01 | OPPORTUNITY KNOCKSIn 2004 VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) was legalised in South Africa. This bought a host of new opportuniti es to companies wanti ng to enter the lucrati ve telephony space. Some of the traditi onal analogue vendors tried to jump on the VoIP bandwagon in the years following the announcement in search of even greater profi ts and returns. What they failed to realise was that the skills and methods used to successfully deploy an IP telephony network was vastly diff erent from the traditi onal methods they had been using to deploy analogue telephone networks over the last 50 years… for the most part the analogue vendors failed to make the paradigm shift needed to capitalise on the IP Telephony and VoIP explosion.

DSL Telecom was developed to take advantage of the opportuniti es in the business market presented by exciti ng market shift s including:• The move from old analogue PBX technology to new IP Based PBX Technology• The shift from slow and unreliable ADSL and Wireless based Internet Technologies to fast and stable Fibre Opti c

and Microwave internet opti ons• The move from analogue voice to SIP and VoIP technology

The opening up of the SA internet economy has bought with it an insati able appeti te for bandwidth and internet applicati ons amongst business customers and the market is looking for a service leader to help enhance effi ciancies and dramati cally cut costs in order to drive their own business’s forward.

02 | CONNECTING CUSTOMERSDSL Telecom creates a mutually benefi cial relati onship for it’s agent network and itself by helping like-minded, strong willed individuals start up their own DSL Telecom agency in areas where we have no reach. In this way we are able to connect customers all over South Africa, share the revenues and profi t together.

03 | SOUNDS GOOD BUT WHY DSL TELECOM?1. Proven Concept: Aft er being involved in the South African Telecommunicati ons industry since 2004

and the rapid growth and market acceptance of VoIP over the last 10 years, DSL Telecom was launched in South Africa in 2009 to market IP-PBX systems to the SMB market that were underserviced and overcharged by traditi onal analogue vendors. In less than 3 years we have become the most relevant SMB IP PBX Vendor in South Africa. We have forced our way into a traditi onally analogue market with high tech IP based telephone systems, to which the market has responded positi vely. We have made the mistakes and developed a method of doing business that works well and produces successful results.

2. Leading by Example: The DSL Telecom Head offi ce is not just the custodions of the Brand, we are an acti ve agency that run the exact business model ourselves, very successfully. Every day we are connecti ng customers to IP-PBX, Voice and Data Products and building our annuity income pie. Come join us!

3. Network Agnosti c: We can connect customers to multi ple networks for voice or data. We are very powerful when it comes to infl uencing which voice or data network our customers connect to. The networks know this. As a result voice and data commissions are extremely high and centrally negoti ated. We never lose a deal because we have access to all the major networks!

4. Brilliant Support: Dedicated centralised sales and technical support teams service your staff and your clients. We are just a phone call or a click away if you need anything at all. The internet also enables us to remotely confi gure, assist or troubleshoot any of the products. We also have online video training you can access at any ti me should you need to fi nd an answer quickly!

5. Economies of Scale: As a nati onal agency network we have more negoti ati ng power with our PBX hardware vendors to get bett er pricing. We can negoti ate bett er commissions from the voice and data networks. Shared adverti sing budget also means more leads for your business at a lower cost.

6. Predictable Growth Path: With our revenue structures it is easy to accurately calculate how successful your agency will be depending on the number of clients you sign up. Annuity Revenue consistently pays you over and over every month regardless of the new sales you do.

06 | TECHNOLOGYVoIP is Africa’s future communicati ons platf orm. The technology is mature and market uptake has started increasing rapidly as the market becomes aware of the obvious advantages of VoIP.

What is an IP PBX?An IP PBX is a complete telephony system that provides telephone calls over IP data networks. All conversati ons are sent as data packets over the network.

