As part of our on going efforts to achieve our SustainabilityGoals, we have invested in an In-line Regenerative CatalyticThermal Oxidizer, which during the coating process reducesthe release of the Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) thatare known to be a cause of Ozone depletion.

A Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO)is an industrial processfor the treatment of exhaust air. The system uses a bed of ceramicmaterial to absorb heat from the exhaust gas and use thecaptured heat to preheat the incoming process gas stream.

Re-Cycling of Waste Water:Water and chemicals are used during the deg reasing processof the aluminium coils. This produces acidic wastewater, which goes through a re-cycling process and neutralizes thePH content before being re-cycled back into the degreasingprocess. The sedimentation which is a by-product of thedegreasing process, is removed by a specialist company whowill dispose of the sediment in an environmentally friendlyand sustainable manner.

    The Greener Way!

Go Green, Build Green!Choose Almaxco Aluminium Composite PanelsAlmaxco continuously strives to improve its operations and production process to reduce its carbon foot print.

We do this by: Choosing to deal with raw material suppliers who are certified and accredited with environmentally friendly

    practices.

Choosing to deal with raw material suppliers who are located within a 500 miles radius of our factory, so asto reduce the emissions of CO2from transport vehicles which deliver the raw materials to us.

Embracing manufacturing processes that do not emit any green house gases.

Recycling all our waste production by selling our aluminium waste to special smelter plants who recycle thealuminum using environmentally friendly procedures.

Recycling the LDPE Resins by selling them to special re-cycling facilities.

    Recycling of waste water.

Installing a regenerative catalytic thermal oxidizer on our paint coating lines to reduce the release ofVolatile Organic Compounds (VOC) during the paint coating process.

Using energy saver bulbs to light all areas of our manufacturing facility and administrative buildings.

Using raw materials which are bio-degradable and non toxic.

These may be just some small s teps which we have consciously decided to embrace and we will always s trive toimplement more ways to reduce our impact on the worlds fragile environment. Almaxco Composite is certif iedby Singapore Green Label and Ecospecifier Australia, and meets their criteria so as to be classified as aGreen Building Material. Our products proudly contribute to LEED points for buildings to be sustainable andenvironmentally friendly.

Almaxco The Right Choice for Building a Greener Tomorrow

The planet is our home and it is every global citizens responsibility to do their part to reduceheir carbon foot print. We live in a selfish world, where we are not only using up precious

esources, but polluting our fragile environment with green house gases . We at Almaxco firmly

believe that we must do our part to produce a product which minimizes the impact on Mother

Nature. This heavy responsibility falls on everyones shoulders, so that our future generations

can inherit a world in which they can have a better future. This is possible if each of us do our

part. Together we can make a difference!

Some of Our Green Initiatives to Achieve our Sustainability Goals:

The basic operation of an RTO consists of passing a hotgas stream over a heat sink material in one direction andrecovering that heat by passing a cold gas stream throughthat same heat sink material in an alternate cycle.

They are used to destroy air toxics and VOCs that are usuallydischarged in industrial process exhausts.

Chemosynthesis (Step 1)Chemosynthesis, commonly known as the DegreasingProcess, is the first and most important step in the productionprocess.Following the delivery of the aluminium coils from oursuppliers, the coils are uncoiled and undergo a vigorousquality control inspection.Once the coils are found to be of an acceptable quality byour Quality Control Department, we will degrease the coilsusing approved non toxic industrial chemicals from eitherHenkle Co Ltd (Germany) or GE Betz (USA) to remove theantioxidative grease and other impurities such as silicon,

magnesium, iron and copper that might have been de positedon the coils.

The final step of the degreasing process is the application ofa honeycomb high-density oxidative coating, which ensuresthat the paint and aluminium firmly adhere to each other inthe next step of production, which is the coating of the coils.

    Certifications

Almaxco Panel Sheets are produced using high quality rawmaterials under stringent Quality Assurance (QA), QualityControl (QC) and Management standards, which has earneds various certifications.

