From Your Discipleship Pastor Trusng you had a great summer and are ready to get back to “normal”. Normal at Mauldin First Bapst is anything but boring. Normal is excing mes and opportunies for growth and service. And, as your discipleship pastor I stand ready to help you join in on the blessings. During the summer months I was excited to see our newest home community care group, pictured above, Wednesday Warriors (meets 9:30 am) begin for women with Amanda Gregory, Brenda Owen, Linda Hum- phries and Pat Atkins as facilitators. They’re a great group desiring to grow in Christ and reach out to others who need to know the love of Je- sus. Contact one of the facilitators for more details. Our men’s and women’s ministry are gearing up for excing mes as they resume their Wednesday night programming (begins 6:30 pm) BTW our men are sponsoring A FAMILY NIGHT OUT, August 16 to a Greenville Drive game. Check with Mike Anderson, David Eshenbaugh or check at the office for sign up details. Grief Share will begin its 3rd season on August 28. This is a great program which helps persons deal with the loss of a loved one. Didmara Mauney (Spanish teacher) has accepted a teaching posion in the women’s ministry of her church. We are currently working on a con- nuing emphasis on teaching conversaonal Spanish: Spanish With A Pur- pose. This class is designed to take the English speaker through a three month process to be able to converse comfortably enough to share Christ with those of our Spanish speaking community. Jesus commands us to go into all the world and make disciples. The world begins at our doors. We hope to begin Spanish With A Purpose August 28. If you have any inter- est in this opportunity check with me, Bill. We are planning our Fall season of Legacy Grandparenng and pondering if there may be another me, place or day when grand-parents would like legacy offered. For example, instead of Sunday aſternoons, would it work beer to add this to our Wednesday night schedule, or have it earlier on Wednesday about 4:00 pm - 5:15 pm? This would help grandparents come late aſternoon and get home before dark. They could even parcipate in our family night meals, if preferred as a “take out meal”. Or would Legacy fit well as a Home Community Care Group? Any- one care to offer their homes! Host and or lead? Other ideas? Please let me know. Discipleship in a mulcultural community will resume Wednesday nights in October. More details on this next me. One more thing - family night meals will resume September 11. The price structure will be different this year: $6.00 per plate for adults down to 10 years, ages 5 yrs - 10 yrs is $5 per plate, 4 and under at no charge. Family cap remains at $30.00. As last year, sign up and payment received in the church office no later than noon Monday prior the Wednesday meal. Signing up and paying on line is the most convenient way to do so. Enve- lopes will be in pew racks as well. Have a great day in The Lord, Bill

  • From Your Discipleship Pastor Trusting you had a great summer and are ready to get back to “normal”. Normal at Mauldin First Baptist is anything but boring. Normal is exciting times and opportunities for growth and service. And, as your discipleship pastor I stand ready to help you join in on the blessings. During the summer months I was excited to see our newest home community care group, pictured above, Wednesday Warriors (meets 9:30 am) begin for women with Amanda Gregory, Brenda Owen, Linda Hum-phries and Pat Atkins as facilitators. This is a great program which helps persons deal with the loss of a loved one.

Didmara Mauney (Spanish teacher) has accepted a teaching position in the women’s ministry of her church. We are currently working on a con-tinuing emphasis on teaching conversational Spanish: Spanish With A Pur-pose. This class is designed to take the English speaker through a three month process to be able to converse comfortably enough to share Christ with those of our Spanish speaking community. Jesus commands us to go into all the world and make disciples. The world begins at our doors. We hope to begin Spanish With A Purpose August 28. If you have any inter-est in this opportunity check with me, Bill. We are planning our Fall season of Legacy Grandparenting and pondering if there may be another time, place or day when grand-parents would like legacy offered. For example, instead of Sunday afternoons, would it work better to add this to our Wednesday night schedule, or have it earlier on Wednesday about 4:00 pm - 5:15 pm? This would help grandparents come late afternoon and get home before dark. They could even participate in our family night meals, if preferred as a “take out meal”. Or would Legacy fit well as a Home Community Care Group? Any-one care to offer their homes! Host and or lead? Other ideas? Please let me know. Discipleship in a multicultural community will resume Wednesday nights in October. More details on this next time. One more thing - family night meals will resume September 11. They’re a great group desiring to grow in Christ and reach out to others who need to know the love of Je-sus. Contact one of the facilitators for more details. Our men’s and women’s ministry are gearing up for exciting times as they resume their Wednesday night programming (begins 6:30 pm) BTW our men are sponsoring A FAMILY NIGHT OUT, August 16 to a Greenville Drive game. Check with Mike Anderson, David Eshenbaugh or check at the office for sign up details. Grief Share will begin its 3rd season on August 28. This is a great program which helps persons deal with the loss of a loved one.

Enve-lopes will be in pew racks as well.

Enve-lopes will be in pew racks as well.

Enve-lopes will be in pew racks as well. Have a great day in The Lord, Bill
