Easter EggsBy: Brian RossoThe Easter egg is a tradition that is

celebrated around the world. Manypeople believe that the egg is a sign ofrebirth. Originally, people would takegreat time and effort to paint anddecorate eggs. However, over time, some people chose to use plasticeggs or chocolate eggs instead.

• Decorating Easter eggs datesback 2,500 years.

• Countries such as Russia,Romania and Poland still createvery detailed colored eggs.

• Some people prefer tan Eastereggs, so they boil the eggs inwater containing onion skins.

• In England, different coloredyarns are also tied to the eggs tocreate a unique look.

• On Easter in the United Kingdom, painted eggs are rolled downsteep hills for fun.

• In the United States, children rolleggs on the ground using aspoon, which is an annual eventat the White House.

• Easter egg hunts are anotherfamous tradition.

• Beeping Easter eggs are nowused to allow the visuallyimpaired the opportunity to alsohunt for Easter eggs.

Happy Easter!

Faithful Is He WhoHas Promised

All God’s testing has a purpose -some days you will see the light. AllHe asks is that you trust Him, walk byfaith and not by sight. Do not fearwhen doubts beset you, Justremember He is near; He will never, ever leave you, He will always, always hear.

Faithful is He who promised, He willnever let you fall, daily will thestrength be given strength for eachand strength for all. He will gladlyshare pain with you, He will gladly giveyou peace. Until your tired and wearybody finds its blessed, glad release.

When the darkened veil is lifted, then, dear heart, you’ll understandwhy it is you had to suffer, why youcould not feel His hand giving strengthwhen it was needed, giving power andpeace within, giving joy through tearsand trial, giving victory over sin.

So until then, just keep on trusting, through the sunshine and the rain, through the tears and through theheartaches, through the smiles andthrough the pain - knowing that ourFather watches. Knowing dailystrength He’s given, victory for eachpassing hour, This is life, so let us live.

Attitude Is EverythingA Sandy Cove resident read this

column in the paper and thought itwould be good to share with all. Howpowerful attitude can be ....

“The longer I live the more I realizethe impact of attitude on life. Attitudeto me is more important than facts. Itis more important than the past, thaneducation, than money, thancircumstances, than failures, thansuccesses, than what other peoplethink or say or do. It is more importantthan appearance, giftedness, or skill. Itwill make or break a company, achurch - a home. The remarkablething is we have a choice regardingthe attitude we embrace for the day.We cannot change the fact people willact in a certain way. We cannotchange the inevitable. The only thingwe can do is play on the one string wehave - and that is our attitude. I’mconvinced that life is 10 percent whathappens to me and 90 percent how Ireact to it. And so it is with you andme, we are in charge of our attitude.”
