The course is aimed at legal practitioners,accountants, academics, Islamic jurists andUlama and any other individual interested inMuslim Family Law. The participation of legalpractitioners is clear in that they will be theprofessionals involved in the application ofMuslim Personal Law. However, the course isequally important for accountants in that they areinvolved in the drafting of wills, trusts,partnership agreements and in the winding up ofdeceased estates. Most importantly, ourpractitioners, academics, jurists and Ulama willbe responsible for the development of MuslimPersonal Law as a science in South Africa
The Association of Muslim Accountants andLawyers (AMAL) was established in 1984.AMAL brought together people in the legal andaccounting professions and mainly concerneditself with educating and training its members onissues facing the community from time to time. Asa part of its training programme, AMAL hasorganised many seminars, workshops andpublic lectures and has hosted eminent scholars.
