ARCHITECTURE
Allahabad is famous for twotypes of architecture mainly i.e :Indo-Islamic architecture encompasses a wide
range of styles from various backgroundsthat helped shape the architecture ofthe Indian subcontinent from the adventof Islam in the Indian subcontinent in the7th century until today. It has leftinfluences on modern Indian, Pakistaniand Bangladeshi architecture. Bothsecular and religious buildings areinfluenced by Indo-Islamic architecture
which exhibit Indian, Persian, Arab, and Turkish themes, and
The Indo-Saracenic Revival (alsoknown as Indo-Gothic, Mughal-Gothic, Neo-Mughal, Hindoo or Hindu-Gothic) was anarchitectural stylemovement by British architects in thelate 19th century in British India. It drewelements from native Indo-Islamic and Indian architecture, andcombined it with the Gothicrevival and Neo-Classical styles favouredin Victorian Britain. The style gainedmomentum in the west with thepublication of the various views of Indiaby William Hodges and the Daniell duo,(William Daniell and his uncle ThomasDaniell) from about 1795. NEED OF PROJECT..
ALLABHAYATA is a concept to join the
allahababi tribs from the world. Tourists
are very much aware of allahabad and its
culture. But still they are far-far away
from its roots. Real ALLAHABAD is still
there in villages, the paintings..., art Bani
Thani..., the wall decorations..., the cow
dung plaster..., the pure food..., the fresh
air..., the evening perfomances, the
enthusiasm, the 'manuhar' (mouthful
catering), the traditions, the costumes
and at last but not least the feelings.
At ALLABHAYATA I bring that all for you.
My aim is to preserve and encourage the
village art and culture, to get today's
generation closer to their past, to change
the philosophy of world about indian
village culture. For example, most of thepeople think that cow dung is a dirty
thing and contains germs, but reality is
cow dung has the power to control many
diseases, it is an anti-septic , it controls
mosquitos. That is why in villages people
put its plaster on the walls.
Nowadays the art and other cultural
things are only seen in museums in
frames where we cannot enjoy them. As
everyone is adopting modernization and
leaving behind their traditional culture,
so there is a great need to preserve it for
the future generations.
Some people take art as their hobbies,
some their as professions and these artist
get less opportunities show their talent .
These artists are living in pathetically
unhygenic conditions and do not have
even proper workshop, shop or other
necessary areas. Though these artist are
economically weak.
So this shilp haat provides :
A market to display
New craft promotion techniques
Display of history
It attract customers