Our Panel Sheets are tested to ASTM, BS, EN, DIN, and AS/NZS standards, by leading testing bodies around the world, uch as TUV SUD PSB, SGS, GUARDIAN FIRE TESTINGABORATORY, AWTA and CSIRO.

Almaxco Panel Sheets have also attained International Fire,Mechanical and Technical Certifications, as required by CivilDefense and Building Authorities.

Due to our Panel Sheets being produced using re-cycledmaterials and our production processes minimizing ourarbon emissions and in so doing reducing our impact on the

environment, we have achieved a Certification of Conformityby Ecospecifier, Australia as a Green Building Product, whichensures that the Almaxco Panel Sh eets contribute to a LEEDating on the projects on which they are installed. Almaxco

Panel Sheets are also certified by Singapore Green Label.

A large part of our success can be attributed to producingPanel Sheets of the highest quality standards, in anenvironmentally friendly and sustainable fashion.

Production ProcessThe production of Almaxco Panel Sheets includes the following 3 critical steps:

Coil Coating (Step 2)We have two precision coil coating lines in our factory, one ofwhich can coat coils up to 1600mm width and the other up to

    2000mm width.

Having our own in house coating lines gives us an addedadvantage over our competitors, as we can quality controlthe coating process, without having to rely on third partiesto carry out the coating on our behalf, with the associatedpotential quality control issues. Our three-roller precision coating lines operate within amechanically ventilated self-contained room, which ensures aclean and dustless environment, so that the coating surface isfree from any foreign particles.

In addition, each coating line is divided into four temperature-controlled areas to achieve the required hardness, flexibility, gloss levels and adhesive force.

Composite and Film Transfer Line (Step 3)The Compositing and Film Transfer process is the third andfinal step of the Production Process. It is in this step of theProduction Process that the critical layers come together toform a Panel Sheet with the required thickness and size asordered by our customers.

The top and bottom coated aluminium coils get composited(sandwiched) with a LDPE or Fire Resistant Core, which isextruded from a pelleted form at the ti me of the compositing.

It is also in this step of the Production Process, that theprotective film, which bears the Almaxco brand, is transferredonto the Panel Sheets before they are cut to the requiredsizes, using a digitally controlled cutting system.

Finally, the cut Panel Sheets are carefully stacked on palletsfor last Quality Control Check and Quantity Verificationbefore packing and palleting for dispatch.

Almaxco Nano PVDF coated Panels Sheets are producedwith a new and exciting NANO technology. This coatingechnology changes the molecular structure of the paint andnhances the performance of the paint coating by givinghe coated surface a longer gloss and color retention. The

Nano coated paint surface is lipophobic (Oil resistant) andydrophobic (Water resistant).

This is achieved by sealing any air-gaps between the tiny paintmolecules with a water-soluble chemical, which prevents dirt, water, permanent spray paint (graffiti), carbon monoxide,

rease, oil or any foreign particles to penetrate through thepaint surface.

n addition, the NANO PVDF application is a non-toxic, VOCEMISSION FREE coating system, which makes the surfaceelf-cleaning and repellent to air-borne pollutants.

Almaxco NANO coating impairs penetration of UV rays andother pollutants through the paint surface, giving a muchonger gloss and color retention.

    Coating Thickness & Tolerances:

Almaxco Panel Sheets are coated using high quality paints from world-renowned supplierssuch as PPG, Beckers, Valspar and Fine Shine. We follow the strict guidelines set froth byour paint suppliers to ensure that the coating of the coils conforms to the required technicalparameters, appropriate heating temperatures and speed of the coil coating to achieve therequired color, gloss, thickness, adhesive force and flexibility.

Almaxco PVDF panel sheets are coated wi th a 27um (+/-2um) coating thickness for maximumdurability, weatherability and corrosion resistance for the use in external applications.

