the healing stripes Jesus bore for me.

I bind myself Father God, to Your timing.

I bind my emotions to Your balance and control, Holy Spirit.

I bind my mind to your mind, Jesus. I want your thoughts to be able

to nudge me back into right thinking whenever I get confused.

I bind my feelings, Father God, to Your Holy Spirit because the

Bible tells me He is the Comforter.

III. LOOSING

A. OUTLINE OF BIBLICAL USAGE

To loose any person (or thing) tied or fastened

a) bandages of the feet, the shoes

b) of a husband and wife joined together by the bond of matrimony

c) of a single man, whether he has already had a wife or has not yet married

1. to loose one bound, i.e. to unbind, release from bonds, set free

a) of one bound up (swathed in bandages) a) Lazarus raised from the dead

John 11:38-44 Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go.”

i. b) bound with chains (a prisoner), discharge from prison, let go

2. to loosen, undo, dissolve, anything bound, tied, or compacted together

a) an assembly, i.e. to dismiss, break up

b) laws, as having a binding force, are likened to bonds

c) to annul, subvert

d) to do away with, to deprive of authority, whether by precept or act

e) to declare unlawful

f) to loose what is compacted or built together, to break up, demolish,

destroy

g) to dissolve something coherent into parts, to destroy

B. YOU ARE LOOSED FROM YOUR INFIRMITY

1. Read Luke 13:10-17 (NKJV) 10 Now He was teaching in one of the

synagogues on the Sabbath. 11

And behold, there was a woman who

had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and

could in no way raise herself up. 12

But when Jesus saw her, He

called her to Him and said to her, “Woman, you are loosed from

your infirmity.” 13

And He laid His hands on her, and immediately

she was made straight, and glorified God.

14 But the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation,

because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath; and he said to the

crowd, “There are six days on which men ought to work; therefore

come and be healed on them, and not on the Sabbath day.”

15 The Lord then answered him and said, “Hypocrite! Does not

each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or donkey from the

stall, and lead it away to water it? 16

So ought not this

woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound—

think of it—for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the

Sabbath?” 17

And when He said these things, all His adversaries

were put to shame; and all the multitude rejoiced for all the

glorious things that were done by Him.

C. PULLING DOWN STRONGHOLDS

1. When your intent is to see things on earth brought into alignment

with God’s plans in heaven, you will get results every time. If your

intent is to see things on earth loosed that are outside of or in

conflict with His will and plans in heaven, God will move to realign

things accordingly.

2. It is very encouraging that this way of praying never requires you to

judge situations (or other people’s motives) in order to bind what

needs to be bound to God’s will in heaven. In any situation, you

can simply bind yourself and any others involved to His will, and

then loose soulish agendas, stronghold thinking, and wrong

agreements that are not in alignment with His will.

3. Every believer comes to Christ with certain mind sets of

misinformation. The mind is not instantly renewed at the moment of

new birth.

a) Scripturally correct teaching will not automatically clear up

wrong ideas. Truth can be twisted when it has to filter its way

through a mind filled with strongholds.

b) Elijah, the prophet of fire, had at least one wrong mind set and

stronghold that caused him to run and hide when the right

circumstances played out.

c) Existing strongholds are always reinforced when a believer

chooses to ignore God’s plea to tear them down.

i. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (NKJV) tells us, “For though we

walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the

flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal

but mighty in God for pulling down

strongholds, casting down arguments and every high

thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God,

bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience

of Christ,”

ALL MANNER OF PRAYER Binding and Loosing

d) Strongholds can exist even in those who deeply love the Lord.

i. Some realize they are there, but they’ve given up on

destroying them – deception.

ii. There are those who only know that something is wrong,

but they believe it is guilt over having failed –

discouragement.

iii. There are those who refuse to admit anything is wrong,

denying the reality of their pain and despair – denial.

e) Strongholds can be torn down by any believer!

f) The word, “loose,” in Mathew 16:19 means to destroy and

demolish. There is great power in praying to loose the

strongholds in your soul.

