Arepas boyacenses.If you've visited Boyacá and haven't
tried their delicious arepas
certainly, you must come
back there and taste them. They are
often served with chorizo and a
few drops of lemon.
Its preparation starts when grinding
peasant cheese is incorporated into the
sugar. Then, the wet is prepared
with a mix of wheat flour or corn,
sugar, cheese and butter.
Almojábanas boyacenses
Its name comes from the
Arabic “Almugabanna” which
means mixture made of
cheese.
They are originally from
Boyacá, mainly from Paipa.
These almojábanas are usually
found in most of the
bakeries.
Envueltos boyacenses.Envuelto, also known as bollo
has an
indigenous origin .It was
introduced by Muiscas in
Cundinamarca and Boyacá. It is
made of white sugar, butter,
corn and flour. It is wrapped with
corn husks and cooked into
boiling water .
