The history of the Italian sparkling wine starts with Gancia

In 1865 Carlo Gancia produced the very first Italian Sparkling Wine, a Classic Method based on moscato grapes and called Moscato Champagne!

Technical dataGrape variety: Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay.Vinification: The first fermentation is in controlled temperature tanks at 17-18 °C to elevate the delicate fragrance of this type of wine. The second Fermentation is with Martinotti Method.Alcohol content: 11 %Testing Note:Straw yellow colour with greenish reflexes. Light, rich and persistent perlage and clear transparency. Bouquet with fruit, fresh and intense. Pleasant, fresh, with good persistence.

Average age of the vines used for this blend is 10 years of age.Vinification: right after picking brunches are pressed directly under Co2 cover. Juice is decanted for 30 hours at about 10°C., then slowly fermented in tank at 12-14°C. Alcohol content: 13%Testing Note:Light gold colour. On the nose, fresh and sweet lemon. On the palate, an ample wine, well balanced, with intense citrus and pear aromas, complemented by a touch of grapefruit. Beautiful elegant and fresh finish.

( 80% from 20-40 years old, 20% over 50 years old)Vinification: 12 months in French & American oak. Bottle ageing, up to 2 years before leaving cellar.Alcohol content: 13.5%Testing Note:Intense, cherry-red color with crimson hues-a bright wine with thick legs. The initial aromas are intense and complex- red berries and sweet oak-with a hint of eucalyptus and liquorice at the end. The taste is balanced and full flavored, with sweet, round tannins married to light acidity, giving a fresh, harmonic tone to the palate. On the velvety, round finish, there is a bit of mint and minerals.
