This program, a collaboration withthe Connecticut Children’s Museum,is designed for people who areinterested in becoming licensed torun family child care programs intheir homes.

Through this program, participantsreceive materials, mentorship andsupport and are guided through theprocess of becoming licensed familychild care providers. Each participantreceives four boxes, one for eachstep of the journey, full of materials,books and resources.

We encourage both aspiring andexperienced family child care providersto join the All Our Kin Family Child CareNetwork. The Network offers a widerange of professional developmentopportunities and services at no cost toall family child care providers who arecommitted to learning and growing asearly childhood professionals. Providerswho haven’t participated in the Tool KitLicensing Program are also encouragedto join the Network.

The All Our Kin Network, a diverse andengaged learning community, offersproviders a space to convene, learntogether, and socialize. Providers formfriendships, share experiences,strategize about challenging situations,and meet regularly to learn and growtogether.

OF SPECIAL INTEREST FORNEW NETWORK MEMBERS

Network Meetings and TrainingsAll Our Kin has a professionaldevelopment program that runsthroughout the school year and offersproviders multiple opportunities tosharpen their knowledge about earlychildhood education. The Networkmeets monthly, allowing providers tobuild community, socialize, and learnabout diverse early childhood topics. Inaddition, All Our Kin also regularly runstraining sessions and courses, which aredesigned to respond to needs andinterests of Network members.

Educational ConsultingAll Our Kin’s master educators visit theprograms of providers and offer bi-weekly mentoring and coaching,covering the basics of childdevelopment and curriculum. Theeducational consultants teach bymodeling experiences, activities andinteractions, and use their knowledgeof the most up-to-date research in earlychildhood education to help providersraise the quality of their care.

Business ConsultingAll Our Kin’s business consultant isavailable to meet and work withNetwork members to help them withtheir business practices. This includeslearning to create and maintainbudgets, recordkeeping and taxes, andpromoting and marketing theirbusinesses.

The Tool Kit Licensing Programconcludes with a celebratory event thatrecognizes a group of recently licensedproviders and sends them on their waywith a valuable foundation ofencouragement and support foropening their child care programs.

All Our Kin offers its services at no costto participants, but we expectproviders to commit to the professionand to provide quality care byparticipating actively in our trainingsand workshops and learning as muchas they can about early childhoodeducation. As a result, children willreceive the early learning experiencesthey need and deserve.