Almaxco Nano Coated Panel Sheets are coated with a 30um (+/-2um) coating thicknessfor maximum durability, weatherability and corrosion resistance for the use in externalapplications. The forth coat increases the durability and weatherability of the Panel Sheets toreduce the fading and gloss loss of the paint coating.

Almaxco Polyester XT coated Panel Sheet s are coated with a 20um (+/-3um) coating thicknessto achieve maximum surface tension required for optimal digital printing, flexibility andglossiness.

    Custom Color Matches

Almaxco offers its customers the ability to match any color acustomer desires. We can match any RAL, Pantone or othercustom colors.

All we require of our customers is to send us a color samplecoated on any metal surface and we can get our paintsuppliers to match that particular color to 99% accuracy. Theturn around time for custom color matching is usually 5 to 7days from the time we receive the sample, plus the couriertransit time to send the sample back to the cus tomer.

Color matches are made on the aluminium ski n only (not theentire panel sheet) and are meant for color approval only.

Once the color is accepted and approved by the customer, wecan then produce the actual order based on th e confirmationof the custom color code.

We can match these colors in varying gloss levels, as requiredby our customers. PVDF colors can only be produced in glosslevels up to 45%, whilst Polyester XT, HDP and FEVE colorscan be produced in gloss levels up to 90%.

Custom colors are subject to MOQ as stated earlier in thiscatalogue.

    Note:

As color matching samples are made by hand, certain colorsmay have faint lines on the surface of the color matching skin,it is to be noted that these lines will not appear on the actualproduction run.

Please, note we cannot accurately match colors based onemail digital photographs, or if the color sample sent by thecustomer is not on a metal surface, such as textile or paper.

Almaxco Panel Sheets have greater flatness and rigidity qualities and arelighter when compared to other similar cladding materials.

The Flatness and Rigidity of the Panel Sheets eliminate the oil canning effect, which is common with solid aluminium and steel sheets.

The lighter weight of our Panel Sheets, when compared to that of similarcladding materials, helps to reduce the Dead Load factor on buildings and thenecessary structural support which reduces construction costs that togethergives the architect more freedom with the design and aesthetics of the building.

    Packaging and Palleting

The Panel Sheets are fully protected on all sides withwooden framework and steel strapping, which are fit forthe purpose of the protection of the Panel Sheets againstany damage whilst in transit from the companys factory tothe customers final destination.

All Almaxco Panel Sheets are packed in strong sea worthywooden pallets, which are custom made at the companysfactory for each order.

All Pallets are clearly labeled with the relevant descriptionof the Panels sheets inside each Pallet, (i.e. Size, Color,Quantity and Project Name) for easy identification at thecustomers final destination.

Pallet weights are carefully estimated before shipment, so

as to ensure that each pallet does not exceed 1.8 metrictonnes and that the overall weight of each containerdoes not exceed the maximum permissible weight thatis allowed under shipping lines and other transportationcompanies regulations.

    Protection Film

All Almaxco Panel Sheets are protected with an 80-micron light density polyethylene film. The protection film is adhered to theurface of the coated panels using a high quality water based glue.

Glue strength levels on the protection film need to be adjusted to account for any seasonal temperature variations and theequirements of different types of paint, gloss and color. Our team of QC and Production Managers have the necessaryxperience to determine which strength of glue best suites the criteria for a particular production.

All of our protective films use a water-based glue, but on special reque st by a customer, we can also offer a rubber-based glueor a hybrid glue film, which is subject to extra costs and minimum quantity orders.

Almaxco Architectural Panel FilmAll protective films for Architectural Panels require a stronger glue strength compared to a

rotective film used on Digital Printing, Signage and Specialty Panels, so as to ensure that

he protective film remains adhered for at least 45 days after installation of the Panels, aspposed to Digital Printing, Signage and Specialty Panels which need a shorter period.

