ALL-‐DAY PATHWAYS AD1: Youth Leaders’ Roundtable: This will be a time of networking and sharing resources that will enhance the disciple formation efforts of youth leaders and volunteers from across South Georgia. Led by Jared Middleton. AD2: When in our Music God is Glorified: This workshop is for paid and volunteer choir directors. Participants will experience various musical selections you can use with smaller and medium-‐sized choirs as well as techniques that will elevate your congregation’s praise of God. Led by Jane Kimbrel. AD3: Financial Leadership in the Church: This all-‐day workshop targets local church leaders who are ready to shift the focus away from scarcity in order to make mission-‐minded decisions about the use of financial resources. Tools will be shared that are proven to help grow the stewardship response of the congregation. Led by Derek McAleer. AD4: The Church & Disabilities: This workshop is designed to increase awareness of issues around disabilities by discussing attitudinal and architectural barriers encountered by individuals with disabilities in order to minister more effectively and be inclusive. Led by Marty and Kathy Israel-‐McCloud. AD5: Pastoral Counseling – Helping without Harming: This full-‐day workshop for clergy only will introduce some key basics and successful techniques to equip pastors for appropriate parish-‐based counseling. We will look creatively at some proven strategies for making a healthy difference in the lives of those who come to their pastor for counseling help. Group members will be encouraged to share case studies for feedback from the group and facilitator. Come prepared with a brief written description of a challenging counseling case. Covenant Bible Study Resources: Learn more about Covenant, a UM adult resource that helps enhance a formative disciple-‐making experience in our relationship with God, others, and the world around us. Music for African American Churches: From the beloved spirituals to the timeless hymns, come discover the heart of worship through the gift of music for smaller/mid-‐size churches. Led by Michael Culbreth. A4. Congregational Evangelism: Evangelism is about God working through you and your congregation to become vibrant witnesses for Jesus Christ. Come explore ways to encourage & equip your church to reach out through faith-‐sharing. Led by Larry Price. A5. MissionInsite: Discover this practical tool – available to your church through our Conference – which provides easy map-‐based data analytics to help you evaluate true needs for mission and outreach in your community. Led by Karen Hahn, New & Revitalized Congregational Development. A6. Spiritual Disciplines: In today’s society, the word “discipline” can conjure negative images not intended in the spiritual life. Discover how individuals and faith communities can grow by practicing the spiritual disciplines. Led by Teresa Edwards. A7. Planning to Make Disciples: Identify and support your church’s strategy, provide a groundwork and language to continually evaluate your progress. If your team doesn’t know what your goals are and what the church’s ultimate vision is, how can they work to make it happen? Led by Mark Addington. A8. Poverty: Engage in deepening your understanding of the realities of poverty, offering real-‐life stories of people experiencing poverty and the way communities can stand with those in need. Led by Kim Jenkins. A9. Seeking God’s Unique Vision: God doesn't use a Xerox copier to design anything; think stars, snowflakes, fingerprints, etc. Every congregation can find their own unique vision for ministry. Join a conversation, based on experience, around organizing a team to discern God's vision for ministry where you are. Led by Scott Hagan. A10. “Added-‐Value” -‐ Reaching the Unchurched: Added value describes the ability to “tweak” what you already have in place to complement your ministries and reach out to draw new people into the church and into a relationship with Jesus Christ. Come discover practical and simple ways to look at “added value” in the context of your ministry outreach and setting. Led by Fran Magoni.

Led by Flo Sapp Martin. B3. Captivating People for the Love of Christ: Explore ways to stir up the love of Christ in your congregation so you can become a church for all of God’s people. Led by Abra Lattany-‐Reed. B4. Be Our Guest: Developing a system of intentional hospitality that attracts and retains newcomers so they can experience the gospel message in word and deed & find “belonging” in Christian community. Led by Stephanie Smith. B5. Exerceo Divina: Many people are embracing a false idea of health while Scripture holds the key to living a better life. Come take part in a discussion about becoming healthier – physically, mentally, and spiritually. Led by Joe Buck. B6. Turning Meetings Into Ministry: Discover ways to transform “church work” into God’s work by equipping & encouraging disciples to become spiritual leaders. Led by Ann Smith. B7. Darkness to Light P1: Darkness to Light’s Stewards of Children is an evidence based sexual abuse prevention training program that educates adults to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse, and motivates them to courageous action. Strong Small Membership Churches: Discover principles that lead to strong small membership churches that can be put into practice in your church. Led by Shirley Thigpen and Randall Smith. B11. Teaching and Leading Worship for Change: This workshop is designed to help leaders grow and help others grow in their worship life and devotion, even when it means leading a congregation to make changes in the way(s) they worship together. C1. Children’s Ministry in Small Membership Churches: This workshop will look at the challenges and opportunities of starting and continuing children’s ministries in small membership churches. Led by Chad Watkins. C2. Unleash the Troops!: Developing a strategic model of ministry to equip your members for ministry is the most significant thing you can do. If you really want to make a difference and change lives you’ve got to unleash the troops. This practical workshop will help you think through how to develop a holistic process to empower your members to be ministers. Led by Jay Hanson. C3. Developing a Disciple Plan: Does your church have an intentional plan that guides your disciple-‐making efforts? Come learn ways to begin this process as well as discover new strategies for existing plans you may already have. Led by Denise Walton. C4. From Doing to Being Prayer: Learn why Paul’s command to pray without ceasing is possible for every Christian who desires to grow in discipleship and enjoy a closer relationship with Christ. Led by Ann Smith. C5. Where Does My Money Go?: Discover how we as United Methodists support a wide range of ministries through Apportionment giving. We’re Better Together! Led by Jimmy Cason. C6. Safe Sanctuaries in a Virtual World: Joy Melton’s latest resource to Safe Sanctuaries guides best practices to protect our children, youth and volunteers seeking to minister effectively in our culture dominated by the internet. Led by Allison Lindsey. C7. Darkness to Light P2: Training continues from B7, as participants receive certification as a Darkness to Light steward. Parts 1 and 2 are required for completion. Led by Terry Walton, LCSW. C8. Asset Based Community Ministry: How can your church be an instrument of revitalization in your community? Rather than focus on deficits, emphasize their assets by exploring and building on community resources. Led by Stacey Harwell-‐Dye. C9. Relationship Principles of Jesus: Learn about a model you can use in your church that will help your congregation live out the words of Jesus: “They will know that you are my disciples that you have love for one another.” Led by Joe Buck. C10. Gift-‐Based Ministry: Examine the essential characteristics of a healthy church in order to help members experience joy in ministry as they learn and use the gifts God has given them.