4. Loosing is the key that can blow away every stronghold, argument,

and high thing that tries to exalt itself between believers and a full

knowledge of their loving God and His ways.

5. How can truth be twisted? ________________________________

_____________________________________________________

_____________________________________________________

6. Binding and loosing praying never requires you to _____________

situations (or other people’s motives) in order to bind what needs to

be bound to God’s will in heaven.

7. How are existing strongholds reinforced? ___________________

8. What special title is needed to tear down strongholds? _________

D. SETTING THE CAPTIVES FREE

1. Binding and loosing prayers are very effective for helping unsaved,

backslidden, and rebellious loved ones to come to Christ.

Those who are in confusion, guilt, unbelief, anger, depression,

deception, and/or any other form of torment are captives of their

natural minds, which are being controlled by their old nature. These

people are following an internal, destructive script that God did not

write.

2. The right mind:

a ) Receives the Word and its promises with all readiness

(Acts 17:11, KJV)

b ) Is capable of serving the law of God

(Romans 7:25,NIV)

c) Is a willing mind (2 Corinthians 8:12, NKJV)

d) Is a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7, NKJV)

e) Has a renewed attitude (Ephesians 4:23, AMP)

f) Is the same mind, which is in Christ Jesus (1 Corinthians

2:16; Philippians 2:5 KJV)

3. The right mind is in unity with the mind of Christ. Any believer can

partake of that unity; it is a matter of desiring to do so. The partaking

described in 2 Peter 1:4 (AMP) tells us that:

“By means of these He has bestowed on us His precious and

exceeding great promises, so that through them you may escape

[by flight] from the moral decay (rottenness and corruption)

that is in the world because of covetousness (lust and greed),

and become sharers (partakers) of the divine nature.”

The Greek words translated as “partaker” mean participant,

associate, companion, fellowship.

4. What can you do for someone else who has never been willing to

surrender to the attitudes and patterns of thinking in Christ’s mind?

a) Stand on the promise of Matthew 16:19, “Whatsoever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and bind their minds to the mind of Christ. It is the will of God that their minds would be one with Christ’s mind.

1) There are many reasons people reject help: i. Too proud ii. Rejected before iii. Don’t believe it iv. Won’t work for them, etc.

b) These people have been deceived and have all

understanding blocked from their blinded minds.

c) 2 Corinthians 4:4 (KJV) tells us, “The god of this world

hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light

of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is in the image of God,

should shine unto them.”

d) Those who under this blindness do not recognize truth, or

they never knew it in the first place. They are not in a right mind.

They cannot see, believe, or understand God’s help

5. How do you help someone who rejects the only true source of

help?

a) Don’t condemn them for not understanding or believing, and don’t

argue with them. They don’t believe they are rejecting truth; they

believe they are rejecting falseness.

b) Go to a quiet place and bind them to the truth and loose wrong

patterns of thinking and beliefs from them so they can receive the

truth.

c. Your arguments and battles are not with the loved ones you long to

reach. Your battle is in the spiritual realm, loosing the wrong things

from your loved one’s old nature and destroying the strongholds

they have built to protect those things. Bind your loved one to the

grace, love, mercy, power, authority, forgiveness, and dying-to-self

work of the cross. Bind their feet to paths of righteousness to

steady their steps.

d. In the name of Jesus, loose (crush, smash, shatter, disrupt,

dissolve, and destroy) the lies and deceptions the enemy has told

them. Tear down the wrong attitudes and patterns of thinking along

with the strongholds protecting them. Loose the evil imaginations

the enemy has set up in their minds.

e. Continue loosing until the Holy Spirit reveals they have begun to

take over praying for their own freedom.

f. You can only accomplish a complete stripping and tearing down of

strongholds in your own old nature. You can definitely and

powerfully impact someone else’s old nature, but you cannot

completely crucify that old nature.

g. You can bind them to the things of God, stabilizing and steadying

them while their minds focus on what they’re hearing from the mind

of Christ.

h. With prayers of loosing, you can undermine the strongholds in their

old nature, and you can undercut the enemy’s deceptions.

