Grace Alone – Solamente por la Gracia

The word “grace” means “undeserved love.” God loves us even though we don’t deserve it. Again and again we fail to do what we should. We can never earn a place with God in heaven. However, God still loves us, and Jesus died and rose for us. Because of Jesus, we can leave the past behind and have a new life, starting now. Most people in the world think that they will get to heaven if they are good, and they are never quite sure if they have been good enough. We Lutherans, on the other hand, know that we are not good enough. But God has saved us because of his grace alone – his undeserved love.

La palabra “gracia” significa “amor inmerecido.” Dios nos ama aunque no lo merecemos. Repetidamente fallamos. Nunca podremos ganar o merecer estar con Dios en el cielo. Sin embargo Dios todavía nos ama y Jesucristo murió y se resucitó por nosotros. Por causa de Cristo, podemos dejar atrás el pasado y comenzar una vida nueva, comenzando ahora mismo. Muchas personas en el mundo piensan que irán al cielo por ser buenas, y nunca están seguras si han sido suficientemente buenas. Nosotros en cambio sabemos que no somos suficientemente buenos.
