Solemn High Latin Mass at

Extraordinary Form for the Solemnity of Corpus Christi.

This will be the first time in over 50 years that the pre-

Vatican II Latin Mass has been Celebrated at Our Lady of

Peace. Mass will be followed by a Eucharistic Procession.

Appalachia Corner 2017 We are now accepting donations for Appalachia 2017. The trip is different this year. We are collaborating with the Center for Faithjustice to work with Habitat for Humanity in West Virginia. Our students will join students from other parishes for a greater sense of church in service to the poor. While we won't be directly purchasing our materials, paying for housing, rental vehicles and the like, the cost for our students has more than doubled to pay for these items. Over the past few years our students paid $350.00 to attend Appalachia. This year the cost through CFJ is $750.00. That cost is far beyond the breaking point for our families, so we plan to reduce that cost to $350.00 per student with your donations.

There is another component to this where I need your help. As you know my position is no longer full time at the parish. Our students are experiencing some fear with this Appalachia transition. I want to prove to them that change is good, and that nobody is more generous than Christ. Your donations will enable us to get this trip, the first of a new era, off the ground. I am excited for the day where these pioneers come back with amazing stories and encouragement for the next generation of students to say yes to this trip. Please consider helping our students be the hands of Christ for the poor in America, and be fundamentally changed in the process.

As always, checks can be made out to St. John Vianney Youth Ministry, and sent care of John Cook to St. John Vianney Church at 420 Inman Avenue in Colonia NJ. 07067. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of the donations you have made in the past, it is because of you that we have had such long term success in this ministry. God Bless.

Society of St. Vincent de Paul Every month going forward, we would like to add food items that are in short supply by the St. James Food Pantry. For the month of June we would like to request:

Pancake mix and syrup Rice Peanut butter and jelly

Thank you, in advance for your support.

A FRESH PERSPECTIVE ON THE SUNDAY READINGS HIS WORD TODAY by Rev. William J. Reilly

The Most Holy Trinity

“Having come down in a cloud, the Lord stood with Moses there and proclaimed his name, ‘Lord.’ Thus the Lord passed before him and cried out, ‘The Lord, the Lord, a merciful and gracious God, slow to anger and rich in kindness and fidelity. Moses at once bowed down to the ground in worship. Then he said ‘If I find favor with you, O Lord, do come along in our company.’”

Children sing with great gusto ‘Our God is an awesome God…’ Any words we use to describe God fall short of reality, whether it be the Trinity or each Person. Maybe we should grab the descriptive words of Exodus to describe God, as we know the three Divine Persons through their activity of creator, redeemer and animator.

God is merciful, the wonderful virtue emphasized by Pope Francis. Our God is gracious or considerate of us in our need, one of the fruits of the Spirit as described by St. Paul. Our God is one not to take offense, He doesn’t get mad, but perhaps at times He is disappointed with us and He is filled with kindness, one of the fruits of the Spirit described by Saint Paul. God is always true to His word and fulfilling His promises. We can apply all these characteristics to the God we praise on this Trinity Sunday.