We recommend that the film be removed within 45 days of the Panel installation, so as tovoid the film from over-sticking to the paint surface. If the protective film has not beenemoved within 6 months from the Date of the Production, the installers may experiencereater difficulty in removing the protective film. In addition it should be noted that water-ased glue like other water-based materials can be susceptible to multiple changes in

weather conditions and therefore long periods of the film being left on the surface of theanels should be avoided as far as possible.

nstallers must install the panels in one direction, as shown by the arrows on the protectivelm and not doing so may result in visual color variations. The protective film must not beemoved during fabrication and installation of the Panels, so as to avoid scratches andbrasion to the coated surfaces.

VC tapes, polyurethane sealants and modified silicon sealants must not be stuck or appliednto the panels protective film, as the chemicals from these materials could penetrate therotection film and cause a gloss change in the coating.

Digital Printing, Signage and Specialty Panel FilmsAll Almaxco Digital Printing, Signage & Specialty Panel films have an Easy Peel Effect. We can offer these in either a water based glue or hybrid DPG glue film.

We deliberately reduce the glue strength levels on this range of panels to allow digital printersand sign makers to remove the protective film without much effort, as this is preferred bythat industry.

Installers must install the panels in one direction, as shown by the arrows on the protectivefilm, and not doing so may result in visual color variations. The protective film must not beremoved during fabrication and ins tallation of the Panels so as to avoid scratches and abrasionto the coated surfaces.

PVC tapes, polyurethane sealants and modified silicon sealants must not be stuck or appliedonto the panels protective film, as the chemicals from these materials could penetrate theprotection film and cause a gloss change in the coating.

On receipt of any special instruction in writing from thecustomer, the company will accommodate lower palletweights. However, it should be noted that the reductionof the weight of pallets will reduce the loading volume percontainer and increase the unit cost of the Panel Sheets.

The Law and Regulations in certain destination countriesmight require that the wooden pallets be fumigatedand treated. If such treatment is required, then thecustomer must instruct the company with regards to suchregulations and requirements at the time of confirmingtheir order, so that the necessary arrangements can bemade by the company in advance to avoid any delays dueto non-compliance.

or all Almaxco panels to retain their color, gloss andesthetic appeal, an approved and bona fide cleaningompany must carry out regular cleaning and maintenance

    of the installed panels.

Almaxco panels are smooth and thus do not retain muchdirt and soil on their surfaces, however if the panels are notegularly cleaned and maintained, dirt and soil could buildp on the panels surfaces. The durability and Warranty ofhe panels could be affected, if the panels are not regularlyleaned and maintained, due to a build up of dirt and soil, his could cause coating surface issues to arise. This will alsoegatively impact the aesthetic look, color and gloss ofhe panels.

Cleaning and Maintenance of Almaxco Panel Sheets

The amount of dirt and soil, that can build up on a panel surfacedepends on the environmental conditions in the location ofthe project. Hence, cleaning and maintenance frequencies willdepend on the local environmental conditions.

The panels must be cleaned in accordance to the stateddetails below at least once a year, or more if the environmentalconditions so require.

When the panels on a project are due for their first cleaning andmaintenance process, the cleaning company must first carry outtests for compatibility between their proposed cleaning agentand the panels. It is recommended that the testing is carried outon a spare panel or on an inconspicuous area of the project panels.

Once a cleaning agent is found to be compatible with thepanels, then this cleaning agent must always be used. If at anytime the cleaning company wishes to change their cleaningagent, they must go through the same testing process asstated above.

When cleaning the panels, it must be ensured that the surfacetemperature of the panels is always below 40C at all times, soas to avoid any unforeseen issues with the Panels surfaces. As faras possible try to carry out the cleaning process in the shade andat moderate temperatures. Do not carry out any the cleaningprocess when it is raining, snowing or in similar conditions.

A forceful water rinse from top down is recommended, as aninitial step of the cleaning process, followed by a low watervolume with a moderate pressure for the remainder of the

    cleaning process.

