The Library will be closed Sunday, December 23 through Tuesday, December 25. The Library will reopen on Wednesday, December 26 at 10 a.m.

The Library will be closing at 6 p.m. on Monday, December 31 and will be closed the following day, Tuesday, January 1. The Library will reopen on Wednesday, January 2 at 10 a.m.

No materials will be due while the Library is closed.

All events are held in the Children’s Program Room unless otherwise noted. Caregivers must stay with children under age 9.

Chinese Story Time Saturday, December 1 10:30 - 11 a.m. 11 - 11:30 a.m. All ages Enjoy a story time primarily in Mandarin Chinese with stories, rhymes and songs. Limited to 100 for each story time. Free tickets required.

Sensory Play Day Friday, December 7 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. Ages 0 - 3 Join us for a relaxed morning of stimulating sensory play stations. Limited to 100. Free tickets required.

Winter Wonderland Story Time Saturday, December 8 10:30 - 11 a.m. Ages 3 and up Enjoy a wintery-themed story time followed by a craft!

Music and Movement Friday, December 14 10:30 - 11 a.m. 11 - 11:30 a.m. Ages 2 and up

Join us as we sing, dance and make music! Limited to 50 for each program. Free tickets required.

PRESCHOOL PROGRAMS (AGES 0-5)STEM Story Time: Snow Monday, December 17 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. Ages 3 and up It may not be snowing outside, but it will be at APL as we read, sing, dance and learn about the science and art of snow! Limited to 80. Free tickets required.

Preschool Playdate Friday, December 21 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. Ages 3 and up Enjoy a variety of hands-on activities designed to promote kindergarten-readiness skills. Limited to 80. Free tickets required.

Sesame Street Party Wednesday, December 26 3 - 4 p.m. Ages 3 and up Join us for crafts and games featuring your favorite Muppet friends!

Noon Year’s Eve Monday, December 31 11:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. Ages 2 and up In the Auditorium Enjoy a special story time with a countdown to noon. Limited to 275. Free tickets required.

American Girl Party Wednesday, December 5 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. Ages 8 - 12 Celebrate the holidays with American Girls throughout history! We’ll have crafts and fun activities!

Hour of Code Monday, December 10 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. Ages 8 - 12 Join us for a one-hour coding tutorial using code.org. No experience needed. This program was sponsored by Shubha and Vatsa Ramanathan in memory of S. Ramanathan. Limited to 24. Free tickets required.

How to Draw Tuesday, December 4 4:30 - 5 p.m. Ages 5 - 8 Learn to draw something new each month! All materials provided.

Games and Grub Saturday, December 8 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. Ages 12 - 18 Bring your friends for an epic board game battle! We’ll have everything from Chess and Checkers to awesome new games like Sushi Go and Exploding Kittens! You could even play a round of Magic or Dungeons & Dragons. Oh, and did we mention there will be food?
