The IIG Gruppe, our parent company in Gelsenkirchen, Germany is one of the last privately managed medium-sized corporate groups to combine a unique portfolio of industrial services under one roof.

The IIG Gruppe is a worldwide company servicing chemical plants, energy generators, refi neries and process industry companies.

To serve our clients worldwide as part of our corporate philosophy, a new corporate entity was established as ATS (American Thermal Solutions, Inc.) in Fort Myers, Florida.

ATS has been established to execute for our highly valued clients the supply and application of thermal insulation for gas- and steam turbine projects and includes, but is not limited to our services related to the outages of power plants in North and South America.

Insulation with fl exible textile mattresses has prevailed in modern gas and steam turbine technology over the past years. This insulation method combines the benefi ts of ease of adaptation, reduced dust development and long textile mattress durability.

The textile mattresses are constructed in our centralized technology department with the help of state-of-the-art CAD technology, produced in our own production workshops and subsequently delivered to our customers. High demands on quality, international standards and the implementation of special customer requests are paramount.

We use a variety of textile types and insulation materials in production, which are optimally combined depending on the technical needs. It goes without saying that only high quality and asbestos-free materials, which correspond with the high requirements in power station construction, are used.

A special type of insulation, namely mineral wool-based spray insulation, is also used alongside insulation with textile mattresses for steam turbines due to their complex housing contours.

A cavity made of expanded metal is produced in the insulation thickness previously calculated by us for the partial area to be insulated. The insulation is then blown into the cavity and dried by the turbine’s own heat. To fi nish, the system is provided with external protection made of mineral heat plaster, which is given an oil and water-repellent coating.

The advantages of this insulation are in the long durability and very good insulating effect. The system is also distinguished by the short operating times for power station modifi cations.

Our noise enclosures are individually confi gured, manufactured and assembled. The enclosure offers additional protection from environmental damage for the aggregates and minimizes the acoustic emission of the enclosed components. If necessary, ventilation units are installed to further provide optimal heat radiation. The leak tightness is tested post-assembly using the “Blower Door Test”. The exhaust systems are confi gured depend-ing on the exhaust temperature. The casing can be designed with either an internal or outside insulation. The exhaust systems are provided with special noise absorbing silencer baffl es to fulfi ll the acoustic requirements.

In addition to planning and delivering complete and new facilities, service and mainte-nance can be performed by our own staff.

The company dates back to 1970 when IIG INDUSTRIEISOLIERUNGEN GMBH was founded in Gelsenkirchen.

Over the following years IIG became a medium-sized enterprise, continuously growing thanks to its fl exibility and high standards of quality, thereby creating the foundation for the purchase of a 12,000 m2 site at the start of the 80's. The construction of offi ce space and manufacturing premises with a total fl oor area of 3,600 m2 followed, and today they form the IIG Gruppe corporate headquarters.

In 1991 the fi rst subsidiary of the IIG Gruppe was set up in Berlin.

In 1994 the growth of the company necessitated the creation of a further plant in North Germany, resulting in the construction of 1,500 m2 offi ce, warehouse and workshop premises in Stade near Hamburg on a 4,500 m2 site that serves as the ideal base for supplying and servicing our customer base in North Germany.

In 2006 the ROHRER Group, under the management of Johann Rohrer, purchased a percentage share of IIG Industrieisolierungen GmbH.

Strategic decisions were made to etablish further subsidiaries and position the company on the international stage.

IIG GROUP – COMPANY HISTORY.

These include our manufacturing premises in Abu Dhabi (UAE) and our subsidiary in Ustek (Czech Republic). Here, modern mattress insulation is manufactured in sewing workshops.

The Group was further extended in 2009 with the establishment of IIG Revisionsmanage-ment GmbH and IIG Anlagenservice GmbH.

This expansion continued into further new markets in 2010 with the setting up of a subsidiary in Egypt. At the same time, another subsidiary was set up in the Rhine-Main-Neckar area to support our focus on South Germany.

The IIG Gruppe expanded in Asia through the acquisition of an existing company in Thailand in 2011.

The Group added an additional specialication in 2013 by expanding the drywall division.

In 2014 a further subsidiary was established in Switzerland.

ATS, INC. is a subsidiary company of the IIG Gruppe Germany was established in 2015.
