wood Camp in Essex. And the Empower Intro Camp is for those
young people going into grades 7 & 8 in the fall and will take place
Aug 7-9 at Gesstwood. All details can be found at dol.ca/cclc

to our diocese? In addition to the main Diocese of London
Facebook page, there are also pages for Diocese of London
Youth Ministry Outreach, Events in the Diocese of London,
and most recently a new page for Diocese of London Mis-
sions. Additionally, the Youth Ministry team also has an In-
stagram page, and the Diocese has a Twitter account. Many
parishes also have their own social media pages. Come join us
in cyberspace! Find us using your search bar, or get the links

Our Lady of Mt. Carmel St. Mary’s Parish, London, invites all to attend the
feast in honour of the Solemnity of Our Lady of
Mount Carmel. Bishop Dabrowski will celebrate sol-
emn, bilingual Mass on Sunday, July 14 at 3 pm fol-
lowed by an outdoor rosary procession with the statue
of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. The feast concludes with
Solemn Benediction. See poster on bulletin board for more infor-
mation.
The Norfolk Pregnancy & Family Resource Centre is
holding a Stroll-A-Thon event on July 20, 2019 from 10:30 AM
to 1:00 PM in 2 locations: Port Rowan & Waterford. It is our
hope that this event brings awareness and support across the county.
We are asking people to sign up to participate in this family-friendly
walk and raise support through pledges. We are also asking for ded-
icated supporters who may not be able to make it to the event, to
financially sponsor the event. If you would like to sign-up or offer a
sponsorship and donation, please contact us by emailing in-
[email protected] or calling 519-428-2177. We are praying that
this event is well loved and supported as we have lost a major fund-
raising opportunity when the Domino's fundraiser was canceled, and
the financial support is greatly needed. We would not exist without
the support of our local churches.
Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Merlin
Bishop Joseph Dabrowski invites you to celebrate the Feast of Our
Lady of Mount Carmel at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary in
Merlin on Tues., July 16, 2019. The day begins with lunch at 12pm
and a Praise & Worship concert. A rosary procession will take
place at 1:30pmfollowed by the celebration of Mass and benedic-
tion at 2pm. If you’d like to join in a walking pilgrimage to the
Shrine. A pilgrimage encourages everyone to become missionary
disciples with us, and to invite their family, friends and neighbours
to pray together in this year dedicated to prayer in our diocese, to
deepen their faith and their relationship with the Lord.
Details can be found on the bulletin board.
Bishop’s Letter Bishop Fabbro has written a letter on the 40th Anniversary of the
Private Sponsorship of Refugees Program. “Forty years ago,” His
Excellency writes, “Canadians were moved by the plight of the ‘boat
people’ fleeing the violence and destruction of the Vietnam War. In
response, over 60,000 Vietnamese, Cambodian and Laotian refugees
were brought to Canada, many of whom were welcomed by faith
communities. This unprecedented response led to the establishment
of the Private Sponsorship of Refugees (PSR) program in 1979.
Since then, it has been a vital component of Canada’s immigration
system and has been recognized worldwide as demonstrating Cana-
da’s humanitarian leadership. Through this program, over 327,000
refugees have been resettled in Canada. For the first time ever, our
country has resettled more refugees than any other country in the
world.” The Bishop’s entire letter, as well as a video link, are availa-
ble on our diocesan website at www.dol.ca/news.

Mass Online Did you know that Mass is live-streamed every weekend in the Dio-
cese of London? Courtesy of St. George Parish, London, Mass is
available at www.youtube.com/user/sgtvlondon. There is even an
archive of past Masses, homilies, and special liturgical
events. Online viewing is a great option for those who are unable to
attend Mass in person due to illness, infirmity, travel, or any other
reason. And if you know someone who is “interested” in the Catho-
lic Church but not quite ready to make the leap, this may be an easy
introduction.
