Allergies

An allergy is a hypersensitivity disorder of the immune system. Allergic reactions occur when a person's immune system reacts to normally harmless substances in the environment. A substance that causes a reaction is called an allergen. These reactions are acquired, predictable, and rapid. Allergy is one of four forms of hypersensitivity and is formally called type I (or immediate) hypersensitivity.

Food Allergies

A food allergy is an adverse immune response to a food protein. They are distinct from other adverse responses to food, such as food intolerance, pharmacological reactions, and toxin-mediated reactions.

Conslusions

We were absolutly astonished by the results, it is allarming to have so many people allergic in a same class. At first we thought we would have like two or three allergic people, but we have realized there are 12 persons out of 27 who are suffering an allergy.

It is also impressing the fact that 20 students have got some relative who has got an allergy.

Most of the people who are allergic in our class are allergic to food, only three out of twelve aren't allergic to a food substance.
