The LIMITED EDITIONS AMELS 199 was conceived with audacity, confidence, and originality. She is shaped like no other yacht—with a curved vertical stem, unusually large outside deck areas with convenient inside access, chic bridge-wing pods, gracefully arched deck supports, flared wings, round portlights, vertical mullions, and a very desirable touch-and-go helipad option.

But the AMELS 199 is not just a ship of unsurpassed grandeur and irresistible magnetism. She gains impressively from AMELS’ legendary construction, advanced engineering, attention to detail, and industry-leading application of “green” features that help sustain our environment.

TIM HEYWOOD

The AMELS 199 clearly demonstrates how one virtuoso designer applies his aesthetic

sensibilities to guide AMELS naval architects into shaping a yacht of technical perfection.

Tim Heywood’s stunning sculptural concept—with scimitar bow, supple tumblehome,

and sinuous curves—inspired AMELS’ technicians to design a full-bodied hull with a long

waterline for speed; sufficient beam for good volume and stability; and an underbody

assuring fine seakeeping and long range.

NEW CONCEPT The AMELS 199 benefits from extensive market study and consultation with owners,

professional crews, project managers, key suppliers, yacht brokers, Lloyd’s Register

professionals, Damen researchers, and our own Continuous Improvement Program.

The result is a breathtaking yacht overflowing with fresh ideas, giving her exceptional

character and quality.

In the AMELS 199 we offer many features that owners request and appreciate, such as

a majestic 23-meter Sun Deck with glass-protected dining aft and a Jacuzzi forward.

The Bridge Deck provides a similarly attractive choice of sun or shade aft. The two

Bridge Deck VIP suites have access to a second private social area forward, with its

own Jacuzzi, ideal for use when moored stern-to. There is direct access between

guest cabins below and the Beach Club. The space allocated for tender and water-toy

stowage is larger than on any comparable yacht. And the much-requested touch-and-go

helipad is easily added atop the reinforced bridge.

TRENDSETTINGNever before have technical and aesthetic aspects of a new design come together

with greater insight and harmony. A sensible use of striking tumblehome, so classic

yet rarely seen on modern yachts, results in ample interior volume as well as

distinctive style. Well-placed deck-lines create the greatest potential for outdoor

enjoyment as well as the most versatile interior layouts possible.

Further, AMELS 199 noise-and-vibration levels have been optimized as never before.

All machinery and systems—engines, gearboxes, gensets, HVAC, and critical safety

components—have a new degree of redundancy, therefore greater reliability.

The AMELS 199 also delivers the same celebrated seakindly motion that every

AMELS owner expects, and the seaworthy performance and close-quarter

maneuverability every AMELS captain applauds.

It is a well-known fact that owners and guests spend most of their waking hours aboard a yacht enjoying the privileged outdoor pleasures of sunning, socializing, relaxing, or dining. The AMELS 199 will satisfy all such desires in countless, tempting ways.

The remarkable design has vast expanses of fine teak covering the Sun Deck, Bridge Deck, Main and Fore Decks, as well as the swim platform. This means that opportunities for lively outdoor gatherings or the tranquility of solitude are greater on the AMELS 199 than are usually found on other, even larger, yachts. And each social setting is easily serviced by hotel crew to assure that those privileged pleasures are available to the fullest, any time.

OuTDOORS

The AMELS 199 has unparalleled security and convenience. The garage, carefully hidden

behind the topsides forward, stows two tenders up to eight meters, two Waverunners and

two jet skis, all handled by overhead cranes. The Main Deck dining/conference room is

behind a folding bulwark to increase outdoor leisure possibilities and open the view from

within. (The space can also be set up for a gym, cinema, or other function.)

The yacht also has “green” features including: a MARIN tank-tested, low-resistance hull

for better fuel economy; extensive use of low-power LED lighting; HUG filters to eliminate

genset exhaust soot emissions; re-use of genset heat output to further reduce fuel

consumption; ecologically approved refrigerant and sewage treatment plant; fully insulated

glass to reduce heating and cooling loads in any climate.

These critical elements—plus hi-fog firefighting and other safety measures expected from

her Gross Tonnage—make the AMELS 199 compliant with Lloyd’s Register and MCA rules

and over-qualified for the Lloyd’s Environmental Protection (EP) notation she receives.

GREEN & EFFICIENT

On most yachts the foredeck is devoted to ship work: anchoring, tender stowage, and other crew activity. Aboard the AMELS 199 that attractive, open space is now devoted largely to owner and guest gratification. It is directly accessed from the owners’ and VIP suites, as well as the wheelhouse, Sun Deck, and even the pantry, for ultimate guest convenience. It includes a delightful forward-facing dining nook and a broad aft-facing sun bed surrounding a Jacuzzi. Each section is semicircular, creating that second isolated private social area where conversation is effortless and escape from the curious shoreside crowd is assured. The space is ideal for uninterrupted relaxation, and offers a quiet corner to do business unobserved by prying eyes and ears. The gleaming powerful anchoring gear is still there, of course, but it is never in anyone’s way.