6. List three ways to describe the right mind.

E. LOOSING THE GRAVE CLOTHES

1. Through your prayers of binding and loosing, you are rolling

away the stones and tearing the grave clothes off them.

a) What are the grave clothes?

Grave clothes are put on someone by others - (1)

slander, gossip, rumors, character assassination, lies.

Once you loose the grave clothes from them, then the (2)

final steps belong to those you have prayed for.

b) Jesus did not call out to Lazarus to roll away his own stone.

Jesus told the people who had put it in place to roll it away.

When the stone was gone and Lazarus heard Jesus’ (1)

voice call him, he stepped out of his tomb.

But he was still bound in grave clothes. But Jesus did not (2)

tell Lazarus to remove or loose the grave clothes himself.

Jesus told the people around Lazarus to loose the grave (3)

clothes and set him free.

After the people obeyed this command, they stepped (4)

back and Lazarus walked fully forth into life.

He made the final choice, and the people cleared his (5)

path so he could.

IV. PRAYER EXERCISE

Pray this prayer for your loved ones to help them overcome the control of their

unsurrendered souls and the influence of the enemy.

“In the name of Jesus Christ, I bind _______ body, soul and spirit to the will and

purposes of God for his/her life. I bind _______’s mind, will and emotions to the

will of God. I bind him/her to the truth and to the blood of Jesus. I bind his/her

mind to the mind of Christ, that the very thoughts, feelings and purposes of His

heart would be within his/her thoughts. I bind ______’s feet to the paths of

righteousness so that his/her steps would be steady and sure. I bind him/her to

the work of the cross with all its mercy, grace, love, forgiveness, and dying to

self.

I loose every old, wrong, ungodly pattern of thinking, attitude, idea, desire, belief,

motivation, and every wrong mind/body agreement he/she has about wrong

behaviors. I tear down, crush, smash and destroy every stronghold associated

with these things. I loose every stronghold in his/her that has been justifying and

protecting hard feelings against anyone. I loose the strongholds of

unforgiveness, fear, and distrust from him/her.

I loose the power and effects of wrong agreements from ______. I loose

deceptions and lies from _______’s mind and I loose the effects and influences

of any soul ties he/she has with other people. I loose the confusion and

blindness of the god of this world from _______”s mind that has kept him from

seeing the light of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I call forth every word of Scripture

that has ever entered into his/her mind and heart, that it would rise up in power

within him/her.

In the name of Jesus, I loose the power and effects of any harsh or hard words

(word curses) spoken to, about or by _______. I loose all generational bondage

thinking and associated strongholds from _______. I loose all grave clothes from

him/her. I loose all effects and bondages from him/her that may have been

caused by mistakes I have made.

Father, in the name of Jesus, I crush, smash and destroy generational bondages

of any kind from mistakes made at any point between generations. They will not

bind and curse any more members of this family.

I bind and loose these things in Jesus’ name. He has given me the keys and the

authority to do so. Thank You, Lord for the truth. Amen.”

V. WHAT RIGHT DO WE HAVE TO BIND OTHERS?

1. What gives us the right to bind another person's will to God's will?

Or another person's mind to the mind of Christ?

2. Some say that binding another's person's will to the will of

God was witchcraft. However, witchcraft is always an attempt by

someone to control another person's will for personal gain. There is

no personal gain in binding someone's will to the will of God.

a) Proverbs 24:11-12, KJV: "If thou forbear to deliver them that

are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain; if

thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that

pondereth the heart consider it? And he that keepeth thy

soul, doth not he know it? And shall not he render to every

man according to his works?"

b) Proverbs 24:11-I2, AMP: "Deliver those who are drawn away

to death, and those who totter to the slaughter hold back from their

doom. If you profess ignorance and say, Behold, we did not know

this, does not He Who weighs and ponders the hearts perceive and

consider it? And He Who guards your life, does not He know it?

