ABOUT THE PLAY(from the Directors)

"Anything Goes" began, as any production of thissize begins, as an idea. When we first approached theidea of a musical production, our immediate reactionwas, "we can't do it." We do not have a large enoughstage, we can't afford the royalties, we don't haveenough singers, actors, and musicians to go around. Asyou will see in tonight's performance, with people whoare willing to give their time, and their talent, theseobstacles are easily overcome.

We began casting "Anything Goes" with some doubt inmind as to the reaction of the student body to this typeof undertaking. There were nearly one hundred studentswho auditioned and offered to lend a hand. With a responselike this, we naturally figured that we couldn't miss.

Our next obstacle was money. Our budgets wererapidly eaten up by royalties and production costs, butsomehow, somewhere, Dick Seavitt found more so that wecould continue in our efforts.

We, the directors, will always be grateful for thehelp and cooperation of the faculty, students, andparents of Lowrey High School without which thisproduction would have been impossible.