The technology includes advanced communicati on features but also provides a signifi cant dose of worry-free scalability and robustness that all businesses seek. The IP PBX is also able to connect to

Traditi onal PSTN (Telkom) lines VoIP Networks Neotel Network GSM (Cellular Networks)

Upgrading a companies day-to-day business communicati on to this advanced voice and data technology is a breeze!

Be nifi ts of moving to an IP-PBX:

1. Much easier to install & confi gure than an analogue phone system

2. Easier to manage because of web/GUI based confi gurati on interface

3. Signifi cant cost savings using VOIP providers

4. Eliminate phone wiring

5. Eliminate vendor lock in

6. Scalable

7. Bett er customer service & producti vity

8. Twice the phone system features for half the price

9. Allow hot desking & roaming

10. Bett er phone usability: SIP phones are easier to use

08 |ONGOING REVENUESDSL Telecom off ers multi ple opportuniti es to grow your annuity income streams with every customer.

1. DSL Telecom VAS (Value Added Services)SLA: When an IP-PBX is sold and installed by DSL Telecom it is sold with a monthly Service Level Agreement (SLA) that the customer pays in order to receive support and extended warranti es amongst other benefi ts. The SLA is mandatory and becomes your fi rst annuity income stream generated from the sale of an IP-PBX system. The average SLA is worth R299.00 per month so your revenue grows steadily as your installati ons happen.

TMS: Telephone management system is a call accounti ng soft ware that allows customers to bill certain users, extensions or departments for phone calls. It off ers advanced reporti ng on who is doing what on the phone system and allows customers to control costs. TMS starts at R179,00 per month.

PVR: Professional Voice Recordings (PVR) allow the customer to get a professional voice arti st to speak over their automated voice recordings on their phone systems. They can record adverts to play to customers while they are on hold for a professional company look and feel. PVR starts at R249.00 per month

2. Voice ServicesOnce you sell the IP PBX to a customer you then almost always have the opportunity to sell Voice services to the customer. With DSL Telecom you can connect a customer to a variety of Voice networks including Vox Telecom, Neotel and Huge Telecom. You as the agent will earn +/- 7.5% of the customers phone bill every single month! Please see the example below:

Monthly Sales Annuity Per Month Annuity Per Month aft er 1st year15* 2,025.00 24,300.0025* 3,375.00 40,500.0035* 4,724.00 56,688.00

*based on a 5 user phone system with an average bill of R1800.00pm This means an agency completi ng 25 installs a month can grow their annuity income to over R40, 500.00 per month from voice minutes alone. Imagine getti ng paid every ti me your customers make a phone call!

3. Data Services (Internet)With DSL Telecom’s access to the largest Networks in the Country you can sell a full range of Internet products and service as well. With most of the latest products being truly converged (ie: Voice and Data is combined in a single connecti on) you basically sell a data soluti on when you sell a voice soluti on these days. Never before has it been so easy to completely capture voice and data services from a customer in a single transacti on. As an agent you make between 7% and 12% annuity revenue on your customers monthly internet data subscripti ons

Example: If you sell a 1 x 5MB Fibre Opti c Internet connecti on to a business customer the customers subscripti on may be R5000.00 per month, you would then qualify for an annuity income from this product of roughly R450.00 per month. If you are doing 10 sales a month just of this fi bre internet product that means your annuity is growing by R4500.00 per month just from DATA connecti ons!

So what if I told you that 8 out of 10 customers that are signing up take all 3 products? (IP PBX Hardware with an SLA, Voice Calling Services and Data Connecti ons)

09 | COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGEOrganised competi ti on is scarce. Most of the entrenched analogue PBX vendors have not made or cannot make the shift to a new IP based communicati ons world due to lack of skills and understanding. We have 10 years experience in deploying IP telephony environments so we defi nitely have the fi rst to market advantage. The SME market (5 extensions to 100) is also neglected by the bigger corporate vendors so there are few IP off erings in the market we have to compete with. We don’t see any relevant vendor emerging in the foreseeable future.