And shall not He render to you and every man according to his

works?"

c) Proverbs 24:11-I2, NIV: "Rescue those being led away to

death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter. If you say, 'But

we knew nothing about this,' does not he who weighs the heart

perceive it? Does not he who guards your life know it? Will he not

repay each person according to what he has done?"

d) Proverbs 24:11-I2, The Message: "Rescue the perishing;

don't hesitate to step in and help. If you say, 'Hey, that's none of my

business,' will that get you off the hook? Someone is watching you

closely, you know - Someone not impressed with weak excuses."

e) Jude 23, KJV: "Others save with fear, pulling them out of the

fire..."

f) Jude 23, TAB: "Strive to save others..."

g) Jude 23, NIV: "Snatch others from the fire..."

h) Jude 23, The Message: "Go after those who take the wrong

way..."

3. These verses are not speaking of people being drug into hell

because of the devil. All who stand at the edge of his fire stand there as a

result of wrong, free-will choices they have made in order to walk in paths

of destruction. God will not violate or cross their free wills because of His

own reasons, but God's Word is clearly telling us one thing: We are to do

nearly anything we can to stop them!

Do not forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death!

Those who totter to the slaughter, hold back from their doom!

Rescue those being led away to death!

Hold back those staggering toward slaughter!

Rescue the perishing, don't hesitate to step in and help!

Pull them out of the fire!

Strive to save them!

Snatch them from the fire!

Go after them!

4. Be aggressive on your knees. . Begin to bind and loose for those lost

lambs every chance you get.

There won't be any excuses we're capable of coming up with that

will be able to explain away a lack of our own accountability when

God says, "What did you do to prevent that lamb's death

sentence?"

5. What gives us the right to bind another person's will to God's will?

Or another person's mind to the mind of Christ?

VII. BINDING AND LOOSING PRAYERS

2. SELF PRAYER 1

In the name of Jesus Christ, I bind my body, soul and spirit to the

will and purposes of God. I bind myself to the truth of God. I bind

myself to the awareness of the power of the blood of Jesus working

in my life every day. I bind my mind to the mind of Christ so I can

have the thoughts, purposes and feelings of His mind and heart in

me. I bind my feet to the paths you have ordained for me to walk,

God, that my steps will be strong and steady. I bind myself of the

work of the cross with all its mercy, truth, love, power, forgiveness,

and dying to self. I know that this is where the power to become a

new creature in Christ, lies.

Lord, I repent of having wrong attitudes and thoughts; I renounce them now and ask your forgiveness. I loose every old, wrong, pattern of thinking, attitude, idea, desire, belief, habit and behavior that may still be working in me. I tear down, crush, smash and destroy every stronghold I have erected to protect them. I bind myself to the attitudes of Jesus Christ.

Father, I loose the power and the effects of any harsh or hard words, or any word curses, spoken about me, to me or by me. I loose any stronghold thinking still connected to them. I loose all generational bondage thinking from myself. Thank you, Jesus, that you have promised that whatever I bind and loose on earth that is in accordance with the will of the Father, will be bound and loosed in heaven, Amen.

3. SELF PRAYER 2 Lord, I’m standing on the truth of your Word. You said that you would give me the Keys of the Kingdom, that whatever I would bind on earth would be bound in heaven and whatever I loose on earth, will be loosed in heaven. Right now, in the name of Jesus Christ, I bind my will to the will of God so that I will be constantly aware of His purposes for my life. I bind myself to the truth of God that I will not be deceived by the lies of the world and the devil.

I bind myself to the blood of Jesus, that I will never take it for granted. I want to be constantly aware of its miracle-working power to restore and heal me. I bind myself to the mind of Christ that I will be aware of how Jesus would have me think in every situation that I come into this day. I do not want to react out of my own human, carnal thoughts, when unsettling situations arise suddenly, I want to think and act as Jesus would.

