A YEAR OF THE BIBLE! – COME & WORSHIP! Our worship theme this year is “Living Word!” – it will be a year of walking through the Bible cover to cover. Please bring your Bible to worship. God’s Word is, indeed, living and active, and I am so excited about this year of discovering how the whole Bible works together to point us to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Will you commit to this year of worship, to going deeper into the Scriptures, and knowing the One the Bible points us to even more? Please join me in a year of the Bible!
THANK YOU, “TASTE OF ALLELUIA!” VOLUNTEERS! Wow…I’m still processing the morning because it was so amazing. Over 425 people at outdoor worship, over 550 people at the event following, great food, great fun, and God’s Holy Spirit moving and breathing all over the place! What a day! It would not have been possible without all of our wonderful volunteers. A special thanks to Tracey Sokolowski for overseeing the event; and to Roger Russell for stepping up to oversee the food component. I met dozens of visitors and now pray that the Lord stirs them to continue discovering how our church family can walk with them in life and discover God’s love for them.
LET’S GO, ALLELUIA! I am so proud to be your partner in ministry and mission in the world. Let’s come to worship, let’s connect to God and one another through Christian learning, and let’s commit to mission for the sake of others. Let’s keep reaching others with the love of Jesus – one life at a time! You are an amazing church!
God Bless,
Pastor Tim Housholder

Adult Discipleship News
Fall is such an exciting time for Alleluia! Adult Discipleship, with many groups that have taken a break for the summer starting up again, and still others starting up for the first time. One of the most rewarding aspects of my job as the Adult Discipleship Director is being a part of this time of reunion and new beginnings.
This year, I am privileged to have a team of dedicated volunteers helping me to expand and grow the ministry in ways I have never dreamed possible. Among other things, be on the lookout for a colorful new display showcasing groups new and old that are available at Alleluia! All of these groups are designed to help you along on your journey to come, connect, and commit to Jesus.
Below is just a small sampling of what is available this year. Pick up a brochure in the Gathering Area for a complete listing or check out our new card display. Feel free to contact me, Darcy Jasien, [email protected], or the group leader directly for more information or to sign up for a group!
Faith groups and events provide our foundation for growing in (Christian) faithfulness (Isaiah 40:8). By
taking the time to facilitate or participate in small and large group learning opportunities, we allow ourselves the opportunity to get to know Him and one another better.
Ladies, Save the Date: Annual Women’s Retreat on January 23-25, 2015. The theme is A FULL LIFE! “I have come that they may have life and have it to the full,” (John 10:10b). Watch for more details!
Fall Faith Group: The Prodigal God-Recovering the Heart of the Christian Faith Open to adults and high school students. Come with a family member or bring a friend on Sunday mornings, 10:15 or 11:15 (after 9 and 10:15 worship services) or Thursday evening, 7pm. Begins the week of September 14th and continue for 6 weeks in The Well Café Room. This is a book discussion about Jesus’ parable in Luke 15: 11-32, commonly called the parable of the “Prodigal Son;” actually a story of, “The Two Sons,” but more importantly, the story of God’s extravagant love for YOU! Books will be available for purchase in the bookstore. Led by Dan and Nancy Stolle. Contact Dan or Nancy at [email protected] for more information or to sign up.
Women’s Bible Study: All ladies are invited to Women's Bible Study starting on September 17! We meet the 1st & 3rd Wednesday of the month from 9:30-11:30am. Our study this fall is THE INHERITANCE by Beth Moore. (Please Note: this is a lecture-only series with NO homework!) For more information, sign up on the blue bulletin insert, or contact Cathy Schaefer at [email protected].
No Homework Bible Study: Have you been wanting to try out a Bible Study but have limited time? Beginning Sept. 10th we will meet the 2nd & 4th Wednesday of each month from 12-1pm in the Covenant Room (located on the lower level next to door # 8). This coed group is perfect for working people on their lunch breaks or anyone who has daytime availability. All are welcome! For more information or to register please contact Laura Bowler at [email protected] or 630-904-3311, x245.

Service groups help us to live out our faith. For God so loved the world,
and He calls us to do the same (Matthew 22:39). One of the ways that we show our love for others and for God is by serving at our church and in our community. Prayer is also incorporated into Service Groups.
Shoppers, Save the Date for the Little Lambs Consignment Sale on Sept 18-20, 2014 The proceeds from this Fall/Winter Children’s Sale will benefit Alleluia! ministries. Donations are accepted in the marked bin in the Gathering Area. (More info on page 9)
Life group members and guests share a common interest. For where two or three come together in my
name, there I am with them (Matthew 18:20). Social groups enable us to have fun with fellow members while incorporating prayer and service, two foundations of our faith.