    Storage and Handling

roper care should always be taken when handling and storing pallets which contain Almaxco Panel Sheets. We strongly recommend that the following guidelines be strictly adhered to:

A forklift, which can support lifting weights of at least2500kg is used to move the pallets around.

The length of the fork should be at least 1.5 meters in

length, so that it can adequately support the weight of apallet and prevent the pallet from tipping over or beingdamaged.

When storing pallets, they should be stored in a clean, dry and covered warehouse or space at all times, so as toprevent the pallets from being exposed to the sun, rain, moisture and other elements.

When stacking the pallets on top of each other, themaximum height should not exceed 6 meters, so as toavoid warping and bending of the panel sheets.

Only pallets of identical size should be stacked one on topof the other.

All pallets must always be placed on horizontal racks orstacked horizontally.

If panels are removed from the pallets, do not lean theremoved panels against any vertical wall or similar support,so as to avoid damage to the surface of the panel sheets.

When removing a panel sheet from a pallet, it must becarried out with at least 1 worker, at opposite ends andthey should only remove 1 panel at a time.

A single worker must not try to remove or flip the panelsheets out of a pallet by himself, as doing so could causeinjury to the worker and damage to the panel sheet.

When stacking panel sheets on top of each other, nothingshould be placed between them, so as to avoid causingany marks, dents or impressions on any of the panelssurfaces.

It is highly recommended to cover pallets with a plasticsheeting to prevent accumulation of dust and dirt on thePanel Sheets.

The cleaning must be done with a uniform pressure and witha horizontal motion first, followed by a vertical motion fromtop to bottom of the Panels coated surfaces.

It is essential that either a non abrasive grit free pad, softgrit free squeegee or soft lint-free cloth is used to clean orwipe the surface of the Panels, so as to prevent abrasions andscratches on the Panels coated surfaces.

To remove soil and dirt off the surface of the Panels, it isrecommended that prior to the carrying out the proposedcleaning process, a small area is tested first to determine thedegree of cleaning actually neces sary to accomplish the task.

A mild cleaning agent such as IPA solution (Isopropyl Alcohol)with a neutral PH of 5-10% can be used for the removal oflight and dirt soil. For stubborn stains, such as those caused by sealant andcaulking compounds, a mild solvent such as IPA (IsopropylAlcohol), n-Hexane or Ethanol 46.7% can be used.

It is recommended to start the cleaning from the top of thebuilding, as opposed to the bottom of the building, so as toavoid any rundown and streaking of the water and cleaning

agents on the panels that have already been cleaned.

After the soil and dirt has been removed, the Panels mustimmediately be rinsed with clean water and wiped with a softnon-abrasive cloth.

    WARNING:

Do not use any strong organic solvents or cleaning agentsunder any circumstances, such as MEK (Methyl Ethyl Ketone),MIBK (Methyl Iso Butyl Ketone), Triclene, Paint Thinner, household detergents, cleaning agents, strong alkali or strongacid based cleaning agents containing sodium carbonate, caustic soda, potassium hydroxide or similar, or any suchstrong abrasive and lacquer dissolving agents. All cleaningagents must have a neu tral PH of 5-10% only.

The use of abrasive cloths, pads will damage the surfacecoating of the Panels coated surfaces.

While using any cleaning agents, caution should be taken atall times. It should be noted that many cleaning agents maybe inflammable and dangerous, hence it is important to avoidany contact with fire or the use of lighters or the permittingof smoking around any cleaning agents. It should also beensured that cleaning site is always adequately ventilated toprevent any explosions and inhalation, as vapors from suchcleaning agents can build up in the cleaning site.

All cleaning materials must be disposed of properly. The company shall bare no liability whatsoever for non-compliance with the warnings stated above and for the non-compliance with the local work safety laws and regulations inthe respective countries by any parties whatsoever.