I bind my feet to the paths of righteousness that my steps will be steady and true all day long. I bind myself to the work of the cross in my life so that I will continue to die daily to my own selfish desires and motivations and be more like Him. I bind and loose these things in the name of Jesus Christ, who has given me the keys to do so. Thank you, Lord, for the truth. Amen.

4. GENERATIONAL BONDAGE THINKING

“Lord, I'm standing on the truth of Your Word: You said You would give me

the Keys of the Kingdom, that whatever I would bind on earth would be

bound in heaven and whatever I would loose on earth would be loosed in

heaven.

In the name of Jesus Christ, I bind my body, soul, and spirit to the will and

purposes of God. I bind myself to the truth of God. I bind myself to an

awareness of the power of the blood of Jesus working in my life every day.

I bind my mind to the mind of Christ so I can have the thoughts, purposes,

and feelings of His mind and heart in me. I bind my feet to the paths You

have ordained for me to walk, God, that my steps will be strong and

steady.

I bind myself to the work of the cross with all of its mercy, truth, love,

power, forgiveness, and dying to self. I know that this is where the power

to become a new creature in Christ lies.

to be around Your people. I loose the lies the enemy has brought him/her

into agreement with that have clouded his/her mind about Your people.

I bind _______ to every word of Scripture that he/she has ever heard.

Father, You have said that Your Word will never return unto You void. The

Word that I know he/she has heard in the past, the Word You sent forth to

him/her for Your purposes, I ask that You call it up from the bottom of

I loose all generational bondages, religious bondages, fleshly bondages,

and soul ties from him/her. Lord, in Jesus' name, I cut, sever, slash, and

break the bondages of the world from him/her. I bind _______ to the truth

of recognizing the depression, discouragement, and dishonesty that

comes from believing the lies of his/her unsurrendered soul and the devil.

Move upon _______ by Your Holy Spirit, Lord, and draw him/her to

Yourself. Lead Christians across his/her path who are similar enough to

interest him/her, yet different enough to intrigue him/her. Cause angels to

minister to him/her, getting his/her attention in supernatural ways. You are

such a great and mighty God. I am so grateful that You desire to save all

those who will give You even the smallest opening in their spirits. I believe

that nearly every non-believer wants someone to prove that You are real.

Let me be part of that proof to whomsoever You would bring my way. In

Jesus' name, Amen.

6. PRAYER FOR FAMILY MEMBERS

I know I am to love my family with the love that springs from You, Lord. If I

do not or cannot seem to love every single one of them, I have not entered

into any real depth of relationship with You. There is no way I could not

love them if I have made room for Your love to fill me. Your love is alive

and active, like Your Word, and it does not sleep or hide. It is always

gently pushing to flow out of any vessel You have filled.

Lord, if love is not coming out of me and flowing towards even the most

difficult members of my family, then I am in the greatest need myself.

I bind myself to Your will, purposes, truth, mind, mercy, grace, and love. I

loose from my life - the soulish irritation, frustration, resentment, jealousy,

anger, hatred, unforgiven offenses, etc. I loose the velcro backing off my

soul's desires for retribution - I rip it off and shatter its hold on me! I will no

longer seek to settle scores with any family member!

Help me to become a vessel of love and understanding to those who have

put down my faith and made fun of me. Help me to see that these put-

downs are really cries from deep inside of them, pleading with me to prove

that they are wrong about my trust in You. Help me to increase my prayers

for the ones who are "crying" at me the loudest. Help me to change, so I

can show them that God can change their lives - and the proof is me!

I bind my parents (and in-laws) to Your will and purposes. I ask that You

increase the faith and knowledge of Christ in the ones who know You. I

bind all family members who do not have a personal relationship with You

to Your will and Your truth.