FORWARD

In shaping the LIMITED EDITIONS AMELS 199, we designed or selected every detail to assure that life and work aboard are totally pleasant and efficient. Special consideration has been given to designing those areas guests make most use of while aboard.

The 29-square-meter swim platform is spacious enough for sunning, reading, or sociable conversation, and is built low enough to the water for effortless boarding or stepping out of tenders. The single transom stairway takes up minimal space, allowing for an unusually wide stern door; this makes access to the beach club straightforward and use of water toys effortless for crew or guests. The beach club itself has direct access to and from the Lower Deck luxury accommodations, a feature that enhances a casual onboard lifestyle.

AFT

NuVOLARI LENARD

Nuvolari Lenard is an international team of designers, stylists, and engineers

who perform their bravura artistry all under one splendid Venetian roof. That artistry,

plus their versatility and cooperative spirit enable them to control a project and maintain

easy communication with the shipyard. With the AMELS 199 they created what they call

a “Transitional” interior, with roots in both traditional and modern styles,

harmonized with Tim Heywood’s exterior.

ENTERThe AMELS 199 has flexible layouts that accommodate up to 14 guests. In the primary layout the owners’ full-beam apartment, with private living room and office, is on the Main Deck; two VIP suites are on the Bridge Deck. In the optional layout the Bridge Deck is devoted to the owners’ suite and the VIP suites are set on the Main Deck. In either layout Bridge Deck suites have private doors to the one-level side decks and forward sunning area, inspired by yesterday’s luxury liners.

Three guest cabins on the Lower Deck, two with Pullmans, have access to the beach club and swim platform. Interior spiral stairs aft and open stairs forward connect all accommodations decks.

The Captain, Chief Engineer, and Chief Mate have private cabins—the Captain has a separate large office. Spacious crew quarters—with three singles and six doubles—comply with ILO crew-welfare regulations. The laundry is extra-large; the Lower-Deck galley is as professional as all AMELS owners and crews expect.

With all these amenities, the AMELS 199 will serve equally as a private yacht or wise charter investment.

MAIN-DECk SALOON

TO BEGIN....Nuvolari Lenard is an atelier of artists dedicated to fine design. They begin a project

by integrating their art into the naval architect’s platform, exterior shape, and interior

layout, to assure perfect harmony.

Their exceptional approach to the LIMITED EDITIONS AMELS 199 interior did not

emerge from a specific architectural period or style but, as noted, is “Transitional.”

By its use of shape, color, and texture it maintains beneficial connections to both

tradition and modernity.

Nuvolari Lenard made fundamentally strong use of wood—the historic material of all

yacht construction. In this case it is bleached stained oak. They then applied natural

colors and purposely warm materials, and gave particular attention to lighting, which

they feel strongly influences a conception, enhances colors, and defines surfaces

and volumes.

As with all LIMITED EDITIONS models, the AMELS 199 offers each owner the widest

range of choices for personalizing a yacht, within the basic AMELS framework.

First, there is clear provision for one or two alternate General Arrangements within

technically fixed architectural elements such as watertight bulkheads and machinery

spaces. Second, the styling premise allows that, with close cooperation from

Nuvolari Lenard, each owner can make decisive changes to materials, joinery wood,

panel style, trim, loose furniture, privately collected or newly purchased art, or other

details, to make the personalization complete, yet still hold firmly to the project’s

allotted time and budget.

STYLE & COMFORT

The Beach Club, with a significant floor area of 35 square meters, is one of the AMELS 199’s crowning interior glories. It can be equipped with exercise gear, steam room, shower, day toilet, and bar as the owner wishes. It is easily entered from the swim platform through the transom door, and has a corridor that conveniently connects to all Lower-Deck guest accommodations and then up to the Main Deck central lobby.

The Beach Club is refreshingly pleasant and bright with the transom door open. When the door is closed the space is still filled with natural light that pours in through three large circular transom portlights so that the club can be used in foul weather or while the yacht is in port, with total privacy and without seeming like a “cave.”

BEACH CLuB

BRIDGEThe AMELS 199 bridge is an aesthetic and technical triumph, that will be a focal

point for active crew and sociable guests alike. It is, first, filled with “Big Ship”

control, navigation, communication, and monitoring electronics. But it also

embraces a spirit of inviting luxury.

Captain and crew work from duplicate outboard safety-enhancing control centers,

port and starboard, enjoying extended sightlines through wraparound windows

and wide side doors. At the same time, guests may sit comfortably on a plush,

well-raised central settee to watch operations or follow the yacht’s position and

progress on an electronic chart display, while enjoying panoramic views of

the sea around them, without affecting crew safety or efficiency.
