All of these are active sensors. They inject energy (light, microwaves or sound) into theenvironment in order to detect a change of some sort.

The "motion sensing" feature on most lights (and security systems) is a passive system thatdetects infrared energy . These sensors are therefore known as PIR (passive infrared) detectors

or pyroelectric sensors. In order to make a sensor that can detect a human being, you need tomake the sensor sensitive to the temperature of a human body. Humans, having a skintemperature of about 93 degrees F, radiate infrared energy with a wavelength between 9 and 10micrometers. Therefore, the sensors are typically sensitive in the range of 8 to 12 micrometers.

This PIR Sensor Switch Can Detect the Infrared Raysreleased by Human Body Motion within the DetectionArea (14 Meters), and Start the Load - LightAutomatically. This Unit is Suitable for Outdoor Use(Corridor, Staircase, Courtyard etc..).

Electricity : It has been estimated that asingle unit of energy saved at the end use point isequal to 2.3 units of energy produced. If energyefficient methods are implemented properly about25000mw equivalent capacity of power can be createdthrough promotion of energy efficient measures.

    PIRSensor :

3 A PIR Sensor is a Passive Infrared Sensor which controlsthe switching on/off of the lighting load when it detects amoving target.

3 The built in sensor turns on/off the connected lightingload when it detects motion in the coverage area. It hasdifferent working principle during the day time and the nighttime.

3 During the day, the built in photocell sensor saveselectricity by deactivating the lighting load connected to thesensor.

3 During the night the connected lighting load is turned onby adjusting the luminosity knob (LUX).

3 A n adjustable time knob lets you select how long the light stayson after activation.

Working Principle :- 3 The PIR Sensor senses the motion of a human body by thechange in surrounding ambient temperature when a humanbody passes across.

3 Then it turns on the lighting load to which it isconnected. 3 The lighting load remain on until it sensesmotion.

3 Once the motion is seized it switches off the lighting load.

3 During the night, the LUX adjustment knob allows you toadjust the luminosity based on which the lighting load willeither switch on/off automatically.