Please send angels, Christians, circumstances, and grace into the lives of

those who once knew You, but have turned away to walk the paths of the

world. I bind them to the paths You have ordained for them to walk in -

straight back to You! I will no longer mourn and grieve over their fate, for I

know You will move to bring them back into Your family.

I bind my children to Your will and purposes. Surround them with mercy

and grace, even with hedges and thorns' if they are trying to pursue the

ways of the world. I know the sinful behaviors they are acting out are

being manifested out of unmet needs, unhealed hurts, and unresolved

issues in their lives. I loose the layers of self-protection that they have built

Page 34: ALL MANNER OF PRAYER Binding and Loosing...bound (Hebrew: 'acar’ ä·sar'), made prisoner, held fast, girded about, and kept. c) So many people see only the side of binding that

up over these areas of vulnerability that they perceive as weaknesses. I

ask that You pour Your healing grace into their souls so that they will know

You have healed them and made them whole.

I believe they are headed right to You, the God of the universe, the Author

of their creation. I believe they are realizing right now that they have been

created by Your special design to fulfill awesome purposes and plans that

will bring them great joy.

I ask for their salvation, Father, according to Your will.

For Jesus has told us in the written Word that it is not Your wish that any

should perish, but that all should come to know You. Lord, You want them

saved - l want them saved - and I believe down in their deepest, most

inner parts, they want to be saved.

I believe in the mighty power of agreement in accordance with Your will.

I'm agreeing with You and with that smoldering spark in their spirits, no

matter how small, that they will all be gloriously, wonderfully filled with faith

and saved. I believe nothing can prevent this supernatural miracle from

occurring in their lives! In Jesus' name, Amen

7. THE DOCTOR’S REPORT

A doctor's bad report, serious x-rays, and negative test results are facts

that you don't have to deny. You can step out of the center of the negative

natural situation and over onto the positive supernatural promises of God's

Word and say, "Yes, doctor, I do see and understand what you're telling

me. I see that x-ray and those test results, and I surely do trust your ability

to diagnose me in the natural. But you see, I have a supernatural God and

I am going to now go and ask Him what He and I are going to do with

those natural facts. After I get a second opinion from Him, I'll get back to

you."

You don't have to deny natural negative facts surrounding you - if they

exist, they're there. You just have to say, "Father, I'm binding myself

and these natural facts to Your will and purposes for my life right

now. I don't know how to handle them, so please help me." And then

believe that He will fulfill His part in heaven.

Page 35: ALL MANNER OF PRAYER Binding and Loosing...bound (Hebrew: 'acar’ ä·sar'), made prisoner, held fast, girded about, and kept. c) So many people see only the side of binding that

People are being told today that they have all kinds of diseases and

infections. Those diagnoses don't mean anything to God. What's important

to God is that you come out of agreement with diagnoses that don't fit into

His destiny plans for you. It is also important to come into alignment body,

soul, and spirit with His plans for you. Your healing may have already

been sent with a delivery attempt made. If there was no room to receive it,

it went down to the corner to the Holy Ghost Mini Storage. I believe that

place is full of healings, full of answers, full of blessings. Get ready to

receive yours.

8. GOD’S PROVISION

Jesus, forgive my words of doubt and negativity.

I loose all of the wrong attitudes and patterns of thinking I have about

money. I bind myself to Your truth that You are my provider and all of my

help comes from You.

Help me understand the truth about letting the Word renew my mind and

my attitude about Your provision and my real needs.

Your Word says if I sow sparingly, I will reap sparingly. Help me to see if I

am holding back what I need to share.

Let me become a channel of Your abundance. You are able and willing to

make all grace come toward me, not so I will indulge myself, but so I will

have more than enough in all things so I can give and do and help every

good work. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

9. FINANCES

Father God, according to Your Word in Matthew 16: 19, I now choose to

bind myself to Your will and purposes for my life.

I bind my mind to the mind of Christ that I might begin to think more like

He thinks, and I bind my raggedy emotions to the healing balance of the

Holy Spirit.

