Teaching Experience Art Teacher, February 2015 - June 2015 Allendale Middle School - Allendale, MI - Long-term substitute teacher for 6th & 8th grade art courses. - Assumed all responsibilities of teacher including instruction & differentiation, preparing curriculum, grading, facilitating after-school Homework Hall, and organizing the Spring Art Fair. - Communicated with both students and parents through a website as well as Moodle. - Attended all staff meetings, assemblies, in-service days, and professional development.

Student Teacher, Fall 2014 Walker Charter Academy - Walker, MI - Developed and instructed differentiated art lessons for young 5’s through the 8th grade, including an Advanced Art course. - Participated in meetings for staff, the board of education, professional development, parent-teacher conferences, and attended moral focus assemblies. - Performed extra duties including traffic control, and after-school detention.

Research Honors Senior Project, September 2011 - February 2012 Exodus Place - Grand Rapids, MI - Conducted research on the history, creation, and purpose of public murals. - Successfully presented a proposal on the creation of a mural and the emotional benefits for the residents living in Exodus Place, a halfway house for men in the downtown area. - Designed and successfully completed a 27-foot mural for Exodus Place.
