CHURCH ANNOUNCEMENTS FROM THE MINISTER’S DESK: Sunday, March 26, 2017 Revival Wrap Up What a great four days Figueroa has just experienced together. CHURCH ANNOUNCEMENTSFROM THE MINISTER’S DESK: Sunday, March 26, 2017

Revival Wrap UpWhat a great four days Figueroa has just experienced together. Revival 2017 has come and gone but not without lifting our spirits and revitalizing our efforts for the tasks ahead. We appreciate Bro. Warren G. Blakney for sharing God’s word in such a DYNAMIC way!

Many of you gave of your time and resources to make sure that things went as well as they could. It takes many hands working together for worthwhile things to get done. I regret not being able to stay throughout the duration of the meeting, but trust me I was there in spirit. Some ask, “…why do we need a Revival Meeting? We hear preaching every week from the local evangelists.”

We need Gospel/Revival Meetings because they stir up our spirit (II Peter 3:1), they drive away complacency, encourage the discouraged and they awaken us to the need to reach out to others with the truth of Jesus Christ. The Gospel does not need updating it only needs unleashing. It does not need adding to in order to be relevant; it is already relevant and only needs to be made known.

The gospel does not need to be adapted to our culture; our culture needs to be adapted to the Gospel. It does not need to be improved; it only needs to be obeyed (II Thess. 1:8; Hebrews 5:8-9) The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the “same yesterday, today, and forever.” The message never changes.

Thank God for men like Bro. Blakney with the conviction and courage to preach boldly the unerring Gospel of Christ. This message must be preached everywhere to all people. Let’s us pray that men, women, understanding boys and girls continue to obey the gospel one soul at a time. I’ve been revived, how about you?

Peace & Blessings,

James A. Maxwell

“TENDING TO YOUR TEMPLE” 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 HEALTH TIP: March is National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. Why is colorectal cancer screening so important: Colorectal cancer is preventable and can be cured if it is found early. Most colorectal cancers come from colon polyps (growth in the large intestine). Screening tests can find polyps so they can be removed BEFORE they turn into cancers. If you are 50 and over (male or female), please make sure you have scheduled your baseline colonoscopy. Check with your provider regarding when to have your follow-up appointments.

The Church of ChristWelcome to the Church of Christ at Figueroa – Where Christ is Supreme, You are Esteemed and Everybody is Somebody! We are happy to have you in our service and hope you find your time with us a blessing. We would like you to make a careful comparison of this church with the one described in detail in the Holy Bible. We believe that you will find that this church is not similar to but is identical to the church you read about in the New Testament. We are believers who desire to follow the biblical pattern of the church prophesied in the Old Testament and realized in the New Testament.

It is not its aim to amuse or entertain those who attend its services. It exists as a simple New Testament body, preaching the Gospel as it is, to the people as they are for the purpose of expanding His family on the earth which is the Kingdom of God.

What Must I Do To Be Saved? The Bible teaches us to Hear the Gospel

(Acts 15:7 Romans 10:17; I Corinthians 15:1-4, Luke 11:28)The Bible teaches us to Believe in Christ

(Hebrews 11:6; Mark 16:15-16; John 8:24; John 3:16)The Bible teaches us to Repent of sins

(Luke 13:3; Acts 2:38, Acts 17:30-31)The Bible teaches us to Confess Christ

(Romans 10:9-10; Acts 8:36-37)The Bible teaches us to be Baptized of water for

remission of sins (Acts 2:38)The Bible teaches us to Live Faithful unto death

(Titus 2:11-12)The Bible Teaches us to Continue to search the scriptures daily

to see if these things are true (Acts 17:11) and live for the Glory of God (I Corinthians 10:31)

After visiting with us, we hope that you will:

o Think about your worship experienceand compare it to scripture.

o Be encouraged to return again.o Bring someone with you.o Request more information about the Church of

Christ and/or schedule a personal study with the minister.

o Become a New Testament Christian and be faithful to Jesus.