I bind myself to the truth that You will always provide for me, unless I block

Your provision by the wrong thoughts in my unsurrendered soul.

I now choose to loose, smash, crush, and destroy all generational patterns

of thinking I have accepted and continued to perpetuate in my own mind. I

loose all wrong patterns of thinking about finances and Your provision that

I have held onto and reinforced by rehearsing them over and over

mentally and verbally.

I loose deception from my mind, will, and emotions. I choose to seek the

truth about Your love and provision and faithfulness in Your Word so that I

can reprogram my deceptive thinking about money.

I loose all denial that I have held onto that has kept me from seeing my

own faults in my financial situation. Thank You, Lord, for the Keys of the

Kingdom that will help me begin to think as I should. In Jesus' Name,

Amen.

10. PRAYER FOR MINISTRY

Lord, I am so grateful that You have saved me, are healing and teaching

me how to walk in the Spirit, and that You are going to use me in the

manner for which You created me. I bind my body, soul, and spirit to Your

will and purposes for my life. I bind my mind to the mind of Christ, I bind

my will to Your will, and I bind my emotions to the control of the Holy

Spirit.

I bind my feet to the paths You have ordained for me to walk: to the

mountains and to the valleys, to the continents and to the islands, to the

dark alley ways and to the bright streets.

I loose all preconceived ideas and patterns of thinking that I have ever had

about “my" ministry, or about other's ministries that I have either coveted

or not understood.

I surrender all my dreams, visions, plans, and preparations to Your will. I

loose any wrong attitudes, motives, or desires that my soul is holding on

to. I loose all of the offenses I've ever held on to, all of the unforgiveness,

all of the hurt feelings from when I felt I was being overlooked.

Lord, I want my one desire for ministry to be that Your will is always able

to be accomplished in and prospered through my life. I know that I need to

be a clean, empty vessel in order for that to happen. I want to be emptied

out of all of the things of this world, of my old nature, of man’s ways and

plans, of preconceived ideas, of religious and doctrinal mind-sets I have

Page 37: ALL MANNER OF PRAYER Binding and Loosing...bound (Hebrew: 'acar’ ä·sar'), made prisoner, held fast, girded about, and kept. c) So many people see only the side of binding that

allowed to form in my soul. I don't want to leak out any ungodly mixture

into my ministry, only a flowing forth of the anointing of Your Holy Spirit.

Let the fruit of Your Holy Spirit fill me as I loose and strip away the old

grave clothes of my soul. I want to show forth the unique characteristics

You have formed in me, but I don't want any attitude to frame them except

love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness,

and self-control. Your Word says that those who belong to Christ will be

able to manifest these fruits of the Spirit, because they have crucified their

sinful nature with its old passions and desires. Lord, I loose the control

and power of my old nature - my unsurrendered soul - and I loose all

wrong desires and passions from my unsurrendered will.

Let me minister Your love to those I come in contact with every day. Let

me remember that love never fails, it is always patient and kind. It does

not envy, it does not boast, nor is it proud. Love is never rude or self-

seeking, not easily angered. Lord, above all else, teach me to remember

that love keeps no record of wrongs and offenses.

I loose, crucify, sever, and strip away my soul's desire to keep files and

accounts on others who have rubbed me the wrong way.

Show me how to desire only to protect others in their struggles, instead of

wanting to expose their faults. I know Your Holy Spirit in me can always

protect me, so I can offer non-judgmental trust to all. Let me remember to

always keep giving out Your love to the world, showing them how You

have changed my life.

Father, keep turning up the heat of Your refining fire to get all dross out of

me. I want to be as pure as the finest gold that is nearly transparent. Only

then will others see just Jesus in every act of ministry that I manifest.

I bind myself to the paths You have ordained for me to walk, to Your

timing, as well as to the paths, places, doors, divine appointments, and

assignments You have purposed for me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
