Moss Commander Web Site: post259.org August Charles Lewis - Editor 2013 COMMANDER MESSAGE 95 th Maryland Department Convention. Thanks to all Post 259 Delegates who attended the 95 th Maryland Department Convention in Ocean City Maryland. It was a well-planned convention, and we were able to obtain a wealth of knowledge from the classes the Department offered. I would encourage every member of Post 259 to attend next year’s convention as a delegate and attend some of the very informative classes the department has to offer. Commander concerned about Army drawdown. “National Commander Koutz said “The reduction in active duty forces puts national security position in danger.” Upcoming events: None to report for the month of August. POST MEETINGS: “THIS IS YOUR POST.” I encourage you to come out to your Post meetings and have a voice in the current policies, and procedures. This administrative year I hope to introduce some new and interesting programs. I welcome your input. BENEFITS CHECKUP: If you served in the United States Armed Forces you may be entitled to state, and federal benefits. To speak to an accredited service officer call 1-800-446-4926 ext. 6450, or Post 259 service officer James Woodland at 301-283-6451, cell 301-283-5047. DUES FOR 2014 Your dues for 2014 are due. We start the “pot” at $50.00 and add $50.00 to every month that we have no winner. The “pot” can and does reach its maximum of $300.00. At the present time the “pot” is at its maximum of $300.00. So why not come out to our meetings which are held on the 4th Monday of each month; you may win the “pot”. Last month the money could have been won by Mary C. McMillan – however she was not present.

Mrs. Chuck Whitworth.

Special thanks to Boy Scouts from Troop 1572 and Girl Scout Jazmin Burroughs from Troop 535. These

Burroughs, Mr. Brown, Mr. Feather, Mr. Thomas, and Ms. Pavok.

Thanks to the Auxiliary for providing the snacks for the evening. The next BINGO will be 14 August 2013.

Helping hands are always welcome. The rewards are priceless from a very grateful group of heroes.
